I recently paid £11 for a fan. I feel like I was ripped off but I could care less since it has the character I love on it

Not that bad as I paid £50-60 for a wallscroll and £30-40 for a big towel. These were even in Japan, I would of thought it be cheaper but no it is not

Yes I have and I have been to Japan (Akihabara) to buy some
What did you buy, if you don't mind telling? >w<

It is all from my favourite serie:

Had like 3 wallscrolls and keychain delivered from Japan - expensive shipping and VAT - £130
Dakimuraka pillow cover - £120 including shipping and VAT charge

In Aki, bought like another 4 wall scrolls as well as bath towel and some key chains - probably around £200-300

Around £500-600 ($631.85) roughly that or more

Before the Internets ( I'm that old) I bought the complete Robotec series on VHS. I also remember buying a couple Rama 1/2 comics. I also bought some Macross model kits.

It's weird how ever other Anime, shows people flocking to Akiba to stand in line just to buy a figurine. Do people actually do that? Or is it just wishful thinking of the studio?

Considered there are huge line people just for yearly release of iphone, im not surprised about people line for original animal merchandise.

As for topic, Im cheapskate so I tend to buy ..... non original from china. But I dont bother with fake nendroid because it still pricy (for same price, I can buy a lot of games bundle for example)

My biggest purchase was when I when to Japan in 2012 (1 year after tsunami) that I went to Akiba for 3 days (stayed in yokohama), I went to a lot of shops (50 of them?). My favourite is to find "off-season" item which sometimes will sell unsold item from ufo catcher (less than 500 yen) and another one probably from various doujin shop (not exactly fake, but not official mechandise) which sometimes have much cheaper price.

Im not collecting anymore since I bought them just because I found them cheap and I need something to put on my table.

*If you want much cheaper hobby / mechandise, I suggest start doing papercraft or 3d print (and colour them yourself), it is just much cheaper.
Nah, i dont think sharing anime ratings in signature is cool thing.

Here, stare at this pointless signature instead.

A bunch of posters and wall scrolls, a small yet healthy collection of manga, a small yet healthy collection of physical anime, a few shirts, and some other assorted merch.

Lots. I have a lot of manga and DVDs and a pretty big Keychain collection and some video games... like all the Yugioh games... and a lot of cards for Yugioh and Digimon and some Yu Yu Hakusho... and Pokemon. I got hairbows and t-shirts and never buy from knock off sites. Always buy official sites. I even like my pokemon shirts to be official unless it be cosplay.

I am still trying to collect everything Joey Wheeler that was ever put out. It is kinda difficult to do. Some of it that I missed out on because I was pretty poor growing up has gotten expensive.

I own a Tokyo Ghoul wallet and one Attack on Titan manga. That's about it. I live in a country where manga and anime merchandise is almost nonexistant. There were a few stores that sold merchandise but most of them have closed and they're too far from my house. Not to mention my Father looks down on anime manga.

Yeah, I bought a body pillow from my local manchester store and ordered a Nep Nep cover from Hong Kong on eBay, shut up.

I got quite a bunch of stuff, mostly figures, but due to lack of money and space, I don't really get anything anymore (the last thing I bought something was over two years ago). For the same reasons, I don't buy many mangas and DVDs/BDs anymore and rather watch stuff online now.

Not unless manga volumes count, I bought Nichijou, the only anime that has inspired me to charity. Even though I hate hoarding physical junk in the digital age.

If there was a Steam for anime (download, not streaming) I'd be throwing my money at the screen non-stop. But I don't rent entertainment, and especially not with a fragmented market full of geo blocking, so the anime industry is pretty far away from getting any of my money.

Oh god yes. I sometimes get the Lootcrate Anime...well crate and I have a shit ton of shirts, a awesome fairy tale scarf, several manga, a Jo Jo's Bizarre Adventure Hat, an Ein (cowboy bebop) plush, a Hatsune Miku travel blanket, and honestly a shit ton of stuff I don't need but really like regardless.

I'm stopping the crate after this month tho...since honestly it hasn't been doing very well recently.

I did get a special goku POP figure....but I sold it for 100 bucks because I needed the money. Really regret that now honestly.

I bought one manga of Death Note from a second hand store because it was cheap.
And I have DVD set of Studio Ghibli movies but they're not the best quality cause they're quite old releases.

I'd like to buy Bluray versions of them but they're expensive af, one season of Naruto is like 80 liras so no thanks.

Anime merchandise is usually quite expensive here especially DVD/Bluray not just mangas, and I haven't seen any official merchandise like keychains and stuff here, I am going to buy a full set of my favorite animes especially Naruto, Nana and Anohana if I manage to move to UK or Australia though. I really want to support the industry that gives me so much entertainment over the years.

I want to have a anime shelf, that'd be so cute.

Yes. I own at least one DVD volume of 10 anime series. 2 of those anime series I own the complete series of: Death Note and the original Mahou Sensei Negima!

With manga, I own at least one volume of 20 manga. 2 of those manga series I own every volume of: Death Note and Hunter x Hunter (except for volume 33, which doesn't count since the English translation of it hasn't been released yet).

I own a few phone straps and manga of a couple of series but that's it. Years ago I owned a Naruto poster but that's either been thrown away or is collecting dust somewhere now. I've always secretly wanted to own those cool, big figurines of my favorite characters, but my desire to appear 'normal' with only normal stuff on my shelf is bigger than my willingness to invest a load of cash in them. That and they're a pain to protect whenever I need to move or refurnish.

Btw does 'unofficial merch' count? As in fan-made stuff? The doujinshi I ordered from Japan just arrived and I'm struggling to find a place where I can hide them from visitors lmao.
