| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- GREAT EPISODE! I love how they did Hawk's I will give your women my genes speech! I love the Light Yagami edge they gave it. And I'm surprised that they were able to fit it in Ippo's fight with Yi Yonsu for those who care, hawk's trainer miguel zeel is played by iizuka shozo the voice of nappa and hacchan from dragon ball, barragan from bleach, mr. heart and budou from hokuto no ken, tiger ozaki from ashita no joe and ryu jose from gundam |

| This has to have been the worst animated episode yet. There was next to no animation besides the Dempsey Roll during Ippo's fight, and even that looked like a series of about 8-10 pictures on a loop. Hawk has to be one of the most horrible characters I've ever seen in a show. His whole presence is ludicrous, and that crap that they were doing with him in the press conference was terrible. Besides that, the stuff with Takamura was good, but there wasn't really much to go with. |

| Nice episode as always. Maybe it was a little rush but i believe only manga fans will have a problem with that since people that watch the anime just can't wait to get to the Hawk fight. Although i have to admit the fight with Ippo was a little rushed. By the guy did that guy slipped, had a problem with his leg or something? Why did he miss? Ippo was gone a get his ass in the floor if that didn't happen. Really for a champion that defended his title a few times he still acts like his very inexperience. Hawk is doing a very good job at playing the bad guy. By now probably everyone hate him as hell and will enjoy very much seeing him lose. Although i must admit i kind of understand his crazy behavior and i can't think of a better way for him to act. A tough American guy from a shitty neighborhood in NY that always had his way with his fist and winning is about to act like an asshole. I just love that Hajime no Ippo is giving us the chance to see the big bad guy from America since we had enough of Hollywood and the big bad Russian, Arab,German,French,Greek, Italian and whatever else guy. |

| One of the best episodes of this season, with a great tension builder in the beginning and a fantastically quick and efficient match. The BGMs were extremely well chosen for once and the direction was great. This second season is finally on par with the first, it took at least 15 episods, but now we're there. Looking forward to the championship match now. |

| Woah =O Ippo opens up the stage for Takamura, didn't expect it to go so smoothly but considering that the main event is Takamura's dragging out the fight wouldn't have made sense. |

I really hope they don't give Hawk a backstory as to why he's such an asshole since that would ruin the whole show. I loved this episode minus the pacing. The episode hit its climax during the argument between Kamogawa and Hawk and sort of dropped from there. The fight between Ippo and Yi should have been at least three minutes longer. It was so anti-climactic. |
| The animation felt a little cheap in comparison to the beginning of the season. The pace was a bit crazy and Ippo's fight felt rushed. Next episode... LEEEETS GET READY TO RUMBLE! |
I can't believe WTF Hawk just said! Do they lynch people in Japan? Amazing, this guy has antagonized everyone and everything to the limit. I guess it's also no small miracle that not only did Takamura make weight, he didn't try to slug Hawk. Seriously, I almost went cross-eyed during this episode. Is this not the most outrageous American stereotype ever? |
