Windows 7 is what I'm currently using, but I'm going to switch back to Linux until the full version of 7 is released. There are too many bugs that annoy me.

I forgot to say that when watching anime, I use mplayer with Xine as a backup. then Comix for my manga...
I don't care about blueray because of the DRM "features" that is has. So thats not an issue for me.

Windows is what I'm used to and it's what I'll always use. Preferably XP. I don't give a shit about other OSs and I certainly can't be bothered to spend a good few minutes getting used to them.

Currently rolling with XP but once I build my new compy probably will eventually switch over to Windows 7 once a lot of the bugs are out. Dual-booting with Ubuntu won't be that bad either.

Thanks Medli for the sig!

Using Windows XP for watching anime (MAL Updater/AllToAVI/PSP Updater/MPC).

While doing Photoshop/iMovie work in Mac OS X, I use MPlayer OSX Extended. Took a while to get the settings right on this player though and seems that MPC is a better player than MPlayer Extended.

I will buy Windows 7 though. The taskbar is just too awesome. (Better than the dock)

Linux I think... it's simple and efficient, and has everything you'd need for anime/manga stuff.

Although ridiculously slow torrenting while using linux (On multiple torrent clients, not sure what the deal is and don't have the patience to resolve it) tends to keep me on windows when in anime geek mode.

This is a remarkably civil thread given the subject. I'm proud of MAL right now. Whether I can say the same after a few pages of replies is questionable.
Your search on "Oran Solus" returned the following quotes:

A lot of the time the intention isn't there. But these things have a habit of suddenly exploding.

Well, to chip in to the actual thread, Vista is definitely not the best choice. I hate it, and if I could make a human representation of Vista, I would kill it. Slowly. I hope 7 has more to offer. XP served me well though.

I dualboot windows 7 beta and gentoo. I would use linux fulltime, except the vendor releases a really shitty wireless driver that it too unstable for day-to-day use.

I use both ubuntu and winXP to watch anime, and in that regard, I don't see the advantage of one over the other. Ubuntu, however, was free, while XP cost me money. Therefore, ubuntu wins.

Dual boot Windows 7 and Fedora Core 10. Fedora suits me fine for anime and internet (no wireless problems, stable), but I tend to be on Windows more, because of Microsoft Office and Winamp.

Linux seems like the thing to use. It's cool and Finnish and open.
However, I am lazy and use windows.

I like to spend my computer time not messing around with software. Especially my OS.

I'm fairly OS agnostic but I'm currently using Windows Vista as my main OS. It's stable, and fast. I'm always tempted to swtich to Linux and I have at certain points in time, but lack of decent support for my tablet, iPod touch, and referencing support in Linux word processors is holding me back. I could dual boot, but since Windows does everything sufficiently the benefit from doing so is pretty much null.

For anime video playback, I use Media Player Classic along with the K-Lite Codec Pack. That combination plays back everything I've thrown at it flawlessly.

I use Arch Linux. I have a Windows Vista partition as well, but I only boot into it when I need to use Visual Studio for school (I try and avoid it and just write code in VIM most of the time).

Here's why I use it over Windows:
-My OS doesn't think I'm an idiot (windows and mac are both guilty of this)
-Way more customizable
-More control over my system
-Uses less resources
-much better command line (most of you wouldn't care, but windows CLI blows)

You certainly managed to change the subject...

@Naikou
For some strange reason yes. And now I suddenly feel like a little boy again playing the "penis" game in the grocery store. lol

EDIT:
I think "penis" is an american game. so to all the rest, the penis game is where you see who will yell "penis" the loudest before chickening out.
