Just did a quick re-watch.

Agreed; what little is explained has been explained badly. So what? It was entertaining to watch; even if it had no other redeeming features it's still got a 6-8 for that. Catchy tunes, horrid lyrics, horrid engrish, Worth watching but I did find myself skipping sections during my re-watch.

Feli, Layton, Leerin, and Georgio + Monkey were the characters i enjoyed watching the most in that order. Everyone had a moment that was theirs alone. The dite mechanic was forgettable but I've always had a soft spot for the hard working techies.

Most useless character... Ms. Antalk could have been replaced with Anyone. Her special talking to electronic fairies ability is practically ignored. Besides Tonfa's are terrible weapons in video games and even animes. Look at Taishi Ci; that poor poor red coated fellow. The only person I've ever seen use a Tonfa competently was the 'cloud' discipline committee dude from Hitman. Even then he's such a nasty sob that it wouldn't matter What he used.

Rant aside, surfing I could deal with... I've seen far more ridiculous power ups. The air cleansing barrier pillars? They had to be able to show the funky hair blowing in the wind. The weeping left eye? Not a problem. However beating the big baddy that has had more screen time, plotting, talking, scenes ect. Then some of the starting cast... Without a fight or using a single ability. That was retarded.

I happily look forward to a season two as I enjoyed it. However it will have to have an actual plot. Otherwise I fear I may end up dropping it.

Big WTF end... But I think Chrome is great series. I like plot, it's not boring at all. Art sometimes is not good, but I don't mind xD.

And "wtf inserts" with Saya and badass men it's not a movie that characters was watching during series? They are real and from another world... I don't get it >_<

Anyway I enjoyed this show. 9/10. And looking for 2nd season ^^

ps: Felli is so cute when angry <3 I like her bonebreak kick xD

I fucking love Shante! Nekomimi rebreather helmets are fucking awesome and her useless tail on her suit... pure win!

Other than that this anime is one big contradiction after another. After building up so much drama over so many plot points, when the climax for that happens, its done in less than 3 minutes. Why Layfon's original crew play a bigger role?!? Alot of other things i can rage about but those are the big ones. Also, What the hell is up with the engrish subplot? After it finished, it made no sense whatsoever. "okay so saya is from an alternate dimension" All that to build it up to that "saya" will save the day? Comon, Enduring over 1000 words of engrish should be more eventful than that.

If there is another bad season of this i'll probably watch it out of obligation. But the 3/10 art style 4/10 storyline and the 2/10 romance, really pretty much sums up this whole series. Even the final episode didn't even look good, the only difference in detail is that there is alot more wind blowing.
I mean this was supposed to be made in 2009.... Rosario Vampire has better production value than this crapshoot.

I just finished re-watching the anime and I totally love it, 9/10. The only bad char was Leerin, she's so annoying and useless all the time -_-" if she hadn't waited with the Katana Layfon wouldn't be beaten up. Stupid girl... But I totally loved this anime, too bad there isn't a second season!

I'm giving it a 6/10

- horrible pacing
- too many questions left unanswered
- annoying characters getting too much screentime (I'm looking at you, Nina)

like someone said before, this episode should have been three episodes. It really felt rushed.

I think the heavens blade users should have received more screentime, some of them actually looked interesting (as opposed to the trio of annoying girls on Zuellni)

I really hate giving this show such a 6/10, mostly because I loved the first couple episodes (I love the barren wasteland setting)

As for the sword-riding Layfon? Terrible.

And don't get me started on the engrish, just no.
Couldn't have said it better. Only that I am not even giving it a 6. A 4 or a 5 at most is more suitable for this anime. I mean, honestly, even if we only looks at the ending, it was terrible. The baddest guy in the whole show went flying after just one hit (was it even a hit?) with the sword that flies and defends irritating characters by itself, and lets not forget, can carry passengers.

And about the only good fight there ever was in this show was the one in episode one, when the three fought that mature filth monster...

Too bad this episode was rushed, it had some great moments. I still don't understand many things about the plot either. 4/5.

The wholes series I'm not that much of a fan of action/adventure/fantasy mixes but this anime delivered. Unlike some other franchises, for example Index, I was sucked into this show and didn't facepalm every second episode over something so ludicrous that even an anime would look stupid incorporating in. Sure, it had it's flaws which could have been avoided, but I think they did a wonderful job of delivering a decent series. It was good and I enjoyed it so much. Giving it a 9/10.

Too bad Layfon didn't choose Felli, I really liked them together. It was nice to get that last kick, well done Felli, that guy is really an idiot, isn't he?

I thought the series in its entirety was a lot like 07-ghost in that they both left too many unanswered questions for me to really like it. I thought they both had a lot of potential and could have been really good, but too many things left unverified. 2nd season is definitely needed in order to explain some things and keep fans happy. :D

I'm a little confused but I really enjoy it. I wish Layfon stayed with Leerin but at least he still writes her letters. I think Nina should have died there, to be honest.

I really love Fon Fon, sigh. Im a sucker for his type.

