THe supernatural stuff threw me off a bit, but in the end it doesn't prove or disprove anything regarding what happened to Arrow. |

| I feel the show building John Silver as ambiguous doesn't really work, it's pretty obvious that he is the one responsible for that. And I don't see why they felt like bringing ghosts in a story like that, it goes opposite to the realistic portrayal of the world |

| In the novel, Mr. Arrow is simply a drunkard who disappears from the ship one day and is assumed to have fallen overboard while drunk. It's part of the novel's anti-alcohol stance, also seen with the two strokes caused by chronic drunkenness which weakened and then killed Billy Bones. Mr. Arrow is an awkward character who has no signifigant interactions with anyone, so the change to the character this series does is a decent idea, although I'm not really sold on the actual ideas it used. |
