Handa-kun at the top, well deserved! Same with Relife in the top 10 as well and I got a feeling that it will be a breakout series this year (once the anime begins to air). |

What a boring list this week. 41. 16,360 1,766,096 Shingeki no Kyojin Vol.18 XD once again, Snk is still on the list thanks to the low threshold. I think this is the longest a snk volume has been on the list. By at the end of February this volume will be at 1.8 million. Meaning, this volume will definitely sell more than volume 15, 2 million sales by the end of the year. Since volume 15 didn't reach 1.8 million until late May, when the first half sales was released back in 2015. |

Kingdom, Magi, Fairy Tail and Chihayafuru still selling, happy for them. Well Boku Dake ga Inai Machi, still got that awesome boost, there's a chance that each volume will reach 400k. |

Why the heck is the threshold so low again this week? Second week in a row the bottom 25 are below 20k each. |

It came out a few days after the beginning of the anime so it managed to stay in the list for more than 6 months thanks to very long anime boost. If you combine the regular and the collector edition then volume 18 is at 1,822,374 copies sold so far (10 weeks). In comparison volume 15 sold 1,901,038 copies (regular and collector) in 9 weeks. The collector editions with an OAD (volumes 12-16) sold a lot more compared to the other collector editions. |

Yea, I know that volume 12-16 limited edition sold more because those included ova's in them which are more interesting than key chains ect. I was just pointing out that volume 18 regular edition will definitely top volume 15 regular edition sales. Even though the reason is because a lot of people are not interested in vol 18 limited edition so they bough the RE instead. BTW where did you find the current sales for the limited edition of volume 18? Or you were just talking about the sales it had on its first week, since it left the list in the following week? Btw do you have info on the overall volume sales for snk for last year? Including the limited edition as well? |

(59 762) 10) New Prince of Tennis (58 375) Damn! Kingdom backlog sales is still going strong, not surprise since it has over 41volumes. That's not the reason. I mean One Piece has almost twice as many volumes, and it has far less for the week despite being a far more popular series. Not sure if there was any news posted on here about it, but for a couple of weeks, Kingdom had a little train exhibition thing which I think had a decent effect on the sales. Nothing crazy, but by looking at the top 500 you can see some of the older volumes popping up in the top 400 where it really hadn't before. It should go back down as the thingy ended and volume 41 is going to be leaving the top 50 in the next couple of weeks. Kingdom's volumes come out once every 3 months, so its next volume won't come out until mid April, so it should be pretty cold for a while until the new volume comes out. |

I used the first week sales of volume 18 collector edition since that's the only data available. Here are all the data I saved : http://imgur.com/qdEi9n9 Combine the number from the regular edition (from the yearly oricon list) and the collector edition (OAD 1 : volume 12, ..., OAD 5 : volume 16) and you should obtain the total sales for a volume according to Oricon (but still incomplete since the collector editions don't appear in the yearly list so we have to use the weekly lists). I didn't write volume 17 and volume 18's collector editions data but they should be easy to find in the weekly lists. |

Slow week again. Good thing about slow weeks is that more manga you may not have heard of or your faves pop up. It's a slow period in Japan since it follows the very busy December and Early January periods (New Years celebrations). There are rarely any important releases at this time. Look at the thresholds for the corresponding three weeks in 2013-2015 (Before 2013, we had a Top 30 rather than a Top 50 so no comparison can be made then):Why the heck is the threshold so low again this week? Second week in a row the bottom 25 are below 20k each. Actually we've had a Top 50 available since 2008, with a Top 100 from the more expensive Oricon Biz subscription... although the nice poster on 2ch stopped posting the Top 100 after awhile. 2010 See post 292 and 293 for the Top 100 for January 25~31, 2010. See post 295 and 296 for the Top 100 for February 1~7, 2010. 2011 See post 459 and 560 for the Top 50 for January 31~February 6, 2011. See post 460 and 560 for February 7~13, 2011. Kinda funny how quickly he will say snk is in a decline, but when people point op isn't selling as fast as the previous volume he has 100 excuses. Not to mention the fact that we have no idea how much the limited edition Ilof volume 18 is at right now. It only appeared on the list in the first week then drop off the list the week after. But with no knowledge on its exact sales it would be stupid enoigh to say snk is on a decline. Remember how everyone was saying snk was on a decline last year? when in actually the individual volumes sales has improved from the 2013 sales. Too bad we didn't get to see just how much the limited edition sold for volume 15 and 16. But going by the first half sales Im pretty sure they sold over 300k at least. And as you said before, the regular edition of volume 17 and 18 are selling way faster than the other volumes that had the limited edition ova's. Which shows that less people bought the keychain limited edition for these volume and just bought the regular edition instead. Volume 17 is already close to 1.8million and it's only February! Snk best volume last year didn't reach this feat until may! So the sales are actually stable, if we consider why volume 18 is selling so fast. Decline my ass. Its not snk fault that one piece isn't selling as fast as you may like it to be, go vent your frustration on something else. @AdmiralKizaru98 I don't even hate one piece, but your double standard knows no bounds. One piece isn't selling as fast as previous volumes, why aren't you saying one piece is in decline as well? Snk is a tricky one since it has a limited edition, who knows how much it has sold right now. Also I'm not a person that is quick to say a series is in decline. I would rather wait for the year to end before making that conclusion, since a volume of a series not selling as fast as the previous volume could mean people are simple not rushing to buy this volumes. Also folks don't drop a series like that after investing so many money on previous volumes. Can you imagine someone dropping one piece for eg. After buying over 80 volumes? The series must do something really bad to make a hardcore fan stop following the series. So I don't think one piece is in a decline, people are just not rushing out to buy this volume. You probably won't reply to me because You know what I'm saying is right,Idk, but I just got to take this off my chest. People call me a snk fanboy, but even I can still be rational and try to be unbias as much as possible. |

And as you said before, the regular edition of volume 17 and 18 are selling way faster than the other volumes that had the limited edition ova's. Oh One Piece is definitely selling as fast as I want it too, because thats the maximum a manga can probably reach. @AdmiralKizaru98 I don't even hate one piece, but your double standard knows no bounds. One piece isn't selling as fast as previous volumes, why aren't you saying one piece is in decline as well? People call me a snk fanboy, but even I can still be rational and try to be unbias as much as possible. Wow you wrote so much just because I assumed SnK is on a decline. And see, I do reply to you. Why so angry over something like this? I don't argue that the latest One Piece volume isn't doing well in comparison to the last one, yeah thats right. But to say that a whole series is on a decline because 1 volume sold like 30 or 40k less than the last one, especially in the case of One Piece, where that much doesnt make a difference because the volumes sell in the millions. Also the volume 76 sold incredibly well, then volume 77 and 78 didnt do that well, but then again volume 79 did very good and now volume 80 not doing so good. So this means that the there will some differences in sales. And some Volumes will sell more than others. The next volume could very well be selling more then previous one. But the important thing is that it always stays around 3.2 million a year per volume. and I bet that this volume will be around that level too Even if they sell worse than the previous ones its only a slight difference and they can always sell more with the next one. |
