| I'm somewhat torn about this opener. Good action scenes and quality animation although the style is somewhat different to the first FMA anime. Also a good thing that most of the voice actors stayed on. However, I don't like how much foreshadowing there is in terms of plot and future characters. I'd like them to be more of a surprise for new viewers. The jokes about height were also a bit overdone. But overall decent first episode to set the series apart from the original FMA opening. Looking forward to the next episodes. Edit: nobody else finding it strange that Al can guard Ed from a hot steam attack simply by hiding him behind his armor. Physics? :D |

| Finally decided to check this anime out. The story basis and OP is good but the art style could definitely be improved - however, this was made a long time ago so fair enough. However I was slightly annoyed when Full Metal got pissed off with the Freeze guy when he exposed his past - after all, it was still Full Metals fault :/ |

| Rewatching FMAB since I'm bored and since I saw the original not too long ago again, might as well enjoy both together. This first episode was solid for me, although the pacing is a bit fast and the episode is mostly original with introducing important characters at the same time. I had a good time with this. |
the opening and ending of this anime is incredible.all the characters of this anime perfectly executed.the first episode is astounding. this anime adaptation of manga fully and properly developed remake the full metal alchemist into full metal alchemist brotherhood. this anime ranked #1 in anime recommendations. |

| An anime-only episode. Isaac's abilities here were very interesting, and the characters were well presented. Ed and Al's past was shown for some seconds, but it's impactful still. I just thing that they could have started it with the Church. A 1st episode filler is a risky idea. |

| I’ve rewatched this episode like 5 times over the past 3 years, I never had understood what was going on and I feel like they introduce way too much stuff for a first episode. |
| I guess it's finally time to re-watch this masterpiece. For a filler, this episode was honestly amazing. The animation was nice and it was a nice way to introduce all those amazing characters. Edward's anger with that ost gave me chills! Let's see if this re-watch will make me increase the score from a 9 to a 10 :) 4/5 |

| Yup, let's start FuruMetaru. I have many questions just from the first episode. But, I believe they'll be answered later on in the story. I love how Edward gets angry every time someone calls him 'little'. LOL |

| i liked the animation i liked the art style, i liked the characters, i liked the op i think it's one of the best ever, one thing i didn't like is that this anime is too clean and too perfect that it turns me off |
| Pretty good episode I guess, don't quite understand what's going on but next episode will establish the backstory so hopefully I'll enjoy it even more. |

To us who have seen the original series, this first episode was extremely rushed and I can see newcomers easily getting confused. Information that you slowly learn over the course of 10-15 episodes is shoved in your face all in a single one. But whatever, it doesn't matter to much. I'm curious to see whether the second episode will be a flashback. |
| well it felt like they jumped right into the fight. no proper intro or anything. if someone didn't read the synopsis of this, they won't even understand the goal of these brothers. seems like i gotta watch the first 17 episodes of the original FMA |

| Idk why people are hating this episode, kinda fast paced but it was good Almost been a year since I watched FMA (1st version), that was a solid series. Picking this up rn was probably a good thing coz I think I may have forgotten half of the plot I'm curious how this'll play out |

| Wow, what a fast-paced episode. So much established in such a short period of time- and it's labelled as filler? What?? edit: ah, none of this is in the manga apparently. But I'm glad they put this in, it's such a great hook. Gonna be re-watching this to re-affirm my own personal score on it, which will most likely end up somewhere in the 7 to 9 range. It is the 'top' anime after all, I would like to evaluate my opinions once again. It's been a minute since I watched this, it was quite early on when I first started watching anime, back when the only anime I was watching was whatever was on netflix, and this was one of them. It was highly acclaimed and all that, so of course I had to watch it. Watched it dubbed actually, and I remember it being pretty darn good. Gonna be watching it subbed this time though. Looking forward to experiencing this anime again. |
