Remember when I said spring was looking worse than winter? Spring's worse than winter... maybe 1 show will break 10k, Macross Delta. Winter still has Koyomimonogatari coming out this week (next week's sales) which will be over 10K, probably over 20K.

Kabaneri didn't break even 8k..good..good..I hope the number of sales will keep dropping every new volume by 90% from the previous one's number of sales..so the last volume will sell no more than 10 units..XD

Edit: what the hell happened to Stalker estimates..? looks like those japs spent all their money buying Osomatsu-san so they're brock now and won't buy this season's anime BDs

Lol High School Fleet sells higher than Re:Zero. It's not like I'm complaining, since Haifuri deserves it. It's a great anime.

Will just copy-paste my comment from other site here....

Unranked in either format:
2016/06/22 Anne Happy v1
2016/06/22 Endride v1
2016/06/22 Gakusen Toshi Asterisk 2nd Season v1
2016/06/22 Sakamoto Desu ga? v1
2016/06/22 Shounen Maid v1
2016/06/22 TerraFormars Revenge v1
2016/06/24 Hundred v1
2016/06/24 Sousei no Onmyouji v1

Kinda shocked to not see sakamoto and sousei specialy sakamoto since it seemed to be kinda popular at jpn or am i wrong? and then anne happy, shounen maid as moe shows i thought it would sell atleast around 1,5k~2k and then we also got another flop of harem anime asterisk sold i guess around 1k…. and hundred was kinda expecting it i guess it maybe sold around 300~500 cuz i think its one of the worse of its genre that came out recently i really wonder how much longer they gonna keep makin this type of genre cuz its more and more clearly that each one of them flops so when i remember rakudai of 2.5k~3k sales average i think it did pretty good.

Also iam very dissapointed at this two SoL anime Tanaka-kun v1 sells 748 & Flying Witch v1 sells 2,593 just wow for me they are one of the best SoL anime that we got in this past years i could seriously watch 100+episodes of it and would enjoy every single one of it for sure. Well guess flying witch kinda did well with 2.5k but Tanaka to not even sell 1k just agh to painfull.

Anyway seeing not even one of the expected 10k to be selling is quite a huge bomb and makes me wonder what the heck is happening to the anime industry cuz this clearly cant be good and we are even getting more and more anime each year now so i really wonder how much longer they can keep up with this, kinda expecting a drop in amount of anime in the next years cuz it doesnt seem like they are makin much profit out bd-dvd anymore unless they will start to demand more money for streaming to get that missing money cuz else i dont see how much longer they can survive if this continues *_*

Second season of shit sales. This is sad for the entire industry.

Doesnt even look like Summer can save the entire year with Love Live alone. And with no high profile sequels coming out this year is probably going to be one of the worst in the last 6 years.

The Spring season i will admit has been lackluster compared to previous years... not even one show has managed to break 10k ...at this rate we are going to see another anime bubble and this time it will happen in japan itself.

Well at least my 2 fav shows of the spring have m anaged to sell well...High school fleet and RE:Zero but i am not like how the rates have been going down and down even further.

Japan really needs to slow down with so many anime productions goes it is being saturated to the breaking point that not even the best rated are selling high anymore.

It's ranking high ever since the 23th of June and it shows no sign of dropping to it'll most likely gain a decent boost over time. It should definitely make it to its estimate of 7,5-8k. Seeing how other shows like JoJo and Kabaneri dropped hard on the rankings I can see it surpassing them. So it's a game with the time.

Like pretty much every other title it got heavily overestimates by amazon stalker. Besides it has probably the strongest tail of them all so expect more sales to be generated in the upcoming weeks.

A bit disappointed in the small drop in Gintama sales. The previous volume did very good. Well, not saying this is bad either. Nice to see Re:Zero sell this much in BD form sad it didn't reach 7k like previous volume.

Basically this. The show had a lot of hype everywhere and considerable amount of stalker points so it was expected to do far better at least in 10k+-15k+ range . Not sure if it is a good thing or bad thing tho, considering the direction the show went into. I'll reserve my judgement on whether it deserves more or less sales till end of show.

