Hm, while I agree that a thick German accent when speaking English can be somehow funny, I always find it weird how it's often used for comic relief. I've heard much funnier accents than that. But maybe my "German pride" stops me from finding it too hilarious xD

talking about things german... here's a "german" software crash lol

was it the wrong answer? (do they say that when they answer a question?)

Yeah. Question was what Hbf stands for, the answer is b "Hauptbahnhof" (central station). The other three answers are pretty stupid and all the lights were still on, so I guess it was one of the first questions :D

Yeah, sometimes they do. Usually they just say the letter and maybe some jibjab to explain it. If they had to think for some time and couldn't really decide first, they usually say something like ".... endgültige Antwort." :D

I'm surprised though... where did you find that translation o.O (I'm surprised because "endgültige" has the right ending and many online translators I know feck that stuff up o.O)

And it should be easier for you, because as we know "Life is too short to learn German". Mark Twain knows.

Well, Mark Twain said something like.... he believs that a gifted person can learn to understand English (no spelling or pronounciation though, I believe) in what.... some dozen hours (which tells me I'm not gifted, dammit). German takes about 30 years. And because of that German should a) be completely re-written or b) declared a dead language.

Go mr. almighty, save my language!

So, not even the two of us have mastered German yet...

He actually wrote it, I believe XD

Yeah... sad lol But really, when you think about it.... learning (proper, mostly grammatically correct and understandable XD) German must be a b****, especially if English is your first and maybe only language. I'm not saying I think English is easy and one can somewhat learn it in mere hours (like Twain o_O) but just the basic English grammar is much simpler than basic German grammar imo.

I love German though... it mustn't die XD

In general I'd say if you can speak three languages fluently you are a) dead or b) a genius - or I guess maybe you're a dead genius.
I know enough people who get confused by one.

True that. But I actually know some people who can speak three languages due to their parents being Romanian or even Chinese etc.
They are born in Germany, but learned their parents' native language as well. Now they only had to master English in school (which only took a few hours according to Mark Twain) :P

lol yeah of course I know people like that as well but I wouldn't say they're really fluent in 3 languages when I hear them talk in polish, chinese or whatever like this to their parents: "blahblahblah Schwimmbad dududu umziehen blahblahblah aber dann nanana" XD or listen to some of their English :D
But yeah, it is good if your parents are fluent in another language and teach it to you from an early age on. Speaking one language fluently and two well is better than just knowing one. ... And of course the language of the country you live/grew up in should always be the one you know best, imo.
I'll never forgive my parents for not raising me speaking German and French D':

No matter how many languages people know, I think accents are always the best part of speaking different languages.

Had I known what the "important bits" of the English language were... Oh, the time I wasted in English class, learning (or trying to learn) unimportant stuff like the structure of conditional sentences and ... other stuff I don't even remember.
Curse you!!
