----------------------------------------
Well, the Salome and Iokanaan/Jochanan reference was an interesting theme for the episode to be based around. The story of John the Baptist is from the Bible, but it was Oscar Wilde’s version that gave Salome such an interesting character. I guess the main parallel between Salome and Solomon is how they both are in love with someone they can’t have, along with the whole kissing-the-head thing. If nothing else, it also shows how crazy James became. Incidentally, you can read the full text of Oscar Wilde’s Salome here.

The disappointment of this episode was not that Solomon died so much as how he died. It wasn’t that he was slain in the heat of battle, but rather that he got nicked by Saya’s sword as James was dropping it - that’s a really lame way. And I didn’t like that he then waited to die in an alley, though I guess dying in Amshel’s arms is somewhat fitting. At least Solomon got to become Saya’s Chevalier, if only in name and only for a short period of time. Of course, there’s always the tiny chance that Amshel has something up his sleeve to save Solomon, but I highly doubt that, particularly since Nathan made it clear to Diva that it’s just him and Amshel now as her Chevaliers. That hinges on the assumption that Nathan knows what’s going on, including all of Amshel’s moves.

That also brings up the point again of whether Nathan or Amshel is stronger or is the bigger bad guy. Once again, we see Nathan using his serious tone and Amshel not talking back to him. I still want to believe that Amshel is the final boss and that he’s just letting Nathan have his way for now, but certainly they’re portraying Nathan as a much stronger character than previously.

They killed off Solomon in the most lamest way, a scratch from Saya's sword from falling from the sky... pathetic. Everything from here feels rushed now, killing off two chevaliers in one episode, quite disappointed, but now I'm more interested in Nathan though Solomon is my favorite Chevalier out of all of them.

I was so so sad when I watched this episode ( a while ago now). Solomon was my favorite chevalier and I would've supported his relationship with Saya if it ever occurred. I wasn't sure at first how he died-- I didn't even notice the scratch scene until I read about it here. At first I seriously thought it was because he lost too much blood and literally could not sustain himself longer. But I guess killing him with the sword, although some find it lame is symbolic and fitting--his love for Saya really did kill him (the sword scratched just above his heart, right?)

I think Nathan might actually be the boss, which I would love considering his character--in the opening sequence when Saya is attacking a chiroptera on top of the Chrysler building, she's attacking one that looks a lot like Nathan's chiroptera form and possesses the long arms like him. Can't wait to see how they end this show!

Goodbye Solomon. In the end your greatest contribution to Saya may have been that you "overcame your blood"...

Poor Diva--she doesn't even know what to call the affection she feels for her children.
Please don't feed the trolls!

R.I.P Solomon. He deserved a better death though; dying in an alley was just insulting to his image.

I can't tell who is the stronger Chevalier - Nathan or Amshel. Nathan's serious tone seems to intimidate him, so I guess I could take that as a sign of superiority, but it's still too early to tell.

I think Nathan knows everything thats going on and I believe he is equally as strong, if not stronger, as Amshel. His serious tone is so dam cool to see and how Amshel basically just takes it as if he was scared of him not as much as James but yea.

Quite ironic how Solomon died, but I guess that's bittersweet since he became Saya's chevalier. She can't fight for much longer I wonder how they're going to end this. She needs some roids or something haha.

4/5

Plot that sees the end of James and Salomon, now it is winding down, and must also explain how it could happen that suddenly James, has shown signs of "brands." No one escapes his fate, even though Salomon is really unfortunate, what will be discovered? What does it do Anshel with Diva? And how it will move then the other Chevalier Diva? Curious! * _ *
Narrative full of pathos, now is the time to drop the axles were in hand! I hope there are clashes worthy of praise.

It gets... annoying how many times Saya and friends are saved via deus ex machina. Plus how many times Haji gets his ass whooped. He needs a drink right alongside Worf.

Haaaajiiiii. Just say it, dammit! Just say something! I swear I get the urge to slap him when he's like that. This looks like such an one-sided!Haji x Saya, that it hurts.
And I don't like the Kai x Saya vibe. At all. The Mao x Reporter thing is intriguing. And Julia x David is dragging too much already.