Only western industry can save the industry or what ? Japanese people spend all their money in Osomatsu / Monogatari and Love Love which comez this summer ans he'll break 50k BD dvd sales.

It's currently (on Amazon) the top selling spring show right now.

Both JoJo and Kabaneri fell pretty hard after the initial release.

Did it really? It has practically no promotional campaign until this last few weeks where it's been picking up steam.

Shows like Kiznaiver (bombed), Stray Dogs, Kabaneri have huge marketing campaign and was hyped up before it even airs. Esp Kiznaiver ( with huge backing from multiple producers and advertisers) There are giant billboards of these shows.

expect the the next volumes/discs of Kabeneri to sell less like the usual case for disc sales, so maybe it will average around 4000 disc sales per volume, not bad for a noitamina show but not a major hit (that is usually >10K disc sales per volume)

Its literally the only show I see talked about everywhere both in JP sphere and in western sphere.

It might not have had a marketing campaign on level of Kabaneri, but the word of mouth is absolutely insane and almost reaching Madoka airing levels. And in the west, its basically this years Erased/Parasyte/FSN etc - aka the show that no matter what gains huge following of viewers.

You go to western sites and its all re;zero, bokuhero, re;zero, jojo, re;zero, boku hero. You go to jp stuff like 2chan and etc and its all the same too.

The show had considerable amount of stalker points too. Yet so far this is basically trailing lower than expected - around Rakudai level of sales - and that show had almost no hype anywhere despite being great.

Its just baffling.

I don't know about that but it's selling more than the studio/publisher were expecting.

1. No promotional campaign until recently because Kadokawa realized its catching on
2. Sold out in stores (because of low stock)

You can't expect 10K to 15K lol the entire industry is declining. JoJo which is hugely popular in Japan didn't even scrape 10K.

Uhm you don't seem to have an idea on how stalker points work because there was never any sign that it would "at least make it in 10k+-15k+ range. You're completely exaggerating here.

Its stalker point were at 7,5k at release time and it was suspected to be slightly underestimated since animate couldn't catch up on the high numbers on Amazon. It's always been expected to do numbers around that estimation and be one of the strongest shows post the release date which can be actually confirmed if one takes a look at the daily Oricon rankings.

Rakudai level? This show didn't even make 4k for its first volume and only managed a 2,5k average for the other 5 yet here we have close to 6.5k with a trend that strongly hints towards ~1,5k additional sales over the course of the next weeks.

So I don't know what you're trying to do here but you're twisting numbers.

You know he isn't even giving you correct numbers, so trying to argue might be useless here lol.

It's a slow burner and one of few shows that have a strong standpoint for more sales generated in the upcoming weeks as well as high average volume sales.

If you look at the Oricon rankings

then you see that it's holding its own even after the release date and the initial pre-order numbers. This indicates that it will have high post release sales so it's likely to break 8k if you give a bit more time. If you want a comparison. Shows like JoJo and Kabaneri dropped down hard.

Good for Osomatsu. Didn't get into the show, but anything that shows fujoshi buying power makes me happy. Bungou Stray Dogs doing pretty nice. Only thing is I wish JJBA had done a bit better. Those sales are still nice, but this part has been the best animated part so far so I wish it could have been higher. Oh well.

Funny, I always see discussion of different shows such as Bungou Stray Dogs and Kiznaiver. It's almost like anecdotal evidence doesn't really mean anything. Really, it just depends where you go. Tumblr and Twitter have since been taken over by Voltron, but before that it was mostly Kiznaiver, JJBA, and Bungou Stray Dogs posts you'd see.

Bungou discussions are pretty much dead in the west and alive in Japan, because you need actual knowledge of japanese literature and some knowledge on the famous writers lives to have a coherent meta discussion. For the west its just another shonen fighter, since western viewers are not that likely to read between the lines. Its not an example that can be used as measurement.

I am never taking Tumblr as definition of what is popular. Kiznaiver is literally show made for them.

Re;Zero I am seeing everywhere - most of major sites and reviewers are hyping it and covering it, it gets nice amount of traffic on 2ch and other japanese and chinese boards, its popular enough to have god knows how many manga versions running at the same time and the west is full of talks about it everywhere.

By the amount of the discussion and traffic you'd expect the sales to explode, yet they are merely okay.

