Umaru-chan v6, final volume , Series average: 4,217. Musume just had an ova announcement a few days ago and s2 is already strong..the end of the first hinted it and the author himself said he was interested. so chances for it are strong. Umaru-chan while not as a high seller had a lot of other products associated with it sell like hot cakes and got a manga boost so there is a chance for it but it is not as garunteed as musume. Poor Noragami i guess you can count s3 out as the first volume was sold with an even ticket and if sold that poor the rest of the volumes will most likely be lower. |

You don't even need to see statics just look at the sales. Look at Free!, KnB, Haikyuu, Yowamushi Pedal, Uta-Pri, Starmyu etc. That already tells how much fujoshis spend money. Even Osomatsu-san has a huge fujoshi following that affected the sales. There might not be statics but if you follow the fandom(s) you would see the fujoshi affect. Also it's not going to stop any time soon. Fujoshi's will keep spending the money for the shows they watch so it's not wrong to say they are the future because shows made for fujoshi's will not end and neither will the money that fujoshi's spend. It's very obvious. |

It's very obvious. I think there is a big difference between shows aimed at fujoshi and shows that have big fujoshi following. The two thing can be mutually exclusive which is in the case of half of the anime you listed (KnB, Haikyuu, Osomatsu-san, Yowa). This really doesn't mean there is going to be a trend of shows aimed at fujoshi imo. More often than not shows that are big with female fans don't really try to make an effort to appeal them. Female fans just happen to like them, which is the case for those shounen sports anime. And mega hits like Osomatsu just happen, without a strong emphasis on appealing to some people, they just happen from time to time. |

Barbatos and Gusion-Rebake Gunplas have been selling like hot cakes! And yet you have certain elements really trying to push this idea that Gundam is dying out and that the show is just absolutely bombing it hard. It's the most streamed Gundam show ever so I'm not really sure you can look at the ratings as a total indicator and the show seems to be selling pretty well on Blu-Ray (especially for a day time show) and then there's the model kits that seem to be doing very well. When the forecast for Gundam's profit margin is up for next year that's a good sign of confidence in the product, not a sign that it's declining into a death spiral which Bandai would admit publicly too for their franchises like the sagging sales of Aikatsu, lower performance of Yo-Kai watch compared to last year as well as the misfortunes of the Arcade scene in general. Still despite all this evidence from the company that runs it calling it a success (Gundam AGE was called a flop by Bandai for example so it's not like it doesn't happen) people still want to say it's a flop so I just don't know with fans these days, they'll believe what they want to. |

I think you misread my comment but, then again as I read my post again, I think I was not clear. I was actually trying to say that the disc numbers doesn't matter for Gundam IBO whether we think they are good or not. It is already a success because of the numbers of Gunplas they have sold. It is MAL where the show is treated as if it's one of the worst mecha anime ever, when in reality, content and execution-wise, it is the best mecha anime that aired since I dunno when. If anyone can name a better mecha TV anime that aired in recent years, I will slap myself so hard, that I will never mention Gundam IBO ever again. |

Haikyuu!! is killin' it. Awhh yeah. rederoin said: peeyaj said: OPM is selling well, but kinda disappointed with the amount of hype that did not translated into blockbuster sales Western hype never does that. To be fair, they never mentioned western hype and OPM is fairly popular in Japan. It's manga sales reflect that. Fujoshi on pixiv love it too. |

I imagine the delay Noragami had due to the whole music controversy didn't help either. I'm still hopeful that we'll see a season 3 eventually though. |

Nothing above 50k though... a normal weekend I guess. Congrats to Yowamushi Pedal Movie for reaching top 1 and also to Osomatsu for reaching 100k copies (y) |

Oh I know exactly what you're saying, just making note of the whole campaign in some venues to try to get people to acknowledge it as some sort of colossal failure when its just so not the case with AGE really being the only "Failed" Gundam series of the decade, especially considering the expectations of it. Even Barbatos' HG kit alone has been a huge hit, but a lot of people don't understand it's not all about the Blu-Rays and even then how is 12K for a daytime anime even remotely poor. Most daytime anime will never chart let alone get those kinds of numbers. I mean I don't see a lot of other mecha franchises with volumes spending regular time in the top 100 preorders on Amazon or Top 3 BDs for entire years like Origin so I just don't know how it could possibly be doing much better or what it takes for a Gundam series to not just belly flop in some peoples eyes lol. Just for the record, if I'm doing the math, huge gunpla sales that have the model kit line trending up for 2016 in projections, 50K+ sales for intro theme, 12K sales for first volume and at probably about 9K+ for second by now=huge flop that's the shame of an industry???? |

moodie said: the TV ratings also pretty bad as far as i remember. only showed once in a while in tv recording and it's not really impressive. even worse it aired not in late night and many late night series even higher than them.Kuma said: viewership is more important for nhk shows FallenDesire said: Fab to see Monster Musume finish with decent sales, looking forward to the OVA later this year. A shame Dance with Devils still selling poorly. Kuma said: 15. *,288 ***,288 Kyoukai no Rinne Vol.8 is this totaly failure? i don't remember manga bost either. Disc sales don't really matter for this series as, like Baby Steps, Log Horizon and others it aired on NHK-E which is government funded. That said the manga didn't really get a boost from what I remember. Either way S2 this April. specially when the anime is done well and its faithful u basically dont need to buy the source |
