| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Nice episode, really liked the fact that it shows how the cat lives at home while examining its surroundings. Eh, I think he made a careless mistake about breaking a bit of (figuratively) memories in the house.  Still, I really like the chemistry between the cat and owner. |

| Sunset and thinking about how they meet. It was her mother bringing it one day when she was little (Elementary to be exact). At first she got jealous of her mother tending the cat more than her. She tried get rid of it, but not only couldn't, she made friends through it. They spend together long that they think the same, even being hungry. |

| Damn, I almost cry watching this Anime So the girl didn't really like Daru at first, since Daru always "steal" her mom's attention. That's kinda funny, the way Daru referring the girl's hair as "fur". And when Daru accidentally break the cup and think the girl has "energized". |

| It doesn't follow the original's message, the cat here is just a cat, but he's suppose to be interpreted as a boyfriend as well. Girl moved, has no father and is having a hard time fitting in, until the cat unintentionally gave her a chance meeting :'( |

| Another great episode, it started slow but in the end emotions were all over the place. Really liked how one cat brought her girl friendship that lasted for many years. |

| It is certainly an average "slice-of-life" (today, the common "pet luring potential friends"), and I liked what I watched but when the credits start to roll I immediately think about how it has nothing to do with Shinkai's work. | Yet another beautiful episode. I love how they utilize those photo's to signify the girls memories and the passage of time. It leaves a very nostalgic feeling to viewers, one that's a bit sad despite nothing of the sort actually happening. The passage of time is a very nostalgic theme, specially for those who have experienced it, methinks. Recalling fond memories from your childhood always leaves you with a warm fuzzy feeling. I love how the series does it's best to depict this. |

| This short is such a fantastic change of pace compared to most of the other stuff airing this season. I watch all of the new episodes in a batch on Saturday morning and always watch this one last. You can really see Shinkai's framework in the way it appeals to the emotions while remaining wistful. That being said, knowing Shinkai I'm sure there'll be a tearjerker coming up. |

I only realized that with my second cat. My first cat was smart and mellow af. xD Figuratively, her father was probably the void in her heart. And Daru goes to fill it. Well said, this is likely the reason why many here get teary-eyed while watching the episodes, yet not knowing exactly what it is about the series that makes them feel this way. I like it when shows make evokes emotions from the audience in unexpected ways. For this episode though, I found it emotional when Daru was trying to cheer her up, and then thinking that she brought him underneath the bridge by the river to show him the beautiful view. I know he's a cat, but the thoughts were so pure and trusting. It was nice to see that because of him, she made a friend. |

| I love how they portray Daru, he thinks he understands the girl fully, but the truth is, he doesn't. At the same time, he understands her in his own special way, and I find that beautiful. |
