I adore that Chihayafuru cover. They always look fab though, always. Consistently great sales for Fairy Tail again is good to see, best cover in a long tie as well. Nice to see Dagashi Kashi and Boku dake ga Inai Machi already having a visible boost. *6. *94,138 *,*94,138 Nobunaga Concerto Vol.13 12. *67,333 *,382,298 Shokugeki no Souma Vol.16 13. *65,371 *,*65,371 Baby Steps Vol.38 Always fab to see these 3 up there. Hoping for a S2 of Nobunaga Concerto at some point, superb series. Shokugeki steadily increasing and Baby Steps with decent first week sales, expecting it to hit 120k next week. |

*1. 195,065 *,195,065 Chihayafuru Vol.30 Absolutely adore it. Chihayafuru is probably the most popular Josei manga ever created; popularity doesn't always mean quality but it is a quality manga. We hardly ever see 5+ volumes for manga dedicated to the said demography, 10+ is even rarer, but to reach 30 volumes and still going so strong, it's an amazing feat. I hope MADHOUSE animates a third season, which is even rarer! |

Still waiting for Chihayafuru season 3. |
But it's important to remember that a movie review is subjective;it only gives you one person's opinion. http://www.classzone.com/books/lnetwork_gr08/page_build.cfm?content=analyz_media&ch=30 It doesn't matter if you like LoGH,Monster etc.If you are a jobless or college/school dropout living in your mom basement, you are still an unintelligent loser. Taste in anime does not make you a better person. If elitist don't exist, casual pleb and shit taste also don't exist. |

I dont get this mind set that if there is a super great chapter in a volume then the sales will be greater. I don't know how many buyers follow one piece weekly, but I'm pretty sure its in the minorty, for eg. The average buyers that buys the monthly magazine for snk is like 80k a month. While the majority follows it by buying the tankabon version which is over 2 million. So how the hell would the people that buys only the tankabon volume for one piece would know that luffy would turn into gear 4 in this volume? I can only understand if the buyers were all hype after reading the previous volume, that when the new volume came out they would go and buy it immediately. In most cases these stuff does little effect tbh. I also find it funny how people casually talk about luffy gear 4 in this thread as if everyone is caught up to the manga or anime. I got spoiled about gear 4th along time ago, but you guys should be respectfully and spoiler tag those stuff. |

G4 was a big hype, and OP fanbase is large in Japan, there's no way those tankobon only buyers never heard about it before the volume release. They also could read it from friends who buys weekly magazine. Just because you didn't buy the weekly magazine, doesn't mean you remain unaware about the latest event that happened in weekly magazine. And you could predict which chapter would included in the upcoming volume by counting from the latest volume. And If I'm not mistaken, the publisher give information to the buyers beforehand about which chapter would included in the volume, even OP wikia listed which chapter would included before volume release. |

Weekly shonen jump sells around 2.5 million weekly so 2.5 million people See the new chapter. One Piece volumes sell around 3.2 million by volume so most readers are reading it weekly. Also G 4 was also gea sei in the last chapter of the previous volume 78, so many people were hype for it. |

@Blackwallet. Ok, that sounds plausable. I will take your word for it. @AdmiralKizaru98 not saying I don't believe you, but do you have any prove for that? Like a link that shows how many people buy the magazine by weekly? |

One Piece magazine has 2.6 Million buyers and is estimated that 10 Million read the magazine every week. Is normal for one magazine to pass by many hands, specially the most popular manga magazine. Also this magazines are placed all over coffee shops and other places where you can go and read, for free!. Here the official info given by the publisher itself: http://adnavi.shueisha.co.jp/mediaguide/2015/pdf/boys.pdf This comment in Weekly Shounen Jump section : "わが国が誇る圧倒的な人気と面白さのコミック誌。 常に超人気作品を生みだし続けて、小、中、高、大 学生、社会人まで含め約1,000万人が読んでいる超 強力メディアです。" Translate to something like this "Comic magazine of overwhelming popularity and fun that our country is proud of. Since ever continues to create super-popular works to elementary, middle, high and college school Students, and even workers making about 10 million people that are reading this Powerful media." Note that Attack on Titan is a niche magazine. So niche that it even his called "Bessatsu" that means "Supplementary". Still just 1 chapter doesn't have that much influence in the numbers. What is most important is the hype/word of mouth around the series at that moment. |

That's why I assume it would be the same for all series. Thank you for clearing that up. |
