Personally I lived in a couple of different countries before and I find it kinda difficult to get used to a new place. I always loved Japan since very young but having experienced what it means to live somewhere else I rather start visiting such a far away country and then decide if I would move there or not.

Sorry for bumping this :P

I actually want to move to Japan and teach English. Been learning Japanese for 6 months now and am going to college after high school, getting a degree, and going to check out some areas of Japan and decide. And believe me, it's not just for the anime xD I really want to live through a different culture and learn a new language (preferably hard) and Japanese seems to fit well with me.

I'd like to live somewhere that doesn't speak english as their primary language. Japan or France probably. I want to experience new culture. Iowa is definitely lacking in the culture area.

I'd want to live there.
I'm learning the language, and I plan on getting some hands-on experience over there once high school's done.

I've wanted to visit to see what it is like, though I also have the same urge for other countries, but it's near the top of my list of places to experience.

But I would never live there. I'm well...to American for that. Wouldn't fit in.

I visited there once and I thought it was pretty cool. From what I've seen it seems like a great place for me to live in. I love the culture and I plan on learning Japanese in the future anyways. Some of the smaller towns there remind me of the Philippines so it wouldn't be too much of a change from my childhood and such

No, I hate Japan. And I am glad living in Europe.
The Tao that can be told is not the eternal Tao. The name that can be named is not the eternal name. The nameless is the beginning of heaven and Earth. The named is the mother of the ten thousand things.
I do not recall, Jesus ever saying "build churches, temples, and kill those who doesn't follow christianity..." nor he said "christianity is religion".

I'd join the yakuza and get a killer tattoo. Wear suits, slick my hair back, neglect shaving for a week, start smoking.

Then, probably pick up a couple of chicks and drive to Osaka.

After that, we'd run around the city shooting people with imaginary guns and slicing with imaginary swords until Gainax realizes the genius of my next anime idea.

JAPAN IS SO SUGOI

Man, I'd pretty much go anywhere as long as I get good accommodation and don't go broke.
I haven't been overseas since I was 4.

I'm sure anyone would have fun going for the food.

Visit Japan (your vote)

I'd like to visit Japan first, then I might move too, but this kind of things need to be prepared in detail so I think it would be quite difficult. ^^" BUT visiting Japan is one of my dreams <333

Eh, any country I look at doesn't seem as interesting as the good old USA. I'd much rather visit some naval graveyards, the beach, amusement parks, stuff like that, right here.

But I guess if I had to pick a place to visit, Japan wouldn't be too bad, since they have food I like, but I wouldn't know the language.

I've vacationed there before and it wasn't my cup of tea.
I'd rather chew off my left pinky toe than live there.

I'd much rather visit Egypt or somewhere that I actually want to go to.

I'd like to visit one day but I need to make sure that I'm prepared. Being able to passably read and speak the language would be first priority before I would even consider visiting.

I want to visit the shrines and temples, eat authentic hakata ramen, check out the Japanese microbrewing scene, and do the stereotypical nerd thing of visiting Akihabara. I'm sure there are other interesting things to do but I haven't really put too much thought into it.

Considering that I do live in Japan at the moment my answer to the poll is obvious.
I'll probably move back to Europe some day, but that's still far off, and right now I don't want to do that anyway. Life here is awesome, despited the cramped apartment. XD
