The first key visual is debuting at the Shibuya Q's wall display in Tokyo on Sunday, and it will then be at Animate stores nationwide starting February 18. Whelp the fact they are using Animate to market this show means its not for me. Oh well |

Gundam Build Fighters is fantastic as is Code Geass Akito The Exiled and Gundam Unicorn to name a few, but thanks for your uninformed opinion. Anyway the whole superseding Gundam thing is typical Aniplex arrogance and hyping so I wouldn't put too much weight behind it but there's no reason this can't still be a good show. It just annoys me how their basic approach is to everything is to throw currently popular staff names at each other, get them to try to work together and then hype the crap out of the show with over the top statements. You can't just surpass an all time classic by doing the exact same thing you always do, especially considering Gundam's legacy came down to a lot of special circumstances and being a formative anime at a time when the industry was still finding it's footing and audience. My prediction based on Aniplex staff choice habits is one of Yuki Kajiura, Hiroyuki Sawano or Taku Iwasaki on music. These are names people like and which inspire a lot of hype similar to Gen Urobuchi and "That guy that directed Fate/Zero which was also hyped to the highest of heights" will be used to pull in people that are on the fence about watching the show. Seriously though I know I sound cynical as hell and am a bit when it comes to Aniplex but my love of mecha will probably over take it before long....it's just going to be really hard not to crack wise about some of these things as it's airing. |