I guess the japanese industry must be in REALLY poor condition right now if that amounts to basically ~5k sales. From the amount of coverage and hype I expected this to explode to basically SAO or Monogatari level of sales. The sales are still ok but feel underwhelming.

*2. 12,619 *12,619 Aria The Origination Blu-ray BOX

There is absolutely no other anime with around 10K or more disc sold for original release had its re-release more than tripled the total compared to the original numbers like Animation (10,105→34,593) and Natural (*9,649→30,662) in the past. Expecting Origination to do the same once the counter comes to a standstill. :')

ERASED which was talked about everywhere last season sold like 3k first week....

The new SAO stuff aint selling well either.

I mean just look at the entire chart. The highest selling spring show is just 7k.

If you think 6k sales is just "OK" then the show below it must be massive flops.

Yep we have an anime bubble at the moment.

To be fair a bunch of shows seem to have good post release sales. The best one would be Re:Zero followed by Bungo Stray Dogs and Haifuri so these will probably get another 1-2k depending on how consistent their ranking is.

I can see the sales being like that a few weeks from now

JoJo 8.5k ( Well ranked at first but it slipped down in rankings by a lot after the release date )
Re:Zero 8k ( Best ranked show this season even after the release date and the most consistent one )
Kabaneri 7.5k ( Same as JoJo )
Haifuri 7.5k-7.8k ( Same as Re:Zero but overall lower ranked )
Bungo Stray Dogs 7k ( Same as Re:Zero but as well overall lower ranked )

Here an outlook on how the rankings were for the past week.

Man, Aria really need a sequel so badly even though I know the show already has complete adaption.
But it's important to remember that a movie review is subjective;it only gives you one person's opinion.

It doesn't matter if you like LoGH,Monster etc.If you are a jobless or college/school dropout living in your mom basement, you are still an unintelligent loser. Taste in anime does not make you a better person. If elitist don't exist, casual pleb and shit taste also don't exist.

Second season of shit sales. This is sad for the entire industry.

Doesnt even look like Summer can save the entire year with Love Live alone. And with no high profile sequels coming out this year is probably going to be one of the worst in the last 6 years.

You're forgetting about UtaPri Season 4, which will do very well too, although not as good as Love Live Sunshine, unless the anime ends up being a disaster. It's true though, that there aren't many high profile sequels that can save this year besides those 2 (well technically Love Live Sunshine is an alternative point of view rather than a sequel). What needs to happen is a dark horse to emerge, such as Madoka Magica in 2011, or a totally unexpected breakthrough, such as Girls und Panzer in 2012.

I'm surprised that High School Fleet sold that much. It is ok show but noting special

Jojo, Re:zero and Kabaneri sales look decent but they deserve more than that (specially Re;zero and jojo)

No, it should have sold way less. Even 1 copy is too much for such a boring anime

Basically this. The show had a lot of hype everywhere and considerable amount of stalker points so it was expected to do far better at least in 10k+-15k+ range .

Bullshit. Re:zero was never expected to do anything higher than 7k - 8k. The sales are still better than how much it was initially expected to sell before it picked up steam.

I'm not worried about Re:Zero since it'll have more BD's in the long run.
Kabaneri's selling well because that's the only good part of it. :^)

But the 2nd cour aired in Winter, since it should have been a different entry.

I mean...I don't really know. It's complicated.

2016 hasn't had that many good shows and this is reflected in these poor sales. Both Aria and Osomatsu fly off the shelves after all. Disc revenue isn't dead yet.

With that said the anime industry needs to reinvent itself in the coming years or it will shrink into obscurity.

Btw has Joker game been released yet?

I'm expecting poor sales either way

KonoSuba is still doing well~ despite being less and less each months. Still 7k+ it's good.

Second season in January should hype them back up. *hoping for vol. 5 adaptation*

*1. 12,992 Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! (2016/3/25)

sasuga, Deen. They're saving anime. (except Sakamoto... the sales is dead, they should've put more work on KonoSuba than Sakamoto, still great though)

* 6,346 Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu

Was expecting a bit higher, but yeahh a sad time for anime this season. We need Deen to save anime with KonoSuba season 2.
