2 months left until I'm no longer technically a teenager. I don't think this will change anything at all since I'll still be at college. I like college but some of the people here are way too immature and just want to pick fights, cause drama, and break stuff. Hopefully adulthood will be a little better but I know these types will appear anywhere. At least I won't have to be around them 24/7 anymore (dorms SUCK).

You know, looking back, ages 14-17 were really some of the best times of my life. Every day was an adventure to me.

Not to say my current life is boring. Being older has it's advantages and it's own category of fun.

I guess one just can't be as carefree as they used to be...

Haha, this. Anyway I've moved out recently so it makes me feel more mature, also I think a lot of things changed since I was like 16-17... Yeah.

I'll be living at home/school for the next 3 years. Though I will be moving into apartments next year for school so that will feel a little better than dorms. Unlike most of my friends, I can't wait till I am older and out of college. There are so many things I want to do, but they require money and independence which I won't have until I graduate. Most of my friends just want to keep partying and having fun in college, but I want more out of life. I'm sure they'll realize there is more to life than college parties once they graduate, but they really seem stuck with that mindset right now.

I'm not even out of that age group yet. I'm no where near being out, which is a little depressing. The years have not been good on me, and neither have other teens. Therefore, Emily = No like teen years D<

I can't wait until I graduate and be more independent, even if it means more responsibility and such.

Everyone thinks this; then some day, could be when they're 22, could be when they're 50...they'll realize that childhood was the best days ever. Hell, I'm 17 years old and I'm regreting that I never made the most out of my highschool life. Now I'm a senior wishing it wouldn't end. :( When I say never made the most is an understatement....All I did was go to school, work, shaolin on Tuesdays/Thrusdays, and then the rest of the time I spent on the computer either studying, playing WoW, or rockin' it on the MAL forums...I've never even had a girlfriend...:(

So, to answer this threads question...even though I'm still not an adult, I don't want to not be a teenager...

I think both have their good and bad points, but I feel like adulthood will be much better. Mostly because I can start doing my own thing and won't have to rely on people so much.

Not really no. I mean when I was a young teenager I didn't have to work 9-5, I saw my friends every day, my parents did everything for me. Sixteen was the best.

Mostly I liked the feeling of thinking that I knew everything. Now I know that I know absolutely nothing about anything. I think the term 'blissfully unaware' comes into mind.

I'm 18. Does that still count as teenager because of the "teen" in Eighteen?
And now every time I see the number 8 I think...Endless Eight...
Dammit...

I never thought I knew everything. I've always been a realist, and as weird as this may sound, I was mature for my age, yet at the same time very NOT mature for my age. Does...that even make sense?

So in retrospect, I never really had a "teenager's life" because I was always aware of what was going on, financially, etc. and still didn't have a clue to wtf was going on (school happenings, and whatnot).

I'm in a weird spot as far as life is concerned. Not bad just...awkward. lol.

Still have one year to go before I'm no longer a teenager...

It's kinda scary though... Time really has gone by quickly!
I don't think anything will change just beecause I'm no longer a teenager. I'll still be me, and I'll probably still act like I'm 12 :b

I am not too far from 21 and for the first time now I want to be younger. I used to always want the independence and freedoms of being older. I finally realized that the best time was being a kid/teenager. I would give anything to be 16 again.

I'm not glad, at all. Being a teenager gave you so many freedoms like easy relationships, no burden of work, stupid things overlooked by others. But now at 22, I crave for that life. Work, more mature relationships which can last for the rest of your life (i'm not in one, as yet) and everyone around you expect you to act maturely. I can act a little immature at times, well more than a 'little' xD, so thats a big problem for me.

I sure as hell am too. Not saying my teens were a bad time, but even though life was easier then in school and not having too many worries, there were also too many constraints. I'm at university now, and I love living away from home, I have so much more freedom now, as well as not having my parents on my back all the time. Plus once you grow out of your teens you learn not to take everything so damn seriously, you realise there are much bigger issues in this world worth moaning about than trivial things which everyone else couldn't less about.

... I'm still a damned teenager. -_-

Almost 17, although I suppose in several ways I act much older. Makes up for the people around me who act much younger, I suppose.

But teenagers aren't all bad. Maybe I'm tired of the idiocy I have to deal with but at the same time I like the relatively low level of responsibility. Do your schoolwork, don't do drugs. Seems pretty easy to me.

This. I'm so glad that now I don't constantly get worked up over whether I'm wearing the wrong thing or saying the wrong thing or something...well I still do at times, but only during 'important' events now as opposed to like...every day at school haha. Being a teenager, at least for me, felt like being constantly under a microscope. I still feel that way occasionally (there will always be someone to please in life I guess) but it's such a relief to have stopped taking everything around me as seriously as if it were the end of the world!

People talk about being a teenager having less responsibility, but I don't feel like my level of responsibility has really changed a lot. Obviously that will be different once I finish my education, start my career, maybe have a family (not for a WHILE) etc, but I'm hoping that the life experiences I have between now and then will prepare me for those things pretty well, so yeah, the idea of 'responsibility' isn't really something that I see as a horrible future event to be dreaded.
