| Holy shit, that was a great episode. An amazing adaptation of the manga. Really fond of Imai and Itagaki's scene. There's also the grand foreshadowing of Hawk vs. Takamura. | This episode wasn't nearly as funny as the last episode. Then switching gears into plot was kind of weird and abrupt. All in all though, I'm interested to see what's going to happen now that Ippo isn't the focus. |

It was definitely funny when Aoki tried to get revenge with that bug and later on Takamura....oh man was that disgusting or what? Now in episode 14 we see some fighting again. Even though it was only a spar, I still continue to be amazed with the level of animation quality during these fights. I just can't get enough of it! And along with that we finally start seeing character development with the newb Itagaki. We finally learn some of his history, and more importantly his motivation for fighting so hard. He's gonna have a tough time beating out that rival too because he looks to be a beast! It looks as though we'll continue following Itagaki's story in the next ep. as well, which I am exited to see! Takamura's opponent for the World Title is being made out to be a slimeball it seems since he's trying to create a situation where Takamura can't win, but I don't think that'll be enough to stop him. I give this ep. a 4/5 |

| Lol, yet another funny episode. The last bit was pretty serious and Ippo is quite fast lol. It was smart to book two fights in the space of 2 months so Takamura would have more of a chance of losing because of fatigue and possible damage. I wonder how it will trun out in the next fight, we shall find out! |
| I think the something he's missing will probably wind up being either guts or power. I've been wondering about this for awhile now, but why doesn't Takamura just move up a weight class so he won't have to deal with the diets? |
| Pretty entertaining first half to the episode but it got really interesting in the second half we're seeing more of Itagaki =] but a very difficult challenger might be coming after Ippo =O |

| Looks like we got a junior rivalry going on here. Ippo - Miyata 2? aw! The training camp is over! But it's not without its highlights. Takamura got a little of what was coming to him. Ippo once again manages NO PROGRESS with Kumi (what the hell, he's like 20 now isn't he?!). And we got a couple of interesting sparring matches. How fortunate for Ippo to not only see what Manabu can do, but also what the man who beat him is capable of. Now then, looks like Takamura has got his title shot coming up.... right after his match in October... what the hell?! That's sh*tty. Damn Americans! *fist shake*  |

| Oh another additional rivalry.. itagaki i think shouldn't have much trouble if he's with the guidance of the Kamogawa gym.. Imai is just a trying hard newbie for all i care haha it was fortunate that takamura was able to relax.. His matches are starting to steam up! :-) |

| Takamura's feature at the end of the episode was very scary compared to the first of it he is angry man! he fights bears and ghosts to reach this point, and looks we have an insane boxer to fight against and the blond hair fits him somehow xD the fight will be mad as ever, can't wait to see it Imai is very strong and somehow i knew that he has a link with Itagaki, it was pretty obvious and about ippo vs the champion, i think we will see the much in the near future , anyway it's a short season and the studio can fasten the pace or slowdown it |

| The first half of this episode was funny with that cockroach coming out of Takamura, and that whole scene where everyone tried to make Takamura stay to see the fireworks xD Then things just got serious with the sparring match, that Imai guy is pretty tough for a pre-debut boxer, I wonder how strong he'll be once he gets some experience in the professionals, he'll be a monster(I still hope that Itagaki overpowers him). I'm also interested to see Hawk, he sounds like a funny character, and that'll just make his fight with Takamura more interesting. |

| The "mystery of the antennas in Takamura's deuce". I don't think that I've laughed any harder than during that scene in this whole series (and that is saying A LOT). Absolutely amazing. |

He's still pretty salty. World Champion scheduled a match with Takamura to his advantage? Sounds like he's scared. |
| Wow Another great episode. Episode 13 and 14 were really amazing. i liked the new rivalry between Imai and Itagaki. and Takamura Title Match is coming soon. The next episodes gonna be really interesting. |
| The beach stuff still remains hilarious. So, we've got some character development from Itagaki. I'm starting to really like him. His fight against Imai should be epic as fuck whenever that happens. So, now we're finally gonna get a serious Takamura fight for the World Title. I'm assuming that and the Itagaki fight will be what end this season. Extremely hyped for both |

| so am I the only one who is pissed that ippo cant even handle rookies easily as the japanese champion? I thought we could see him dominating for once since he is the champion now, but it seems the writer insists on showing how strong some rookies are on ippo's expense. I cant really accept him as a champion when he is having trouble against pre debuted amatuers. if they wanted to portray that imai is stronger than itagaki, they should have just make ippo knock him down less times. not being able to KO him is just ridiculous and extremely annoying, when ippo wasnt the champion the gap between a champion and a rookie was always clear. just makes ippo's image of strength look more cheesy and asspulled when he is always like that. ippo should be considered a prodigy, but the writer insists on making him the underdog every fucking time. really ruins the show for me at this point. |
