| Alright guys, very simple CD thread: What song would you want to be played at your funeral, at what time, and why? I'm going for Rick Astley - Never Gonna Give You Up, right when they put me in the ground and right when people start crying the most. I think that the actual burial process will make people cry the most but I think it would be stupid to have everyone leave sad. So, just to offset the mood, I'll have someone play a song that everyone (of our generation) is familiar with. I'm sure it'll make people laugh and hopefully when I write it in my last requests, people won't complain about how it disturbs a "sacred ritual." I get it, funerals should be sad. But I'd like not to be sad either. |

| I kind of have two songs I'm debating on. It just depends on if anyone is willing to deal with my request for the second one. I know it has to be one or the other, but I'll get there. My first choice is Who Wants to Live Forever by Queen It's actually a song which made me accept death a little easier, so I really appreciate it. Also this particular version/performance often brings a tear to my eye. I guess I'd play it when everyone's going up to view my body or something. I don't know. Another possibility is Starry Moonlight Night from Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. But I want it in English, and not the official English version. Nothing against the official English version, but the literal translation of the Japanese lyrics can sound a bit more like someone who has reached the end of their journey (death) , while the official English version tried its best to not make it sound that way. I'd have this play just sometime when everyone's sitting. I went ahead and made the translation lyrics a bit more singable. The problem with having this song, is that someone would have to sing it, and I'm not sure if anyone would want to deal with that, ha hah! Maybe I'll sing it before I die. Anyway, I'd prefer these lyrics which I changed up a bit (it's pretty much just a combination of the translation lyrics and official English lyrics): |
