This episode was pretty freaky. I liked how Edward seemed so human and acted so much like his age when he was being attacked by the serail killer dude. And it was cool to see his old friend again^.^

Besides the fillers, the original FMA anime is very good indeed, and this ep showed this perfectly.

It's nice to actually see emotion in the hero. Often times in Shoujo action when the boys get into fights they're always cool when they get hurt but Ed actually shows HUMAN emotions.
I also love Al :D

man after just recovering from the shock from Nina's case, another crazy person comes around(the true killer of ladies)

yeah Edward kinda felt helpless in the scene, but i like that since he's not used to military work yet.

great to see Winry back!!!!!!!!!

so the sunglasses guy is still there watching from the shadows.

Edward the Fullmetal Alchemist!!!!!!!!

i like that :)

amazing show, and we still have 43 episodes left!!!!!

It's nice to see Winry make a return, although I knew from the start that she'd be in trouble if she got involved. Tends to happen a lot with those type of characters.

I was definitely thinking the same. Glad to see he was acting realistically. Have to say I definitely feel like I've been missing out though. It took me way too long to watch this and it's kind of amazing. If Brotherhood really is better I can't wait to finish this lol

Kind of refreshing to see a protagonist suitably terrified rather than acting like a badass.

Been seeing a few parallels with D.Gray-man as I've been watching this. Ed and Allen are certainly extremely alike as protagonists. Hughes and Komui are similar too.

Disappointed. This ep. really felt like filler, and muddies the canon a bit.
I don't like the way Winry gets into trouble in this ep. She's not that kind of girl.
Your mean should be an even bell curve only if you watch every show that comes out. Having a high-slung mean doesn't mean you're rating improperly. It can also mean you're selecting shows well to watch mostly things you enjoy.

i keep surprising my self how fast his anime goes and still can bring allot of surprises and new things.

i didn't expect the serial killer to be so random i actually thought about the man with the tattoo on his arm.

it was good to see not everything goes right what Ed does and now he even acted really human and as its age that is really something i am happy with.

"Urushibara Ruka. The mannerisms and voice of a woman... No... More feminine than any woman. But he's a guy. Taller than Mayuri, but so very thin... But he's a guy. Looks great in a miko outfit... But he's a guy. It's already twilight And yet, it's so hot. The cicadas are crying. But... He's a guy."

Like others have said, I'm glad that Elric was actually terrified. If a 12 year old boy wasn't terrified of what just happened, then it would have been really annoying. It's great that there are realistic emotions in this already. This show is putting a lot of emotions into the viewers really fast; I can't wait to get farther in this series.

Thought this was one pretty contrived. Preferred to think the killings were done by the guy last episode in process of making his chimera, rather than by BARRY with a facemask.

Couple of footprints in the street by a screw, and he's found the killer, and knows it's Winry! C'monnnnnn

Seeing Ed actually acting like a 12 year old being scared for his life like that made it feel more realistic too. And I'm glad Winry finally appeared! Great entrance episode for her too.

In the first episode, which appears to be set farther into the future, Ed was pretty fearless in the face of danger. What I liked so much about this episode, like others, is how Ed was so terrified. I will enjoy seeing the progression from this scared boy to the badarse Fullmetal Alchemist that he becomes. -- 4/5

The episode is unfortunately too short and some details intentionally or not, are skipped just to get to the crux of the matter. More satisfied that disappointed the risulatto obtained at the end, very introspective narration, everything is good. The characters grow and the story progresses, interesting. My favorite though is Alphonse, is much sweeter and even smarter than Ed.

Also, that last scene. Looks like that guy is gonna attack next episode!

Yea I like Al more than Ed as well. Their character's balance each other out well though. Winrey is a fun character as well. Great episode liked how dark it was.

Another solid episode. Still predictable, but it was good nontheless.

One thing though, is that Alphonse' english VA is fucking terrible. That scene where Ed was crying was brilliant with Vic Mignogna acting his heart out, and then fucking Alphonse comes and delievers the most flat lines I've ever heard

This episode was better in FMAB - delivered on emotional level better. But it was still really creepy when you hear the chimera say "nii... san" and you realise that's Nina.

Whenever I come across any character that Keiji Fujiwara has voiced I recognise instantly. Decided to look up the VA for Maes Hughes to confirm my suspicion and sure enough it is! One of my favourite VAs. He sounds so much younger than I'm used to, but still that distinctive voice you can't miss it.

Yeah, it was good seeing him being human and not being able to beat everyone he meets.

The guy that killed Nina is most likely going to keep track on Edward.

Wow, what a great episode. I'm so glad they let Ed be scared and panicked like a real 12 year old kid would be when faced with imminent death. They didn't try to make him all bad ass and unrealistically heroic. Well done!

This really does get deep. It's true that they can only rely on each other.
I think that guy with the tatted arm is gonna go after Edward now that he's a State Alchemist again.

So this is where he gets his name, it sounds cooler now that I know the origin.
