The Christmas episode, where a fluids research professor rediscovers the spark that, in his childhood, lead him down his life's path as a scholar. The little sub-story about the 4 candles was a nice touch, really driving home the Christmas spirit.

A woman named "Love". Wow, isn't that symbolic?

Miracles or hope. Well, this episode sure was cute in a way. For some reason though, the narrator's tone of voice irritated me in a way.

Not my most favorite episode as I disliked the professor but well the mix sure was interesting and the xmas theme was also pretty lovely! Let's see what the last episode has to offer us though.

Christmas is coming, I should try to see this again.

Anyway, it was a nice episode. A Scrooge-like teacher gets a second lease of life, through the mixing of beer and champagne to create a Black Velvet cocktail, a near-impossible drink to make. The drink made an excellent metaphor for many things: for two different things coexisting together, for the impossible being possible, for stars being created.

The story of the four candles was nice to see too, very apt for Christmas.

It was odd to see all the characters from the previous episodes, but then I guess it was a sign the show was ending.

Unlike the other more sentimental ones, this episode was on the comedic side. The professor was a bit annoying imo, but there are definitely people like that irl, who've become socially awkward due to dedicating their whole life on one thing. Ryuu did a great job dealing with him. I thought the professor was going to compare Black Velvet with a star, but nope, he compared it to BLACK VELVET! Lol.

The narrative is interesting, how characters from past episodes show up, break the fourth wall, and introduce things together.

This was my least favorite episode by far. Basically a mood killer with its silly music, goofy professor, the kiss, and everything else weird about this episode. Boo-urns.

Not the best the episode so far, in my opinion but it was nice tho. I loved seeing the characters from previous episodes telling the story and finally, the story of the four candles was the best part of all this, very hearth warming.

LOL this episode was the funniest hahaha

The Professor is a weirdo lol. We all know a pretty girl irl wouldn't go for someone like him at a bar unless he had the monies :P

And the other batenders shaking their head when Ryuu said anyone can make the Black Velvet like he does LMAAAOOOO xDDD

That "black velvet" sure made that professor drink his words, which shows science is powerless against the power of spirits.
I guess they have their own language.

Great Christmas episode which depict that alcohol is unpredictable.

Just one more episode of this non-stop snooze-fest. I really wish I hadn't added this to my list for the 2018 AWC. If I hadn't committed to it, I could've dropped it after episode 3. Oh well....here I go, on to the last episode.

This is a snooze fest to you? You'd think an old man like you would be into a show about alcohol and life's problems. This show is calm, relaxing, and informative, IMO.

Total snooze fest. And, to be honest, you'd think an old man like me wouldn't be watching anime at all...but here we are. Believe it or not, not everyone beyond their 20s looks forward to quiet evenings in front of the fireplace, working jigsaw puzzles and knitting their grandkids matching sweaters. I've got a lot of life left in me, as I hope you will when you also reach old age......cause it happens to everybody.

I was mostly joking/being rude, but yea I think you can be into actiony shows and slice of life stuff as well. Attack on titan (season 1 at least) and some of season 2 and 3 of My hero academia put me to sleep.

It's all a matter of preference. Snooze-fest for one person is masterpiece for another.

Important thing is to keep watching and have fun.

The Black Velvet drink was stunning for only two ingredients, made me possibly want to try it. Weirdly enough the Professor is true to real life crazies but I thought his field study for a story about liquor was quite the right fit.

Overall I wasn't into this very much at all. But then again I hate Christmas so maybe it's rubbing off on me?

Beer and champagne.. now that sounds interesting! I'm not a fan of Guinness, but I'd be down for a black velvet.

The creepy professor was written/animated/played extremely well and as it made me cringe with how loud/goofy he was being in such a sophisticated bar. Only one more episode.. boooooo.

It's a Christmas episode. I love it. The onoy thing that feels contrived is the kiss by that girl on the professor.

It's great because it has its own retelling of Pandora's Box in the 4 candles. I anticipated that the fourth candle was hope after peace, faith, and love went out.

It shows the struggles on social awkwardness of a nerd, something that I greatly relate on.

It seems that previous characters are also being used as narrators.
