Would you like idols that have boyfriends/girlfriends in idol anime?

New
Would you like an idol anime where some or all of the idols have a BF/GF.

I want to know if you want idol anime where the idols have a lover just like some do in real life. I mean we already have everything in that genre from idols suffering and even going through training that is pretty much torture (and somehow they keep coming back for more almost like they have Stockholm syndrome) but we don't have any idol anime where the idols are dating some guy or gal. I just want to see this occur in anime and see what happens (probably nothing will happen), but hey at least it will prove that such an anime can be made without incident or controversy.

Doesn't Japan have some golden rule that female idols aren't allowed to have boyfriends and have to stay virgins (or at least pretend they are)?

Some agencies don't mind as quite a few are married, but there are still are agencies that don't want them dating.

What is the point? It wouldn't gather BD DVD sales since dem idol otaku want their waifu to be pure.

Don't think I've ever heard of a female idol getting married while still an idol, only retired ones and males idols.

I would honestly love it if more female idols in anime were dating male idols. They're both idols so they're both still pure and there shouldn't be a problem with them "not being for everyone anymore" because the person they're dating is also an idol. Idols shouldn't date commoners, though.

It's better to have the anime out there than to have a good idea go to waste.

I do like idea of male and female idols dating, especially since people sometimes ship them anyway, but I also want to see a common highschool or college guy dating them as well.

That strictness on being pure and single while you are an idol is pretty sad in my opinion. Girls deserve to be happy and have a life outside of the idol world... irl. In anime? To hell with human rights! I want to ship all the girls with myself and an official parter is to big of a hindrance to my fantasies

In terms of the idea I don't care, but in the way you presented just to prove a point no. Because then it's less a relevant point in the show and more of an added on gimmick. Unlike all of the other scenarios you presented in which it shows the struggles the characters go through.
So if there were an accurate scenario in which an idol gets caught dating somebody and has to say shave their head and try to work their way back up in their idol group (which is something that actually happens) that's more of an interesting idea than "why doesn't every character date somebody because they can?"

most agencies have dating ban rules. and even if they didn't, fans would riot if they find out their pure aidoru was with some other dude. they get mad even if they find out she had a boyfriend BEFORE joining a group. a lot of these girls can't even upload pictures hanging out with male friends.

wota are terrible. but they bring in the $$$ and that's all that matters to the agency. they aren't going to change it if it means losing the fans that spend lots of money.

so that's most likely not going to happen in idol anime. but i do want the dating ban rule to go away and yes i would like girls in idol anime to have boyfriends or girlfriends. if they manage that it will probably have to be a secret s/o i think...

There was this manga I read a while ago.. Forgot the name but basically it was about this guy who was dating a gravure idol and they had to keep it a secret.
Both ways are fine honestly, but I would prefer the reasoning behind the no boyfriend rule have less to do with a "pure" image and more to do with no time for romance.
...better to be hated for what you are than loved for something you are not.

I would like it if they were real people and not pretty perfect pure princesses, yes.

I miss you, Satoshi Kon. You made the one good idol anime.

It wouldn't bother me, but it's not something I'm going to advocate for or seek out. I watch idol anime for the performances and to watch the characters grow, so as long as it doesn't distract from that I don't mind. Or hey, maybe they could go the extra mile with it and make a story of forbidden love between two idols. The industry won't allow it. Their fans would never accept it. The paparazzi would never give them a moment to be together alone. Alas, all they can do to suppress their passionate feelings is to communicate through the songs they sing. The lyrics are promises to each other, to one day be together!

Will never happen. The only thing you might get is a self-insert male mc with an idol gf/harem.

The marketing point of idorus is that they're meant to be pure and untouchable. Otherwise, they'd just be ordinary singers.

I always wanted some actual romance in idol anime.

Honestly, Macross Delta gave me what I wanted in that regard already even though it's not an idol anime per se.

Screw the idols have to be single rule. I want my ships.
They don't have to force a boy/girlfriend when it's not needed.

Depending whether I ship them a not or whether I feel they're a good pairing a not too.

Additional points are both of their individual characters.

If it meant that the manga and song Sarishinohara would have the chance of getting an anime adaptation, then yeah. The story was based on a scandal with one of JKT48's member being found out that she was in a romantic relationship.