I get the impression that Nathan is the most loyal and powerful of Diva's Chevaliers. And that makes him the most dangerous.
Solomon :'(

I wonder if Saya is not so weak because she doesn't actually drink blood. Weren't the queens supposed to drink blood from their Chevaliers?

Wow, Saya is so useless. Ever since episode one I've been waiting for her to pull herself together and kick some ass, but she's consistently failed to do so over and over and over again and now with only three episodes left and Saya entering her thirty year slumber I think it's safe to say she is completely useless. Seriously, the enemy overpowers her so drastically that they could have ended her life any time they wanted to. If Diva was serious about wanting to kill Saya, it would have happened over thirty episodes ago when they met at the zoo. The fact that they left us with a cliffhanger where Saya was left on the ship during episode 33, only to not tell us anything that happened afterwards and then proceeded to skip time ahead by an entire year just goes to show that even the guy(s) writing this story had no clue how to explain how Saya didn't die on that ship and decided to ignore it and pretend it didn't happen. Seriously, Saya does not and has not ever stood any chance against Diva and her crew. Regardless of how much she claims that she must fight and regardless of how much everyone says that she is their only hope, she consistently ends up getting her ass kicked and every single time someone (usually almost always Haji) has to save her. Why does Diva have killer Chiropteran powers, and yet Saya has the power of a schoolgirl? Literally the ONLY thing that Saya has going for her is the fact that her blood crystallizes enemy Chiroptera, however aside from James (who only died because of external circumstances, i.e. Haji ripping off some of his armor to expose a weak point, or the thorn miraculously taking effect at just the right moment) Saya has killed absolutely nobody of importance. In fact, her blood has killed more allies than enemies; Irene and Solomon. You could pretend like Phantom's death counts, but in my opinion it really doesn't because he had her in a death grip and was about to kill her and the only reason she managed to stab him in the end was because Solomon showed up at just the perfect time to slice Phantom's arms off (which in and of itself is a feat Saya couldn't even dream of accomplishing). The only way I can see this series realistically progress over the next three episodes is by Diva going in to finish Saya off now that she is even more useless than ever before due to her fatigue (even though Diva could have finished Saya off any time she wanted by just sneezing in her direction), then she slaughters the remaining members of Red Shield and then proceeds to rule the new world dominated by Chiroptera as their queen. That is seriously the only plausible conclusion to the story at this point, but I know that they would never end the story like that and I'm going to see some sort of bullshit plot twist that just does away with all sense and reason and Saya is going to kill Diva and the world will be saved and yadda-yadda.

I really felt this anime had a lot of potential, but it was all wasted. During the first half of the series when we still hadn't seen much of Diva's power and Saya still had the possibility to grow stronger and perhaps learn to use some Chiropteran powers to give herself the edge that she needs I felt like I was going to give this series a 9/10, but now I can safely say it barely scrapes up a 7.
Some parts of this post may be exaggerated.

how weak you can become when facing true love, it could just lead you to your own pathetic end without any chances to act logically. Poor Solomon I did really fancy you as Amshel did I believe...so sad

It was very boring to have James come back just to taunt them with 'you can't get me!' and then they do. The Chiro battles aren't very fun.
I would have felt more about Solomon if his feelings had any basis. Saya has done very little to deserve this admiration. Maybe it was in her former life? But she hasn't shown the kindness, strength, or courage to warrant a life-destroying passion. It would have been nice if Saya had saved Solomon's life at some point. We know he thought she was beautiful at Lycee ball, but I imagine Saya and Diva are comparable in beauty, and his talk about 'going against his blood' makes it clear it's not about the fact they can produce children together. Haji's devotion makes more sense since they've been together from the start.
DO SOMETHING SAYA!

Karl and James get arms and legs chopped off by Saya, still live long enough to be healed.

Solomon gets a tiny scratch on the chest and dies within minutes. Tough luck.

And how convenient that the Thorn manifested in a matter of seconds.
