To add a Tag/Genre Filter to our list page similar to the one in the search page.

A Tag filter is a filter that makes it possible for us to keep only series with certain tags such as Romance, Adventure, Action...etc in view in a user's List page. Of course it should also offer an Exclude function to hide series with certain tags, exactly like how the Search page work.

Many people ask for recommendation of certain genres or sometimes I wanna watch something from my "Plan to Watch" table or rewatch something from my "Completed" table that belongs to a certain genre.

When you have +500 titles in your completed list, you will definitely forget some titles never mind the genres. Also, the title in the "Plan to Watch" table are things you haven't watched yet and thus it won't be possible to remember what genres they belong to.

In the end, we currently have to read through the titles and open the info page of most of them to see the genres they belong to, which is not only time consuming but it becomes annoying after a while.

Adding a tag filter where you choose one or more tags and only the titles with the chosen tags remain visible while the rest disappear. That will be very convenient and save so much time.

This already exists. You need to enable the 'tags' column in your list settings for it to appear.

Here's an example with @PolCorre's list:

NO! This doesn't exist!! Did you read my post? The one you are mentioning is a tag column that the user adds the info in it manually. What I'm looking for is a Tag filter!

I gave an example in my explanation but I'll say it again. By tags, I meant the Action, Romance, Adventure ....etc tags. I want to have a checklist in the list page where I can choose one or more tags to filter the titles in my table either by highlighting the corresponding results of the tags I check or by making the everything other than the results disappear, hence keeping only the results visible.

The tag column that exists on MAL has nothing to do with this!

That is correct, but you can enter these tags manually and then filter by them. This is the function you are looking for, and it's already in place.

Automatic tag entry could probably be accomplished through a userscript.

Really now?!!! The tags are already entered for all the series on the site! I don't wanna see the actual tags in my table! I want a filter! I don't want to add a user script or add anything manually! Not to mention, I don't want the filter to work on my table only. One major way to use is to filter through tables of other users. Say I go some other user's list and want to see all the Adventure series in their list, How can I do that without the filter I am asking for?

The function I'm looking for isn't in place. Adding a user script means the function isn't in place.

Do you have anything against improving the functions on the site or something? Or do you have more time in your hand so that you prefer to do things manually and/or integrate user scripts for every function you wish for so the site will end up looking like a Frankenstein whenever you open it!

The filter already exists in the search pages. Integrating it into the list page should be a no-brainer.

Seconding this.

It would be very useful to filter by the genres on user anime or manga list. My completed list is not very long, but my PTW is, and I have to click through a lot of entries to find the genre I wish to watch. It's both time consuming and frustrating.

Yep! That's exactly one of the things I'm after. A Tag filter will unitize the PTW list to its maximum potential. Glad you agree!

Ah man, I feel the same way. I wanna sort through my 'completed' list easily especially when people are looking for genre-specific recommendations and I don't want to manually check.

I did something like this manually on my list. I just wish I could filter out the tags I don't want.
