| Call it a common courtesy. I send a message of some sort (on the rare occasion that I'm the one sending the request) and I'd like the same in return. I really don't even see the need for it. I can still be friends with people even if they're not on some silly little list. I consider Tallon my friend even though he's not on my list. Same with JustALEX and others. Whether they share the same sentiments is up to them. I signed up to list anime, not friends. |
| How dare anyone try to be friendly or increase their friend list on here. Personally, I don't think it's a big deal on forums like these where the friend's list is kind of just an added oh hey, I kinda know this person. Hell, maybe you would find out after looking at their profile you have a lot in common an then you'll get married and live happily ever after. |

They might comment something rude(That's why I enable only my friends can comment on my profile), which means I'm letting my guard way too down if I accept it. Who knows that it might be a troll/troll account just to bash me. 2. I see no reason to accept it. |

| Online friends are a big deal for some, for whatever reason, maybe because that's all they have. So they don't accept anyone unconditionally. Personally, when I look at my friends list to see who's online and who is still dead, I want to see people I actually kinda-sorta care about and like to talk to. Simple as that. I don't write that shit on my profile though, it only gets ignored anyway. |

| Just like random club invites, I don't really make a fuss over it, but I don't like when people randomly send me requests and then don't even respond to my greetings. It's like why add me in the first place? Although I did deny one friend request once. It was a pic of some sexy Latina woman and I checked out her profile to learn she was trying to phish other people. Needless to say she got deported declined. |

| I usually accept random friend requests until I've got a pretty good sense of the forum and the people and I start making real friends so I get pickier with who I accept. I never started as a rule. It's just what seems to happen with me. |
| I see nothing wrong with it, so I accept them. Although I never understand when people leave comments for friends only, like how the heck am I supppse to have a conversation? | I prefer to have people who have made an effort to talk me, and then have kept in touch, on my friends list. I've had people friend me, and then never speak with me afterwards. If you at least took interest in something about me on here, why not comment to me about it, or just drop me a simple "hello" instead? If you care enough about my posts or updates, you'd easily be able to find me without needing to list my name on your own profile either. |

Though that's just my pointless, superficial screening process for out of the blue FR's without an attached comment. If someone actually starts a conversation or at least gives a reason I'll accept no matter how bad different their taste is. Since I don't tinker with the privacy settings, it's all the same to me whether someone is on my friend list or not. So I only go to the effort of adding someone if I know them from another website. |
