As it wasn't part of the original Disney/Ghibli deal it was open game for someone. I can now 'retire' my Japanese R2 DVD when it arrives (providing it is of the same quality).

Erm. 16 1/2. They have put it back six months to January 2010 along with the cinema release of Ponyo.

Somewhat of a double let down by Optimum as the UK will be the last country in the world to get Ponyo on general release. But at least I have the Japanese DVD release at home.

this story is so sweet and heart warming i love everything about it i just wish that it was dubbed for curiosity sake i want to know what actors would they pick because the sub is amazing just perfect :3 i love it very much i love all of the characters each and everyone they are awesome. Japanese voice actors are just superb they made the characters come to life and i felt this is happening to one of my friends.. the story is so great and unique you can relate to at least one character i did the plot is easy going but so sweet at the same time you have drama ghibli did it again another wonderful masterpiece i will remember forever and ever :3
