I find it amusing that they're not using actors of Asian descent for the Avatar movie. It's like they're afraid the movie won't be a hit without white actors. Maybe race doesn't matter, but you'd think they'd try to fit the setting of the show it's based on. Yes, Avatar isn't in *real* Asia, but it's obviously Asia-themed. Lord of the Rings is obviously set in a Europe-themed world for a different example, so it wouldn't have made sense for the LotR movies to use a cast of Native Americans, or throw in a black Gandalf or something.

I'm honestly really excited for the movie after seeing the trailer. I've seen most of the series and I think it has a lot of potential.

As for the casting, I don't really care about the the whole cast being white or whatnot. As long as they do a good job then I don't mind. Think about it, if a white kid does better at a certain part then a Chinese kid for a certain role, yet they choose the Chinese kid mainly because 'that's who's suppose to be in the role.' Do you really think that's fair?

I really think that everybody needs to quit playing the fucking race card and enjoy the goddamn movie when it's released.

The thing is, many people consider Avatar not an anime because it's not made in Japan.
But then turn around and label a few Korean anime influenced shows anime. (Such as Yeowoobi, by the way, Cheonnyeon-yeowoo Yeowoobi is a masterpiece, you should go check it out, if you haven't)

From what I see so far, it's about half an anime. It's heavily influenced by anime, but it's also shows heavy Western animation stylization characteristic. Camera angles tend to be done in a fashion slightly more Westernly than Western would. It also uses a cutoff in shading(if that's the right way of putting it), which is incredibly rare to the point of almost nonexistance in anime. Most similarly found in a few shounen shows like Beyblade.

However, being half an anime didn't stop Little Nemo from being added to the database.
In my opinion, if a show like Little Nemo is anime enough to be on the database, then so is Toei's My Little Pony and Avatar: The Last Airbender. But oh, it's an eternal quibble.

I don't give a damn about what ethnicity the cast is. They could be African American... Mexican.. white.. Asian for all I care. Just, please... please... let them be able to act and not have an old aang... I'm excited to see this movie, because I liked the Anime (saying I liked the american anime sounds goofy.) and well, I'm pretty sure the story can't be completely slaughtered by him, because the authors have rights to it as well...

Yup, I looked up your youtube account and now I'm 100% positive. My drawings are a lot better. You can copy stuff alright.... but when it comes to your own character design, you FAIL. Your faces are horribly disproportionate... the eyes on characters are not supposed to be on the forehead. -_- I'd show you my drawings and original character designs... but I still need to copyright them... Plus, you'd probably copy them and claim them for yourself, because they're better. XD Not trying to be cocky... With animating... ANYONE with computer skills can do it. Not a big deal.

Anyways, before this discussion got taken over by a troll... Who else is going to see the movie? I am. I don't care if it sucks. Thinking of going in a group of college anime nerds to see the movie, if it can be arranged. Thinking about sneaking in some Sake and taking a sip at each bad part compared to the anime.

Anyways, before this discussion got taken over by a troll... Who else is going to see the movie? I am. I don't care if it sucks. Thinking of going in a group of college anime nerds to see the movie, if it can be arranged. Thinking about sneaking in some Sake and taking a sip at each bad part compared to the anime.
