THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Liked the action in this episode much more than the first episode. I’m getting used to the animation. Nobunagun is badass. That three-line volley.

Looks like Dogoo revealed themselves to the public, and their objective of protecting life on Earth from the Evolutionary Invasion Objects. Seems like the powers of each E-gene holder fits their name. Gandhi is defensive, and Newton makes enemies heavier. Kind of silly, but interesting lol. Can’t wait to see the others.

That Shio and Asao scene in the hospital was nice. Asao helped Shio accept being an E-holder, and now Shio has officially joined Dogoo.

Very exciting this episode, the outcome of the battle against the creatures was great to see Sio take action.

Was amazing:

Voice acting was pretty good this week, though I was a bit disappointed by the OP. I love the song, but I expected it to be much better visually. Except for that, it was good.

:D

The OP song is alright I guess, kinda intense on some parts. Oh well. The story isn't interesting to me much anymore and the action seems a bit way forced. I hope they explain most of the monsters later on too.

Not a fan of the OP, kinda sucks.

This episode was great, Shio kicked ass out there, but couldn't make the final shot.
So the secret of the Evolutionary Objects and Dogoo was revealed to the public already.
Dogoo is looking for E-gene holders, there might be a legend out there.

I love how much style this show ends up oozing out. I'm a massive fan of this art direction. (What ever its actually called... abstract I guess?)

Story's got me intrigued, I like how they actually explained the "invaders" and the MC isn't annoying or worthless. In fact, I rather like her.

Definitely going to stick by this show till the end.

The OP wasn't bad but it also wasn't that good.

Other than that I thought this episode was amazing. The action was better than the first episode.
The animation isn't that strange when you compare it to those strange anime they decide to air. I think this is worth watching. Although I had my doubts at first, this seems interesting.

Just wondering but did anyone else notice Shio blush when she was stepped on by that gravity thing? ROFL! XD (an M maybe?).

The OP was good, but the action scenes as well as the ost was astounding imo.

So she was Oda Nobunaga years ago until she escapes that and become Shio Ogura. Damn, she was badass killing all those Invaders. At least they rescued Asao and everything is secured. Now she joins as Dogoo, I like how this is going.

I was a little disappoint by the OP, I liked the song just not the video, I felt like it could've had more action in it. But this was a fun episode, I get the relation between the names and the powers of the E-Gene holders, and the action was fun in this episode (Three-Line Volley was epic). But I'm really interested in hearing more about those Evolutionary Invasion Objects, and I'm also curious on how much Ogura can improve in her skills.

The OP song is FRIKING AWESOME!!! \m/ Although visuals could be better... :P

In first half, action was AMAZING, and Ogura was a damn BAWS!!! :D

In second half, everything was so funny and lovely...:3 It was perfect except i had a feeling that voices are a little off and not that great.

But this episode had EVERYTHING! Got me super hyped for series! :3

The OP was pretty weak and the visuals are still kinda meh…

However, the call to action was really well done and I'm liking Sio's character so I think this'll be a keeper.

If it weren't for Sakura Trick this would be the gayest thing airing this season. I love it. (no I don't count that stupid imouto show)

Sio is cool, and omg Asao is so cute. I hope we keep seeing her around, she's great. Also Newton is so cool, and Yuu Asakawa is voicing her so that gives her bonus points.

I really love how they're incorporating Nobunaga himself into this, too.

Glad I'm not the only metal fan here. Fucking love it. Even if the visuals don't quite match the song's intensity, it still does a great job shaping the atmosphere of the show. Which I'm loving so far.

Really liked the thought put into the fight with Newton bracing the recoil for her. The ability system seems intriguing and multidimensional, where they can complement each other. I'm looking forward to seeing the battle strategies evolve in clever and interesting ways, something I feel Kill la Kill fails at.

Can't wait to see more E-gene holders and how they'll work together.

Dis Opening Song > Everything else this season.

Besides that, this show is now definitly one of my favorites this season. The action is just awesome, I really like the artstyle and even the drama is great.

And then I saw it will only have 13 episodes. Oh well. D:

"I don't know what I'll do if anything happens to Asao." ~Sio - Priceless
Newton's face when three-line volley is used - Priceless
People hating episode 1's style only to be excited by episode 2 - Priceless

I like how they didn't take the typical approach of "This is a main character so we can just add him to the plot, and added Sio in a more refined manner. :)

Feels like this show is trying to throw us on the ShioxAsao ship.

Only just notices Shio has a completely new voice actor too.

Kinda have some feeling that something bads gonna happen to Asao from the OP.

I will never understand this "I couldn't do anything [to protect you]" mentality.
You threw your yourself onto Asao to shield her...how can you call that not doing anything?

So... Based on the other characters appearances, and the fact that Shio/Oda Nobunaga hails from Japan... The world will be saved by a multi-national agency with members actually coming from all around the planet? Refreshingly unusual.

Which begs the question: how could Shio understand the three others? English? I'm... completely missing the point of this show, right?

Also, from the opening, we got quite the interesting line-up:

Oda Nobunaga: 16th century japanese warlord.
Jack the Riper: Late 19th century english serial killer. Never caught, semi-mythical.
Isaac Newton: 17th century, english... I guess we would call him a "scientist" nowadays.
Mahatma Gandhi: 19th century, indian political leader and philosopher.
(Eugène François?) Vidocq: 18-19th century french criminal-turned-criminalist.
Galileo (Galilei): 16th century, italian sorta-scientist again.
Hunter: No idea. Wikipedia failed me.
(Antoni) Gaudi: 19th century spanish architect.
Cyx: No idea.
Geronimo: 19th century apache leader.

And, lastly, boss-grandma called her aid "Saint Germain" in the first episode, so we can probably add "18th century european... traveler-scientist-courtier-mysteriousandverybusyman".

Just... What criteria did the giant metal alien thingy use to select his victims? ^^'
Also, I'd wager he loved Europe.

As a metal fan, the OP music is freakin' awesome. But I agree that the sequence itself is meh. As you might imagine, I loved Watamote's OP, too. While I can't say whether I'm a fan of the art direction yet, I do praise it for being different and fitting of the show's tone. Drama was pretty good this week; Sio's concerns about dropping her life to join Dogoo were legitimate and heartfelt. I hope the voice acting catches up to the content because then it might be a real treat. Looking forward to next week!
