Awesome first chapter is out! That Rita girl is quite intimidating..

Just as I had expected..shit goes down as Kenji fights alone against the fear of death. I like the psychological aspects of this manga already. I haven't read the novel yet but this was a decent start :D

Kinda felt like Groundhog Day. Dat violence though..

The mimics looked nothing like how I pictured when reading the novel. For some reason I imagined they'd be more humanoid. This first chapter covered quite a bit of the novel iirc.

First chapter is quite good. Though the idea about war with unknown objects is a bit too raw. And I hope story will develop.
Anyway I wonder whether the manga would follow the novel and end in few chapters or it would continue airing.

I also imagine them a bit different. And yeah it covered quite a bit, unless the mangaka changes the plot a little bit, it's hard to imagine this manga to be more than 20 chapters long.
I liked the character design for Keiji and Rita, especially Rita, can't wait to see her in action.
About the movie adaptation, for some reason Tom Cruise as Keiji bothers me, not really looking forward to that; plus, from the trailer it seems that the plot has been changed quite a bit, only keeping the time loop in a war concept.

Seems very promising, I hope.
I was already interested in the story how they're a Special Force of Japan trying to fight off these monsters called Mimic's. The Strongest Unit with that girl seems awesome too.

I didn't expect there to be a loop of time but it makes it a lot more interesting and unique. Can't wait to read more, I just noticed its based on its novel.

Thought the same. Rita's design is also different than what I imagined but I like it a lot. Otherwise great opening chapter.

I like this chapter, the design of Kiriya and Rita was awesome, but the mimics were a little bit lame.

I read the novel and I feel disappointed that Tom Cruise is going to be Kiriya because he is too old to play the role.

Home and fuck, did not expect so promising first chapter, traces the Obata make much difference, and the characters seem to have potential.

I'm only afraid of adapting to the movies, Tom Cruise as the main actor looks good flop l:

I feel I should mention that the Tom Cruise movie is going to Americanise the story, with only the base concept being the same. It's not like they can do a straight adaption when it's sort of a plot point that MC is Japanese.

Now I'm gonna bet MC's somehow gonna get laid with Rita.

Oh, c'mon, we can't judge the manga just by one chapter. A rip-off? There are a lot of similar settings, what makes the difference is the development, I'm sure it will turn out into something out of the box. And be prepared it will definitely go beyond the novel. Have you ever seen Takeshi's series in less than 10 volumes?

Yes, years ago. He did the art for one manga which is a one shot, not sure about the others though.

Umm, yeah, he indeed has at least a couple of oneshots, he also participated in the Adidas Fever project. But I was talking about series. If he takes it to a long way, there we should expect quite an extended series. Nevertheless everything might happen.

I finished reading the manga adaptation and im also on the final CH. of the novel oops.. let me rephrase that 'im also finished the novel' all i could say is WTH ...im not gonna say what part of the novel is C**P because i will just spoiling the novel and manga .... its just that they should make the ending a little bit on the good side when they adapt it on the manga and movie .... i hate them for making me read a good story like... i fell like when your climbing on the mountain and reached the top and see the scene and then slip on the edge ....that kind of feeling i think.. or is it just me T_T

I am free to give my opinion, and after reading the first chapter that was what I felt about this manga. I haven't said it's bad. These similiarites are actually kinda good, but I also hope for technic infodump like in MLA VN (yes, the visual novel, MLA manga is not bad, but the VN is better).

He keeps performing multiple plastic surgeries on those Shingeki No Kyojin characters in a SINGLE chapter.
Yes, I've read up to the latest chapter of Shingeki No Kyojin manga.
Forced myself to read through the kidsketching chapters after the anime's ended. At least from now on, I only have to go through the hell once a month.
Patiently awaiting SNK TV/movie/OVA anime-sequel.
The 2015 SNK live-action movie would probably suck.

Definitely Light Yagami. I saw the cover art on the manga's page and I was like, "Oh my gosh, it's Light Yagami!" XD

A really intense first chapter. A lot happened, and yet nothing at all. Glad I asked my friend for a manga recommendation. This is definitely very interesting.

Nice first chapter. Must be the 1st time Tom Cruise gets on the cover of a manga.

Keiji uses numbering to denote the number of ties he died. That's new. Along with the fact that he figures out the game on his own early on.

I guess he just didn't die 5 times. Otherwise he couldn't have predicted the parts of the novel he didn't read. Maybe that is a metaphor for him knowing the unknowable future.

Like the Mimic design.

Without change,we end up becoming the very person we hate.

the first time he died, and he went to read the book he said something about how he thought someone else spoiled the book which is why he somehow knew the ending. it wasn't until after this battle that he was conscious of all his previous deaths. pretty weird but i guess i won't get too critical of it so early on, i enjoyed it

Loved the chapter, it presents an interesting idea about time loop. Vrataski Rita doesn't seem intimidating with that baby face and slenderness. Kirija Keiji have a difficult mission, to get stronger and win against the mimics, but he have all the time of the world. I am still yet to see the 2014 movie and the novel. Planning to see them after this and I am not turned down by Cruise I like his movies, he is a good actor.

Thanks to that nearly inescapble time loop, Kiriya has unlimited tries to get it right but he'll still feel and remember every single bit of damage he'll receive prior to his many deaths and I can't imagine how intensely agonizing that'd be. He's on the edge of tomorrow and I have no idea how much he'll have to go through until he makes it to daybreak.

Funnily enough, I haven't watched the movie. I should try it after I finish the manga.

It was longer than I expected but it still held up with good action. Holy cheeseballs the way the old mans head came off O_O. I've stumbled onto something pretty good. I guess this guy did the whole "return by death" thing before it was cool (looking at you Subaru >.>).

All jokes aside, it looks like he's in for a rough time but he's willing to fight. It's kinda like a visual novel. Make the wrong choices and your met with a dead end. Plus his actions seem to change events.

I saw the live-action of Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt and I thought it was great! When I learned that his source was a manga and a light novel, I told myself I would read it, although it took me a while. I just started this manga and the truth is very interesting. I was aware that the film made changes, some may have been for the better, but it is certainly a very good manga by itself, so I try not to compare it, plus the merit is manga for being the source. I found it a little hard to look, I’m not used to this kind of reading, but the story promises, so I’ll keep reading.
