 It was announced at the 2nd Heartful Tank Carnival event today and on its official Twitter account that a sequel anime for the Girls und Panzer franchise titled Girls und Panzer: Saishuushou (Girls und Panzer: The Final Chapter) is in production. The format for the anime is unknown at the moment. The announcement PV, which is currently not available online yet, also revealed some new characters. The BD and DVD sets for the 2nd Heartful Tank Carnival event will go on sale next year on February 24. The first season ran for 12 episodes from October 2012 to March 2013. | I jumped from ma chairs for 2 times and almost scream like a girl. this year....fucking recently...i have been got surpised for more than twice with all of this fucking sequel news. first NGNL, second Witch Academia, third, Mekaku city actor, fourth strike the blood, fifth Wixoss and now Girls and panzer which is one of the most anime that i want to see it's getting another season. i don't know....i'm just feeling happy right now. i mean, i'm a biggest fans of girls und panzer. it's a fun show. i like it a lot. the movie especially...and now, i was thinking, maybe, in a very tiny bit of chance, i might get a sequel, but, I, NEVER, EXPECTED, IT, TO REALLY, GET, A FREAKING, SEQUEL. moreover it's the final. seriously, i'm so happy to hear this news. i know anime industry have always been doing some stupid things with anime but recently, this sequel news are healing my hearts. obvious, i'm looking foward to this the most. another one of my fav anime is getting a sequel. but it's kind sad to hear that it's the final ;_; Duck_knight said: Let's hope for world competition and 24 episode tv series that's gonna be awsome. |

| I was kind of expecting this by now, but being labeled FINAL kind of sets me off. I am guessing with the way the other two series went, this series would have the girls facing off against university teams from another country or something. I am hoping this is a full-TV anime in lieu of the first season. |

| Damn, I must catch up to the movie ASAP, meanwhile kinda agree with what others were saying that "Final" just makes it even more disappointing, they better live up to our expectations considering this is their "Final" war anyway lul. Now all I need to know is what could be better: A TV series that will be released its subs a day after but I bet has a 50% chance to be disjointed since you know Actas or a movie series brimming with luscious quality but take some time for the subs to be released |

| Great news! and let's stay optimist, after the final chapter they still can make the "come back" OVA in 2018 followed in 2020 by a "we won't let you down"serie sequel featuring the daughters of Miho, Hana, Anzu, and co. and why not in 2025 the "first inter universe senshadou competition" on the new oarai spaceship :) yosh! I wouldn't say no to a shirobako 12 eps S2 either. |
