that reedition of the saiunkoku monogatari gaikotsu wo kou that is just cut in two instead of one volume actually managed to sell 15k for the second volume heh... Smells like fans wanting to read the afterwords from the author more than anything else there.

56 k+ for Konosuba this week it seems? Those sales are crazy.

And wait, since when did Famitsu bunko start to publish isekai titles as their best sales like that? 2 of their top 3 sales this month are isekai. Famitsu bunko, what the hell are you guys doing... Or is that the konosuba's anime influence that makes peoples suddenly raise their interest toward isekai novels?

It's really awesome to see all volumes of KonoSuba still stays on top 30, the pace looks the same as last week. It's nice to see a constant 5k-6k sales each week, but it's kind of slowing down now. I hope we'd get a second season since the novel really tops out the top 30 ranking each week as of today.

You mean the MAL ranking? That's just a compilation of all the entries that happen to be in the MAL DB into a single ranking list. It isn't necessarily a Top 30 or anything, and also doesn't mean that all in the list are actually considered light novels by Oricon.

Anyway, if we look at the official Oricon ranking lists, not all the KonoSuba volumes are in the Oricon Top 20 Light Novel Ranking, as the cut-off there is 5,769, but they are of course all present in the Oricon Top 50 Bunko Ranking.

I don't normally comment on LN sales ranking because I generally think the medium is absolute garbage that I want little if any part of (though I have occasionally enjoyed some adaptations with more tolerable premises and characters that are completely insufferable) but I guess I actually do have an observation to make for once. Simply put it looks like there's slight confirmation here that you don't need a monstrous budget and advertising or big names to give a significant boost to a LN series and garner it more popularity. I don't profess to know much about KonoSuba but just from clips I've seen it strikes me that it didn't have a lot of major financial backing and doesn't seem to come from Dengeki either. In a time when doors are rapidly closing in terms of competition and what can get by in this industry and how I can't see it as a bad thing even if it's a light novel franchise making things happen with limited resources.

That's about all I have to say, that and stuff besides Light and Visual novels really ought to start figuring out how to make a financial impact in the industry and finding audiences interest again. Seems like a really tall order the way the fanbase is now, but not entirely impossible just yet.

Go Kono Suba and Megumin.
But it's important to remember that a movie review is subjective;it only gives you one person's opinion.

It doesn't matter if you like LoGH,Monster etc.If you are a jobless or college/school dropout living in your mom basement, you are still an unintelligent loser. Taste in anime does not make you a better person. If elitist don't exist, casual pleb and shit taste also don't exist.

Vol.2: Wazamonogatari
Vol.3: Nademonogatari

Kenja no Mago has been a fairly big seller from the start. And almost everyone has an isekai title or two somewhere on their lineup now. It's down to the buyers to determine which of those series then become big sellers.

Toaru Ossan sure did really well. Konosuba boost is going strong as well.

Expected to see Kenja No Mago somewhere up there. Was very popular on shousetsu, also recieved a rather early publication+The vol's kept selling like hotcakes.

Way more surprised with this one tbh: Himajin, Maou no Sugata de Isekai e Vol.1

The thing is, famitsu bunko is a "generalist" label that doesn't especially try to restrain itself in specific genre. I simply hope they don't start to "specialize" just because it's currently selling.

They sure took note.
- Butchered and rushed LN adaptation like danmachi : best 2015 boost in several years for LN.
- most faithful LN adaptation in years with RnY the season right afterwards : the volumes already out never appeared in the oricon chart during the anime.

I mean danmachi is not very similar to rokka no yuusha or is it?

By content i meant the Light Novel , its doesn't matter if the anime butchers a lot of stuff or adapts it perfectly, that alone won't boost sales.

The Content is the most important.

I mean danmachi is not very similar to rokka no yuusha or is it?

By content i meant the Light Novel , its doesn't matter if the anime butchers a lot of stuff or adapts it perfectly, that alone won't boost sales.

The Content is the most important.

it's not similar indeed but in danmachi 's case they purposely butchered the part that wouldn't please anime watchers, extending the part that would please them, and rushed through content to avoid having them being annoyed by explanations more than 2 words long.

So this comes back pretty much to what I was saying before. Butcher stuff to appeal to the anime watcher : very good sales result. Be faithful including for stuff that won't appeal to it: poor sales result.

If they took note of the result from 2015,the future of faithful LN adaptation is grim.
