Ah, Kotori's mom finally met Sensei and Tsumugi. This was a nice finale, formulaic like most of the series, but nevertheless enjoyable. As a whole, this show was very relaxing to watch, had yummy food, and a likable cast of characters. The realistic nature of this show's portrayal of Tsumugi was really what made the show click though. It also made me appreciate a good dad like Kouhei trying the best for his daughter. I would love to see a season 2, but I don't see that as too likely at the moment. This was also probably one of my favorites from the season, right up there with Saiki.

Didn't really feel like a last episode and I blame the director for it. The directing for the past few episodes had been quite dodgy to say the least.

I kinda regret reading the manga too because it made me disappointed that they didn't adapt the chapters that would have fit the anime MUCH better, giving it a more progressive story instead of several repetitive (and ultimately rather pointless) episodes in the middle.

It would have been so much better had they adapted the chapter about Kotori's knife trauma and then end it with the chapter where Inuzuka is showing his cooking skill progress to Kotori's Mom.

Oh well, it was charming while it last. Hopefully there's a 2nd season so they can adapt more chapters because honestly, the anime doesn't really do justice for how amazing the manga is. Probably just half of its appeal and character progress was captured in this cour.

That semi-twerk Tsugumi did was kinda funny.

Kotori's mom finally meets Sensei and they all eat together like a big happy family. Thought that was nice that she told Tsugumi that Sensei's cooking is good because he puts his love into his cooking for her.

I'm gonna miss Kotori, this show, Kotori's voice, Tsugumi, Kotori's eating habits, Sensei, Kotori's love for good food, Yagi, Kotori's facial expressions, Blonde Hair chick, Kotori's adorable smile, finding new recipes to devour, Kotori's cooking, Kotori's mom and Kotori.

Love this series a lot, definitely made my shitty Mondays better. Sometimes Tsugumi annoyed me but that's fine, she's a child.

The thing that bothered me the most out of this series is that Kotori always has a bandaid on and I've been waiting to see if it accidentally comes off and ends up in the food.

9/10;
Though it's the same concept every week, Kotori and Tsugumi always makes my day better. It's a good and relaxing show to watch after a stressful day.

The finale was kinda chill.
Loved introduction of Kotori's mom. She looked really hawt tbh.

Overall, the anime was a heartwarming watch. I'm gonna miss Tsumugi's moments and her cuteness. Props to the kid who cast Tsugumi so well.
Really loved the interaction b/w the characters. An 8/10 for me.

why did everyone freaked out when kotori's mother said that the food was delicious cause it's filled with sensei affection ? Straight forwrad ? So what ?
i didn't get that part

Anyway , the highlights in this episode for me were
1) sensei telling his daughter that sometime he has to scold her , even though he doesn't like it . That was great, cause he treat his daughter with respect

2) tsumugi : is affection like love ? So that why the food is so good . I eat lots of that , then , huh ? ( meaning she receive her father love through food )
Then sensi replay : i see ... you're eating it , tsumugi

That was heartwarming to watch . 5/10

Okonomiyaki is one of my favorite Japanese dishes ever. I find myself eating whatever the character (of whatever Anime I'm watching) are also eating. I make okonomiyaki at home at least once a month.

This was a pretty good series and it made me hungry. I liked what a great dad the MC is towards Tsumugi. I'm also glad there's less emphasis on romance. I don't need that in my family series.

Megumi is such a pretty mom, I can totally see her as Tsumugi's mom. No fucking way would I like some Usagi Drops ending with Kotori being her mom. BARF. Yagi-chan is such a fanboy.

I wonder why kotori's always covering her finger with a band-aid. Something might've happened with her father as seen in the flashback during the series, and it might have something to do as to why kotori is happy when she's with kouhei. She sees her father in kouhei? I don't know I don't read the manga so I wonder what happened in kotori's past. Hopefully a season 2 please!

I didn't get it either, maybe the affection word (aijou?) used there has a too strong connotation? It's more for couples?
Is it taboo in japan to use this word when it's toward kids?

can someone explain?

An interesting end to this series.

We are still seeing Tsugumi and her father growing to understand each other throughout this series. Her father trying to understand how she is trying to communicate to himself and her friends while Tsugumi becomes more sympathetic towards her father for not immediately interpreting correctly.

The introduction of Kotori's mother is something I am looking forward to and how it evolves between Kohei.

Overall still enjoyable and hoping to see a continuing series.

Damm and so this is the end of such a fun and relaxing anime.
Im going to fill empty on Mondays without seeing the food that the show produces

Okonomiyaki though looks delicious and i actually want to try it after seeing
it here. And at least the thought of making it cheered up Tsumugi because she
is always better happy and cheerful.

Tsumugi's spell and little dance though was hillarious though.

Kotori though must be lonely because her mother is always at work.
Though i guess thats why she likes to be with Tsumugi and Kohei so much.

