UFC 168 is over a month in the rear and now we get ready for the next UFC event on pay-per view over Super Bowl weekend. UFC 169: Barao vs. Faber II is ready to get underway on Saturday, Feb. 1 at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.

UFC 169 features the 20th championship doubleheader in UFC history, as both the bantamweight and featherweight belts will be up for grabs.

The main event features Renan Barao (31-1 MMA, 6-0 UFC) looks to defend his bantamweight title against longtime contender and former World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) bantamweight champion Urijah Faber (30-6 MMA, 6-2 UFC) for a second time just 18 months after their first meeting at UFC 149.

The co-main event features Jose Aldo (23-1 MMA, 5-0 UFC) attempting to defend his featherweight belt against top contender Ricardo Lamas (13-2 MMA, 4-0 UFC). Both featherweight fighters are looking to stay undefeated inside the UFC octagon.

UFC 169 features 12 bouts in six different weight classes on Pay-Per View, Fox Sports 1 and the new UFC Fight Pass. Take a look at the UFC 169 card below (fights may change or be canceled due to illness, injury and etc.):

UFC 169: Barao vs. Faber II is an upcoming mixed martial arts event to be held on February 1, 2014, at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

A Light Heavyweight Championship bout between the current champion Jon Jones and #1 contender Glover Teixeira was briefly linked as the event headliner. However, just days after the announcement, Dana White indicated that “the timing didn’t work out” for the pairing and that fight would take place at a later event.
The event was expected to be headlined by the long awaited return of the Bantamweight Champion Dominick Cruz. However, on January 6, UFC President Dana White announced that Cruz had torn his groin in training and pulled from the fight. Cruz has also vacated his title, making Barão the undisputed bantamweight champion. Stepping up to replace Cruz will be Urijah Faber, in a rematch of their interim title bout at UFC 149.
Co-featured on the card will be UFC Featherweight Champion José Aldo defending his title against top contender Ricardo Lamas.
A Heavyweight bout between former Heavyweight Champion Frank Mir and Alistair Overeem, scheduled to take place at UFC 167, was moved to this event.
Bobby Green was expected to face Abel Trujillo at this event. However, Green pulled out of the fight for undisclosed reasons and was replaced by former WEC lightweight champion Jamie Varner.
Chris Cariaso was expected to face Kyoji Horiguchi at the event. However, Horiguchi pulled out of the bout citing injury. He was replaced by WEC veteran Danny Martinez.

Renan Barao puts his 8-year undefeated winning streak and the undisputed UFC bantamweight championship title on the line. Watch it live on pay-per-view at Nicoli's, Saturday February 1st at 7pm.

The undisputed UFC bantamweight championship is on the line on February 1st. Renan Barao, unbeaten for more than eight years, meets “The California Kid” Urijah Faber, a fighting pioneer coming off four consecutive victories. Plus, UFC 169’s co-main event will showcase pound-for-pound great Jose Aldo looking to extend his reign of dominance when he defends his featherweight title against Ricardo “The Bully” Lamas. UFC 169: Barao vs Faber – Saturday, February 1st, live on Pay-Per-View from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
