Well, over the my childhood I remember watching some Pokemon but back then I didn't know that Pokemon was a anime. my gateway anime was Paprika, in the UK we have a movie channel called film4 and they were having a anime film week and I stumbled across them playing paprika and loved it.After watching it I planned to start watching some other animes.

My first anime was DragonBall when I was a little kid, but I don't really remember if i was in kindergarten or already in elementary school. I do remember rushing back home just to watch it. Soon after came Saint Seiya. Happy days...

It was a friend (who is no longer an unfortunately) otaku who introduced me anime. I decided to watch Free! first because I thought Haruka too beautiful and sexy .. ○(TωT) ♥

(After that, I obviously looked a little Pokemon on TV when I was little ..) ^^

My first anime is technically Speed Racer, and I was introduced to it by my dad, who was a fan of it when he was a kid. However, at the time, I just thought of it as a cartoon.
I also watched Pokemon after that, but again, thought it was just a cartoon.

The first show I watched where I realized it was this thing called "anime" was Dragon Ball Z. Also, nobody really introduced it to me, I was just channel surfing and saw an episode randomly.

I can not remember for crap, it was either Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu, Chobits, or NHK no Youkoso.

No body really introduced me into it, my brother was watching it and I was just tagging along with him.

As far as I remember I had watched Saint Seiya,Pokemon,Mushrambo, and mainstream animes before but didn't know what 'animes' were...then 3 years ago while searching the Internet for god remembers what stumbled across death note and from the first episode was hooked ....that's how I got introducet to anime and the first so called anime was Death Note. :)
Sanity... what would I do with a useless thing like that?

The internet introduced me to mermaid melody, and I don't like it anymore (never really did in the first place, but it did keep me entertained).

it all started when i found an old book full of DVD`s. Three of them contained all seasons of naruto and about 20 episodes of shipuuden. the only manga/anime i knew of at that time were dragonball, pokemon, Yu Gi Oh etc. and naruto. so i knew that it was "similar" to Dragonball and decided to try it out. I was addicted to the series for about a week and after watching 90 episodes i stopped watching because i simply lost interest.

some months after i started watching TTGL, HoTD, Mirai Nikki, Durarara!! and some other stuff and i started watching more and more..

Um. Does pokemon count? I feel like it doesn't. So I'm gonna say InuYasha, through a TV in spain. Then it was like BOOM.

I wish there had been more anime on swedish tv, I mean I watched Sailor Moon, pokemon and beyblade and stuff, but with swedish dub so it was just another cartoon to me, I didn't even think about the fact that it wasn't swedish lol.

Wolf's Rain

I introduced myself when I got bored and saw a site where I could download movies and shows, I downloaded it without even knowing it was an anime, watched then made a friend watch it later that week. American television was complete shit in comparison so I moved onto FMA from that, and never made an attempt to watch cable again. I remember before that I would see Bleach on Adult Swim and think this shit's stupid, and 5 years later I still think that today. Toonami really needs to step its game up too. They always played the same shit when I saw it on so never got interested in anime.

Bleach, recommended by a friend. I was reluctant to watch it for some time but then I saw it in TV, then again and I started to like it.

I am not interested in manga.

Naruto got me interested in anime. Naruto Shippuuden disappointed me so much. One Piece got me interested in anime again. Death Note made it permanent. Magi made it more intense.

It all began when a couple of friends brought Ranma 1/2 manga to a school trip when I was a young teenager; I ended up spending all the time inside our tent reading instead of participating in the activities the school had planned. It was well worth it. It sort of become a little tradition that we brought manga to school trips after that.

Then later I started watching/reading anime and manga on occasion, but it wasn't until last year that I really started to consider it a little hobby.

I don't follow manga, but Rurouni Kenshin made me notice anime, while Trigun made me deeply interested in it.

First anime was FMA, when I was like 7 years old. I was at my best friend's house and we stayed up until 10 (seemed late then, but that's early to me today) to watch anime. I only remembered Mustang's flame snaps in the first OP. There was also the big 3 Shonens, but I don't remember much from those except for Naruto. Also Inuyasha was on occasionally.

My first anime was Vampire Knight. One of my friends was obsessed with Zero Kiryuu and I watched it to see what all the fuss was about.

If I remember correctly, it was Claymore. I jumped into on my own from Netflix because of it being recommended and sounded like it had a decent plot.

My very first anime was NGE. I watched it at like 1am on SBS tv the first time like 14 years ago. Id stay up just to watch it haha.

I really got into anime a few years later when I downloaded NGE to watch it again. After that I went through and watched all the good old stuff, Cowboy bebop, Gits, The original FMA. That pretty much got me hooked on the anime medium.

Or maybe i guess DBZ if that counts? used to watch that on TV too when i was younger

I was Skyping with a friend and they had a poster of it above their bed. Thought it looked neat and looked up a download for it.

Well, if we aren't counting DBZ and pokemon that I watched as a kid 10-14 years ago, then it would have to be attack on titan.
