| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Decent start. Tsukushi is portrayed as an underdog already and somewhat timid for a character. He needs to stop blushing so much! On the other hand, Jin is the cool type of guy. I like the pacing so far, it introduces some of the main characters while establishing the themes and sports gimmicks. Seriously though, I hope they adapt Tsukushi's progress as a character and soccer player because so far, he's quite a klutz on the field. On the other hand, I do admire his spirit. 24 episodes, not sure how much they will adapt but this show has a ton of potential imo. |

| Watching this make me feel so good, so relaxed, like watching something from my childhood(ok, i'm overreacting a bit). I loved it! i want more. And oh my god, i almost didn't recognize Yoshitsugu voice. |

| I liked it quite a bit. I get Baby Steps and Whistle vibes from this, the mc is new at a sport and is trying hard to get good. It's promising and I'm excited for the next ep. I've read a few chaps of the manga a while ago and it seems like they took out certain bits. |

| That was a really good first episode. Probably the best so far along with ReLIFE. Good two MC's, soccer is fun to watch, too. When they showed his foot...this guy is so determined. |

| It's good to see another soccer anime finally getting animated, there aren't much around (that aren't filled with superpowers). I like the mc, complete beginner underdog. Looking forward to see where this show goes |
| I really liked this first episode and well, sport anime always have this great atmosphere around it that make it enjoyable to watch. I sure like the characters I have seen so far, Kazama in particular. As for MC... well. I would much prefer different MC. I know what kind of sport anime it tries to become. We get the usual underdog story with useless MC that starts the sport in highschool. What's more though he doesn't even seem to have any special skills or qualities that could make him a good player. He is simple average guy that is stubborn and don't know when to give up and he pushes himself beyond the limits and... well isn't this is super typical protagonist, so typical that I have long since got sick of it. His set of qualities as a character is something that about every MC of underdog stories have with the exception that he doesn't have anything that makes him unique or memorable. Unless the memorable part are supposed to be those two pink circles on his cheeks. What are they doing there though? I don't know. Other than MC though, show looks great, no hints of superpowers either and I don't remember when was the last time I saw football anime. I will be watching this one for sure. Unless something bad happens. |
| Nice start. Tsukushi's determination as a rookie is remarkable (I kind of wonder why considering there isn't much passion he shows towards soccer in general so far, or I'm just missing out), and Jin also seems like a cool guy. Looking forward to both of their progress. Good OP and ED. |

| That was a really fulfilling episode. Was great to see Kazama and Tsukshi having fun in the first small game. That Kazama intercept and Tsukshi goal was glorious! Those are some harsh practices, Tsukushi's determination truly is something. I wonder what it is that keeps him going, It's not like he had a passion for football in the first place. | Wasn't the first chapter of the manga quite different from this? I'm just glad to finally see all the soccer scenes animated. And I hope they keep all the funny Kazama scenes. He's amazing. |

| Tsukushi is so freaking cute, I love how passionate he is and determined!!! This was such an enjoyable first episode I couldn't help myself from smiling because it was so feel good. I really like Kazuma's character |
| What ? They kinda changed the way kazama and tsukishi met . Someone was bullying tsukishi and then kazama stepped in to help and he then offered him to come play soccer with them . Too bad they changed that, it had some good comedy in it lol . Anyways, it's nothing that annoys me much since i freakin liked this episode. Don't mind tsukushi blushing much cause he's a nervous person here. And I'm liking the animated football scenes here . Lol tsukushi receiving the hit in his balls and bumping into the post were as funny as in the manga. Also kazama is as cool as in the manga especially with that interception . Lol watching italy vs germany and watching this at same time . |

| Didn't think that I'd like Tsukushi, but he's not a bad character at all. I was pretty hyped up for this anime, and the first episode didn't disappoint. |

| I'm surprised Tsukushi is even still alive after everything he went through in this episode. RIP to Tsukushi's balls. His foot toward the end was nasty, thank goodness I wasn't eating anything at that moment. I can already tell Tsukushi is gonna be that kind of MC who sucks complete horse shit at first but his stubborn personality will eventually lead to him becoming a great player. Nothing new of course, but I don't really mind, as long as I find it enjoyable. Pretty decent start so far, looking forward to more. |

| I haven't ever watched a soccer anime so I decided to pick this one up. Decent first episode. I really like Kazama. Tsukushi on the other hand the constant blushing is bugging me. I'm not the biggest fan of the complete beginner route in a sports anime but maybe it'll be good. If nothing else I gotta respect the effort and determination the MC showed this episode I really enjoyed seeing that. |

Well it didn't bother me much that they made kazama look as if he took an interest in him and had his eye on him and thus invited him. Plus, tsukishi didn't look like the person who would reject an offer or a person who approaches him considering kazama needed a sub asap. But taking the manga way definitely would have been better . |

| Best starting episode of the season as of now and what I believe that's gonna be a contender for AOTS. Incredible visuals, characters that have room to evolve, detailed character designs, as expected of MAPPA. |

| Tsuki-chan might be retarded at times, but what he did when they all went home is respectable, that's how you put in work and that's how you make it out there. Haven't seen a football series in a while so this is going to be fresh, also really love the VA for Tsuki-chan, great job. |

| The MC will be the death of this show for me. He's unlikable and has no talent whatsoever. Sure, he'll grow and maybe become useful, but he's not like the other MCs of shows such as Ace of Diamond, Kuroko, Haikyuu, etc. where they all continue to improve from their already existing talent. At least he's got spunk... |