I really enjoyed this series, but it was far too rushed. I wish the creators had stuck with one main arc, with a few episodes of filler. Trying to cram so much info into the season is what killed it for me.

I would have spent the first season focusing on the build-up to the municipal battle. Other than Nina's interest, I didn't get the sense of impending doom that was implied during the first episode. The "crisis" over the haikizoku was severely rushed, and felt more like a MacGuffin than an actual threat to anything, especially after Layfon was able to utterly kick Savaris' ass with little effort.

I'll disagree with a few people here, because I actually liked Nina. She was strong-willed, and passionate about doing her best for her city. However, she needed to be toned down quite a bit. Spread out a lot of the plot-lines that focus on her, and she would have easily been a more appealing character. The Fon-Fon/Felli relationship was really great, but I didn't feel any chemistry between Leerin and Layfon. She seemed fairly useless and unnecessary.

The final battle between Savaris and Layfon was very disappointing. Granted, I am glad it wasn't spread out like in Bleach or Naruto with even the most mundane battle lasting seven or eight episodes. Still, it never felt epic to me. Hell, the battle with Haia was more interesting.

The surfing scene was completely retarded. There was no need for it.

Also, Barmelin was awesome. She deserves her own spin-off series, or at the very least have her visit Zuellni often. A Barmelin/Sharnid/Shena love triangle would be truly epic.

Overall, I gave it a 7/10. It would have been a higher score, but the surfing killed it for me. If there ever is another season, I would love to see things slowed down, and not jumbled together like a shitty omelet from IHOP.

I give this a 8.5/10 so a 9 lol. Hopefully there is a second season though I want to know much more about the other Heaven Blades and the wolf mask dudes.

If there isnt a second season in this Ill have to lower my rating to a 7/10.

Not bad, not brilliant, so many questions left to be answered. Here's a couple of them; what is saya? why the hell can layfon fly on a sword? what is face-man? who is dick?

Gaaaaaaaaah. Didn't like the ending, watched it four years later and no season 2. There goes my hope. Looks like I'm better of reading the LN. So many unexplained things, like that other world concept.

Eh, the ending felt rushed and lacked the impact it could have had with more struggle added to the mix. Although that katana heaven's blade was pretty sweet, wish they would have shown more of it!

Overall this series turned out to be fairly enjoyable. It had a good amount of action and drama. Although there were a few problems I had with it, such as the scatterbrained story and unanswered questions about Ignasis, Regios, and Saya (along with the rest of those Engrish folks). The ending points towards a new season but since there's none in sight, it's a shame to see it stop here. Without the sudden twists they added in the last two episodes, the ending was satisfying otherwise.

Also as it's been pointed out, the harem elements felt out of place and unnecessary.

Is this really an action show? The fight with Savaris was so disappointing. Pew pew...then magic sword comes flying at Fonfon and then he defeats RamSavaris in one blow.

6/10. It was interesting at first. I expected more :/

Average end for an average anime.

The Fallen One thing was so uneventfully solved.

Best part of the anime: Felli
2nd best part: Legend of Regios (engrish ftw)

It was "average" in my opinion. The fight between Layfon and Savalis was just a joke, one red beam, layfon's heaven's blade reflects it and boom gone. Besides the contaminoid was slaughtered with 1 strike of layfon with just the added beamcannon. In the end I still don't understand the whole "saya" story, which we saw multiple times suddenlky during an episode. It definitely had a good start but I expected more explanations about the flashbacks of saya and what it has to do with all those contaminoids.

LOL Nina trying to give advice as they ship her away. haha. Way to make that useless side character look more badass than usual. Good things she's a useless blob. Nina's face occasionally popping up to give Layton his "support" ruined it for me. Some dialogue was worse than expected.
Underwhelming at the very end, but very badass for the action scenes. Layfon was a protagonist with balls I like.
Still a big shipper of LayfonxFelli but that does not look like it will happen....

Solid 3.5/5, didn't stand out too much, but it was a solid watch.

Overall it was a fine anime, but it could be so much better if they had explained all those questions that they showed in the last episodes. I believe that this show lost his focus. In the beginning it looked like they would focus in the fights between cities, but actually they didn't shown any battle intercities which was very frustrating to me. Another problem was the unnecessary focus on Mei-shin and her friends, that would never add nothing important to the plot. In several episodes we saw people trying to discover Layfon's secrets but instead they should have developed the other heavens blade characters. I have no idea what this Saya girl do and neither the Dick guy. I don't think a second season would fix the problems that they did in this one. This anime deserve a 6/10 and nothing more

The last counter for rampaging Savaris was a joke.. pffft.
In the end there was no inter-municipal war lol.
Nina calling the guy dick made me laugh.
Well it was enjoyable enough to pass through.
Despite finding the story and some things confusing it was fine.
Many speculations can be made but there was no clear answer given.. at least to me.
I doubt those who didn't read the novel to know what's actually going on.

At the start I knew this would turn into a bad typical harem school magic kind of anime.
BUT oh man...never would I have guessed that I would actually like this anime! Most probably because I like the characters for some reason.
