Gotta love Mugen in this episode and his instant disregard of danger just because it was a woman

This was a decent episode. The beginning with the three and then the assassin, but otherwise. The writing here was a bit disappointing; The "ugly" enemy was honestly just stupid. I don't see why people would just attack you and throw fire at you for being ugly... Also, he decided to protect Fuu at an too convenient moment; nd all just she didn't mind the dude's face...nah, that's not good to me.

I don't want to just compare this series to Bebop, because it's obviously something that tries to stand on its own two feet in terms of originality, but I have to say this episode reminds of how I felt about Bebop when i first watched it. The individual episodes could be a bit hit or miss, but they always tried to do something different with the setting and characters, so that even the episodes that on their own would be nothing too special would contribute to the series as a whole. More than the sum of its parts, and all that. Given that I've only seen two episodes thus far, I cannot say that this will be the case for Champloo, but I have high hopes for it.

Not bad episode. Definitely had the Hunchback feel to it. Seems like this will be mostly episodic like Bebop was. The end was still sweet tho...would have wished for the ogre to live although I feel like he never would have found acceptance among his fellow townsfolk. I liked the older, gay assassin as well...esp his pass at Jin in the hot springs haha. Mugen fell for the ol pretty face and promise of sex act...and almost suffered the consequences. Still loving this soundtrack.

Entertaining. Didn't care too much about the ogre tbh.

I'm proud of recognizing the VA of the woman who seduced Mugen.

Ah, worse than the first episode, but still pretty good. Well, ugly is ugly, whatever. Fuu is extraordinarily nice.

For some reason I had the feeling that Oniwaka would die in this exact way from the very moment in the shack.

I wouldn't call the episode anti-climactic as much as realistic, fights to the death in real life are seldom as clear-cut as they are in fantastic stories.

Jin should have taken down that assassin only thing missing from this episode.
He couldn't, that's why he didn't. I feel like the assassin didn't show his hand this time. Jin's intuition and judgement seems to be good when it comes to this sort of things.

Gotta say that's one of the best lo-fi beats I heard towards the ending man.

Also, felt sad for the ogre's tragedy.

First episode was awesome. This was decent. The trope of fuu being the first one (it was played along these lines even if not first) to not be afraid of the ogre dude was too cliche.

Onikawa's story was pretty cliche, but may he rest in peace.
Also the way Jin steps out of the hot spring after the old dude's line"sometimes the male firefly attracts another male firefly" was quite funny. That old guy was definitely gay.
Man,the OST with all the lofi beats is giving me chills, especially the ED. Nujabes is amazing.

I really like this episode as in it shows a story of what the consequences are of not killing a disposable bad guy are and how they can effect you later on, they have a story of their own. I would have liked it if the big guy joined their team at the end I have a feeling they could use his help later on.

Not a bad or boring he gets treated like a monster, is mad outside but sad and broken inside, girl treats him nice and he protect her and then dies because why not story and there were some funny moments like the beginning with Mugen not knowing what a sunflower is or Jin taking a bath he truly went miss me with that gay shit lol.
