The best episode of the season, imho, sad and sweet, and presents a good perspective to keep in mind when you start longing for the good old days.

Favourite episode. Makes me think of all the friends I've left behind, and all the good times I've had with past and current friends.

Yeah, easily the best Aria episode of the bunch. It hit close to home too, as I'm sure it did for many people.

I can only hope there will be more episodes like this to follow!

One of the best episodes of the series. The first half was very interesting and funny, I especially liked how Akira used to be like Aika-chan, and how the three of them met (Athena's song was lovely and when she lost her oar I laughed). The second part was kinda sad, but Akari-chan managed to bring a smile to my face with waving on the bridge, she is really cute. 5/5.

Best episode so far, we got some funny and interesting moment, Athena song was beautiful. The ending was sad, with the anticipation of a future where they will slowly split apart.

5/5

Probably not relevant anymore, but it is "Symphony" by Makino Yui.

Anyway, yeah it is a good episode, Showing the resemblance between the mentors and the students. It had alll sorts of happy and slightly sad things going on, with simple yet usable philoshophy too. And that is exactly what I like about Aria the most.

This episode is so touching T_T Although the "time goes by and things will change" theme is often used, I think this anime portrays the message very well. It's nice to see that Akari, Aika, and Alice are like how Alicia, Akira, and Athena were when they were singles. I love Athena's klutziness, she's hilarious! Her voice is really beautiful, and I like how much emotion there is to the song even though it's in a gibberish language. Beautiful episode!

Favourite ep of this series. :D Love it when the background music starts to play as Akari runs forward and bid them goodbye. It's as though she knows the day would come where the three of them would be like their seniors where they wouldnt meet up as often anymore..

Feel like I'm taking a step into the past for a moment, since I watched this years ago but...

If you were to choose an episode that attempts to embody the entire Aria series into one episode, I would choose Episode 11. This episode has always stuck out in my mind from the moment I first watched it. It's that "I'm gonna someday reach back in time just like they do and then reminisce this precious moment." moment. Then 2 months later I finished Origination and it reminded me of this moment again. This series has always held a certain place in my heart and the only other anime series that has stood up toe to toe with my only other absolute favorite.

In the end, it might also explain why I choose to make the Animation my favorite rather than the Origination, besides having what I consider the best OP of the series, Undine.

Wow completely blown away by this one. I've been enjoying Aria so far but never have I had that "wow" feeling. This one has it all, great comedy, great atmosphere, great music and above all heartfelt sentiment. It's going to be hard to top this one. Chapeau!

Best episode so far.
That said
It was still mostly boring and dragged on too long.
So it gets a 3.5/5

Athena's voice is so soothing and beautiful when she sings.

Akari was cute at the end waving to Alice and Aika on the bridge, she really treasures her time with them.

Ahh so this episode skipped a year from the last episode huh? At the beginning of the episode Akari said how this was her 2nd winter when last episode she was experiencing her first winter.

Anyways, BEST EPISODE YET.

I especially love the part where Aria was so fascinated with Athena dropping liquid onto the bunched of straw wrapper...priceless.

I hope there are more episodes like this throughout the series (and sequels), the atmosphere was perfect throughout.

I believe Aria the Animation actually covers her second year on Aqua, her first year is covered in the manga Aqua and parts of that are adapted in the second season of the show, The Natural.

Such a warm flashback episode. LOL at Athena hitting her head during the practices. I find Athena's singing voice to be very soothing and beautiful.

The Akira/Alicia/Athena training scene is hilarious. And I like how Aika's "embarrassing comments are prohibited" is breaking the 4th wall.

I agree with several of the other posters that Episode 11 is one of the best of Season 1. The reminiscences of the Prima's taking a break from their busy schedules reminds the juniors that their time of togetherness will someday come to an end. It was nice how emotional Akari was at the end and the city in winter. It really captured the mood for me.

Athena laughing made me LMAO.

Unnecessary comments aren't allowed. xD

Guess history repeats itself, there elders were identical to them and their relationship.

Dat bridge-butt. Gondola coming through, too. Athena imitating Alicia. I can't... too hilarous.

Athena's song! I am in heaven.

Aika's scream tho xD Akari staring at her friends walking away was a really powerful scene. I kept seeing that.

God, don't give me feels. I am not good with partings to begin with. Now I am thinking about all dat unnecessary stuff even more.

Amazing top notch episode, Aria. I wish I've seen this episode earlier in my years when I needed these messages.

Also, that bridge scene was the most gut wrenching in terms of feels I've seen. That scary feeling of Akari seeing all of her friends cross the bridge away from sight and the possibility of not seeing them again in a good long while.

After her rush towards the bridge, I seriously thought that she was gonna make a grandiose speech about how they'll be friends forever or something along the lines of the themes the episode was going off for. However, that cliche was adverted to a simple "see you tomorrow!" with her silly square embarrassed face. That had to be the most funniest and appropriate reaction I've ever seen.

P.S. my other thoughts echoed from everyone elses and that insert song was amazing. I usually don't care about those insert songs because some shows shoe-horn it in nowadays but this felt so appropriate and fitting.

Edit: Thank you to the other posters for the name of the song!

Aria, where have you been in all of my life.

That moment with Akari at the end is still among my favorites in the series. I could feel tears streaming down my face at that part, this episode was complete gold. "Those were good times, as well." I like that bit that Akira, Alice, and Athena said about enjoying both the past and present. It's something that's taken me a long time to realize when I was constantly living in my "glory days."

And why did it take me a rewatch to realize how wonderful Athena's personality truly is? I feel ashamed.

I like how instead of doing a more corny thing like running after them and hugging them, they keep Akari in character and she does an awkward wave while yelling their names. Getting older and having less time to spend with friends really is a sad part of life. It's nice that they handled the topic well with this episode.
