Disappointing to see how bad Kiznaiver's volume 1 sales are. Noragami, Concrete Revolutio and now this all doing badly sales wise, while generic ecchi harems sell in the thousands.

Well, Trigger's success sure didn't last long after Kill la Kill, did it?

I like how the GaruPan BDs are selling again with the success of the movie, and deservedly so. The show was great, and though I still need to watch the movie, I'm expecting great things from that as well.

So Kiznaiver bombed. I have mixed thoughts on the show itself but that does look pretty bad.

Glad to see Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin at the top this week.

Kiznaiver airs at 23:30. Maybe that's why people simply watch it, rather then bye BD? I don't have any other explanation why it bombed THIS hard.

The Japanese bluray/DVD releases cater to the collectors market, not the "blind buy in order to watch because it sounds vaguely interesting" market.

Kiznaiver would actually have to be good for this to be surprising. Though it's surprising the fujoshis didn't step up for this one, guess they are saving money for next season, it's gonna be a busy one.

It just wasn't good enough for everyone to like it..that is it...you can't expect this to be another kill la kill...japanese people need money and each volume is expensive it just it wasnt good enough for them to deem it worth it..simple as that.

Man, I liked Kiznaiver too. Oh well.

At least Gochiusa and GuP still rocking it. Doukyuusei and Dialovers tacked on a few more sales, so that's nice.

It's super forced het drama, why would the fujoshi want to buy it?

Ahahahahahahh TumblrFanficNaiver flopped hard. Hopefully this means Trigger sticks to actually good works instead of Okada over-drama "feels' fanfiction with characterization born in head of 12 year old emo high-schooler posting their edgy poems on tumblr.

Bad characters, no plot, shitloads of forced cringy drama and failure at pulling off pretentious concepts did NOT sell. Who woulda thunk.

Which is not bad?

I mean Luluco is MILES UPON MILES above Kiznaiver in quality.

Exactly this reason. Japanese fans do not have unlimited money to spend, and some also need to pay the bills, rent, etc. So what they need to do is go through a checklist (there are additional factors involved, but these are some of the main ones):

● Which anime did I enjoy watching?
● Out of these, which are re-watchable?
● Do any of these have nice bonuses bundled?

So, while a fan may like multiple anime in a single season, typically only 2-3 anime per season is bought, unless they are super rich or something.

Nijiiro Days manga volume 13 comes with an OVA this September 23rd, not next year. Is there an OVA coming next year too?

I've enjoyed the show though I wish they'd gone through the material just a bit faster...

Ooops my apologizes I had confuse the date but I agree I'm also enjoying the anime a lot but for some reason the anime seems to be selling terrible in Japan. Even Luck and Logic sold better, don't understand why when the anime had no plot.

Do you have any idea idea how much did vol 3 sell??

Ouch, sucks that Kiznaiver is selling very low.

Not sure about the Luluco sales, but I hope that Trigger, sales wise, can bounce back from this. Unlike a few others here, I won't be acting like a shithead and laugh at their sales flop. That's pretty much insulting the hard-working staff that works at the studio. D=

Unfortunately now that we've lost the extended rankings we will never know how poorly Nijiiro Days v3 sold. It did not show up in the full listings because sales of other shows were too high. Thresholds were 311 DVDs, 281 BD.

Trigger is not on the "production committee" (製作委員会) for Kiznaiver, so they were just paid ahead of time to animate it. They would not care at all about these poor sales, since they have no investment in the project compared to the members of the production committee. Of course, if Kiznaiver had sold amazingly well, then they would have probably wished they had an investment in the project.

The order given for the production committee is in descending order of how much investment was placed for the project, so it is Aniplex (アニプレックス) that cares the most here.
