Yup, I watched the first episode. The art and animation are really interesting and the opening song is catchy as fuck. Not too sure about the story, I'm not convinced yet, but it can go a lot ways, so I will keep watching especially since this season doesn't seem really interesting to me. |

| I spent most of my free time today catching up on Re:Zero and made it up to episode 13. There were a few eyeroll moments, most being due to Subaru being the character the author has made him, but overall I think the character interactions have been pretty good. Episode 13 in particular has some of my favorite interactions since the first episode. Am I the only one here other than tsud that's getting a fair amount of enjoyment out of the series? I recall being (quite) a bit more enthusiastic about it than most of the rest of the club when the earlier episodes were airing. |

The reason I don't know the current consensus on Re:Zero is twofold: First, I haven't been watching anime much over the past two months, meaning I haven't been on MAL as much. When I am on MAL, I monitor this club rather heavily-- far, far more than I do AD or anywhere else. I just spend most of that time lurking rather than posting. Second, although I started watching the club again several days ago, I am very, very spoiler-averse. This is especially true when I enjoy a series a lot, so whenever I saw a conversation about Re:Zero I bailed out ASAP and moved on to whatever the next object of conversation was. Oh, and hardly anyone here is rating this as it airs, so there's that too. From my stats page I can only tell that tsud and tingy definitely have a good opinion of the show, amongst those I regularly see/interact with. |