Wow the Okonnomiyaki that they made in the end looks so tasty and as always
it was a group effort when even the always absent mother helps out and finally appearing in the flesh.

Tsumugi, Kohei and Kotori actually do look like a family
if only a little

This episode brings an end to such a fun and relaxing anime and i think it did a great job. Nothing like finishing up a anime than by ending it with food.

Megumi's school uniform!!!! *drools*

Didn't felt like a final ep of a series, just like a regular ep with some subtle KouheixKotori bonding. Tsumugi being the kid she is, isn't always mature and does shows her stubborn/childish side sometimes. Definitely 1 of the best family centered series that make you appreciate your family care towards your wellbeing.

Don't make fun of Tsumugi's dancing skills.

Tsumugi's and Kouhei's discussion about not liking to be scolded and not liking to scold was nice.

And the UMA known as Kotori's mother finally appeared.

Good episode. Didn't really feel like a finale though. Actually had to come on here to see the episode count.

The theme was kind of fitting for the finale, but I feel like the in-person introduction of Kotori's mom was kind of underwhelming. They hyped it up a few times, then it finally happened...and then she didn't really contribute much of anything once she showed up. Like, 3-4 lines of dialogue.

If that was gonna be the case I wish she would've gotten more screen time sooner.

what a nice last episode :') love it when Kouhei and Tsumugi become closer by understanding each other, I need to do that when I became a father.
And it's really sad seeing Kotori's mother, Megumi, "real" show time only in last episode, need more of her! BTW, Megumi is a mother who usually wear high school uniform, and she put a mushroom in her okonomiyaki... I... must... not... think... any... weird... thing...
and BTW I really hope Kouhei and Kotori will marry in the future, but I always afraid Kouhei will marrying Megumi instead...

Pleasant to the end this anime, episode that you watch without problems. Narrative that manages to teach a little lesson the other, I was amazed by how Inuzuka has turned things against of Tsumugi. The really high quality for designs, there is only one regret in this anime series, having not given space to Kotori, nice instead the relationship between Inuzuka and Tsumugi, I hope they make a sequel. Pleasant opening, a little less than the ending, pretty and catchy soundtrack.

For now, my vote is 7/10.

So she finally came, I'm glad. I wonder is her mother could possible future love interest of Kohei, would be very interesting to see their interactions even further. They also ended on positive side. And those heavy undertones everywhere. This episode was one of the top of the series.

Really great show with very unique atmosphere, bittersweet in a way. It reminded me of Clannad/Afterstory almost all the time, it somehow felt as extension of that story because of similiar motives, even thought it was also something completely different. I can tell that whoever wrote the manga was fan of that novel (and MC being voice by the same guy helps). Hayami Sayori also did great.
And it was also very down to Earth as Relife or Orange, I simply like those type of anime.

But what about Kotori's fear of knives? What about missing father of hers? Questions, questions... I almost want the second season season now.

There's nothing strange about the words themselves. Japan is a conservative society where affection is not shown or displayed that openly, even less so in a setting where we have a bunch of people who dont know one another that well sitting around a table eating together.

When Megumi (Kotori's mother) speak so openly about how Tsumugi's father put so much effort and love into the food he cooks for his daughter, it's sets up quite an embarrassing situation, since it's something that Kouhei probably would not even say to his daughter in the comfort of his own home... and it's no wonder that he looks quite embarrassed. The other people around the table are probably surprised by how open and unabashedly Megumi speaks, since it's not quite how you are supposed to act in this kind of setting.

One of only a couple shows that I watched every week this season, really enjoyed it.

Early on, I was a little afraid they'd try to imply some sort of elicit teacher-student romance, but I'm very glad they never really went there.

As strange as it may sound, I'm kind of glad Tsumugi acted like a brat once in a while -- you know, almost like a real little kid -- it made her more believable. They managed to make her cute and adorable without making her unrealistically perfect.

Adorable show from start to finish. I agree the cooking segments got repetitive but it was kind of expected. I would definitely recommend this show to people who like food/cooking shows and want something more laid back (compared to Shokugeki no Soma or Yakitate Japan). Nice to see Kotori's mother with them finally. All in all a nice end.

Only two things to say really. After 12 episodes I can't listen to Tsumugi losing it anymore... Had to mute the player every time it happened in the past 2-3 episodes. I know she's a child but her attitude was unreasonable most of the time (and if you think about it her father more often than not reinforces it because most times she gets angry he tries to calm her by doing the shit she wants). I know that's not what this anime is about and it was more or less the only way to lead to the shown situations in the first place but at this point I couldn't ignore it anymore because it was a recurring theme.

The other thing was Kotori's mom. What the fuck is up with her face. Her lips looked so freaking weird because only the lower half was "visible" >.>

Anyway. All in all great anime. Really enjoyed it. Especially Yagi was awesome :D
