AoT V.20 manages to reach the million in 6 days, that's neat. Hopefully the next weeks will stop the fall of the manga's sales. Thanks to season 2 news and great reviews for volume 20 it should be possible.

Lost Girls V.2 reaches 50k, it should rank again next week before leaving the charts forever. Good sales for a spin-off.

Before the fall is steady.

Kyojin Chuugakkou ends on a low note, it was time to end it.

AoT V.19 also manages to rank again. With its limited edition it has sold 1,722,662 volumes in 4 months. Quite behind previous volumes but still an enormous amount of volumes sold that only One Piece can reach.

Too bad the ANSWERS guidebook didn't reach the chart. It's quite interesting.

1 million copy in 6 days, not bad, definitely a improvement over volume 19. I'm expecting volume 19 sales to slowly climb up in these upcoming months.

Also happy for snk lost girls.

43. *19,834 *,*19,834 Harigane Service Vol.11

31. *23,979 *,*23,979 Ari no Ou Vol.4

Also worth giving Ari no Ou an anime , its selling better than a lot of the stuff in Champion.

Still no anime announcement, should be coming soon.

- *78,464(4) - *42,559 - *,121,023 (*11) Black Clover Vol.7

- *95,452(7) - *22,984 - *,118,783(*14) Black Clover Vol.6

A slight increase, not bad but seems like only an anime will boost the sales significantly.

It certainly did, its funny how the author acknowledges it too (the art style being bad).

Decent list, I like how Boruto has Naruto in the tittle, because that shit wouldn't sell on its own, they must know that. Saw Magi still hanging in there, very pleased about that.

Attack on Titan with 900,000+ in a week, nice.

Boruto doing sold, no quite Naruto level sales but still good nonetheless.

One Piece still managing to crack top 20 even after all this time, I like it.

Needs more volumes first unless the mangaka wants to write even more original material than they did in S1. Probably needs 3-4 more volumes before s2.

I expect more of course, on the same timespan, One Piece used to be able to sell more than this, before vol.81, 2.3 million was something that One Piece could get in 2 weeks, and in 3 weeks it was already 2.5+ million , and in one month it was 2.6+ million, I hope we won't see any more decrease in the next volume..

Yeah, that's also my favorite quote along with Blackbeard speech at Mock Town. :3

I'm starting to believe in the digital sales boom is the reason for the decline to be honest.

Can't say for sure about the volume(tankobon) release but lately more and more people start buying Jump Magazine digital copies instead of the physical copy, maybe digital book is slowly getting bigger and bigger in Japan.

I've said the same thing as well, but there's no concrete proof to back up that claim, since they don't show the digital sales figures.

Yeah, that's why I said I can't say for sure for the volume release, but when it comes to the maagzine weekly issues, it's true that more and more people start using digital copies.

+ @keragamming

And we don't know how many digital copies are even paid for. I don't just mean through piracy either as many official manga apps and web pages are free. They are meant to be ads for the print version but of course many people just read them online and never bother to buy the tankobons. Others may read uploads.

Amazon doesn't release Kindle figures. Overall we're in the dark for digital sales so there is no way to know if it is making up the gap in print sales or if those losses are mostly gone.

Also not forget that Oricon doesn't track every store, so it can happen(even though improbable) that people just aren't buy the manga in Oricon tracked stores and are moving to other stores.

I would say that is unlikely in general but there are special cases where it is true especially if bonuses are offered at non-Oricon stores or if books are only or mostly offered at stores which do not report at all. Reports of print sales declining and magazines going out of business seem to indicate that, sadly, the decline is real.

Shounen Jump dropping too, wish I could find something a bit more recent but down from 6 million in the mid nineties to 2.4 million almost a year and a half ago and I suspect even lower now.

Its a general magazine decline.
Those drops aren't just people moving on to digital.

if you look at Sunday, you will see that it lost 500k readers in 8 years, that's a brutal drop for Sunday standards.

Manga market size is largely flat after 2009,print sales is being replaced by digital/web sales.

Print Magazines sales declining very fast.
Print tanko bon sales slightly declining.
Digital manga sales growing very fast.

Hopefully the One Piece sales will pick up in traction when the meat of this arc starts to happen. I'm waiting for Sanji and Brook to do something badass. When the real fights start happening I'm hoping sales will boost up a bit. Of course with digital sales it is hard to say. Too bad we don't have records of digital sales, I want to know if OP really is declining or if people are just buying digital instead. As long as it continues to pull 2 million though I'm not to worried.

Am I in the Twilight Zone? Why are you talking of a totally unrelated subject than the one talked previously? And who said that I don't know about the Magazine Print Numbers?

What is hard to understand? How one series is doing has almost nothing to do with the state of the Magazine to begin with, The companies that track the volumes sales and the Magazine print are completely different, and so what they track is also different. The volumes is Oricon, the Magazine print is the "Japan Magazine Publishers Association".
So what has the magazine decline in sales anything to do with One Piece decline in sales tracked by Oricon, and the possibility that is just people not buying the volumes in Oricon tracked stores?

The Magazine sales has been declining since 1995, One Piece came in 1997 it had its first peak in 2003, its second peak in 2012 and for all that time the magazine was in decline, with exception around 2010 that for the first time in a long time increased circulation.
