Not a big fan of series involving historical themes here but I found the first episode to be entertaining.

I like the fact that it also introduces elements of mecha and hell, even tarot cards. Some of the pacing felt a little slow but the action was decent. Da Vinci~

Looks like they introduced Jeanne as well. I'm not a fan of hers yet but I'm curious to see what roles she'll play. The historical themes and sci-fi elements mixed in caught my interest quite a bit though. That ending is awesome. Dat MECHA.

Those girl with Minorin's character sound new.

Another girl with incredibly good hearing ability...

Opposite to Phi Brain, Sakurai-san's character is serving Mamo's character. Warring era meeting the robot. (The meeting sounds like Aquarion Evol, though)

OP airing as ED.

The episode starts with the burning of a witch?
That's interesting...
I also liked the OST during the explanation in the first few minutes, actually the whole OST is brilliant.
As is the opening. The ending can't be bad either since it's from Stereo Dive Foundation (Although I haven't heard it yet)

Friggin EPIC!!

Dat setting is sooo unique!! Mecha+Sengoku Era (Oda, Mitsu, Hideyoshi...etc)+ Medieval age (King Arthur, Magellan, Jeanne d'arc, Da vinci,....etc)+ Space travel and who knows what more.

Really awesome stuff there. Liking Nobu so far and Jeanne is HOT.

Dat friggin AWESOME SEIYUU LINEUP!!!!

And the mecha doesn't seem bad either. I really can't wait. Now I'm hyped ^^

you know what you'll get when you have the characters lining up like models...

I really enjoyed this ep! Interesting, and messy, something different from the usual. Good CG also.

plus I'm a sucker for great good looking male characters. With all the seiyuu line-up, definitely a good one.

So it's like the 1400's but not really it's also kinda the future and armies are fighting with swords and stuff still but they also have giant mech robot things and Leonardo Da Vinci is playing this giant tuba thing to a very well endowed Joan of Ark. She's possessed by a demon or something, but wait now they're in space with Magellan on some space ship thingy but still all dressed like it's the 1400's...Da Vinci and Magellan are both like "For King Arthur!" but then Joan of Ark hears a demon voice and Da Vinci is all like "fuck this let's steal a ship I gots a tazer."
Then the crash land so the main character can steal a giant lazer mecha thingy and the series begins.
Thanks anime.

Reminds me of Sengoku Basara, and oddly Brave 10 as well.

I like the ending music. :L

A character named IchiHime. Omg my life is complete. Plus, she's voiced by Minori Chihara.

Anyway...Uh....The mix of eras and technology made me go "Wtf" but overall, not horrible. Just kind of confusing. :S Great seiyuu MIYANO PLUS TAKAHIRO and art tho. Will keep watching.

I really though that Saikin, Imouto no Yousu ga Chotto Okashiinda ga. was going to win the "Most Fucked Anime Plot" this season, what with the ghost-rape-chastity-belt-with-an-orgasm-meter-thingy, but Nobunga just swooped in and was like, "nope, I got this."

absolutely not a fan of historical themed anime..never was.

the mech design looks good enough to me.i cant stand lame looking mechs..so that is a huge plus.

i do not like nobunaga..its his personality mainly. im fine with everyone else .

i will watch next 3-4 episodes and decide.

I honestly don't know what to say about this show yet, I like the OST and the Mecha Designs, but the story confuses me with the mechas in the 15th century (I should of read the synopsis beforehand, but whatever), although I'll stick with this to see how it goes. But either way, the fool has awakened.

Not really in to mechs but thought I would give it a try. I can't say it's anything special but it not bad by any means. I will probably keep watching 2-3 more episodes to see if it improves at all. 6/10

ok i was looking forward to this and i have to say this episode was alright. Like someone mentioned above, this can turn out pretty epic or pretty bad but we still have a lot to see, so I'm excited. Although i read the summary, i still wasn't expecting to see the spaceships and the mecha looking so futuristic. That was interesting but a bit confusing. I like the trio so far but Jeanne, not too sure yet.

This show is such a mess. Mixing up historical settings, then mechas and spaceships and random Italian. Don't know how I could enjoy this as much as I did. Then again, the soundrack and the voice acting are amazing and enough to keep me watching for now.

This is like Sengoku Basura meets Gundam. Hooray for more Mamo! Looks like he can go all out with his character like he usually does. I'm guessing King Arthur will be the big bad in this.

As expected from Shoji Kawamori his latest creation brims with ambition and pathos though I can't help but wonder if he has bitten off more than he can chew this time. It seems this show is going for an epic atmosphere but the wooden characterization along with stilted dialogue shown so far is not very promising. It needs to ham it up or make everything a bit more intense to make it work for me but for now the grand vision that seems to underlie this series is enough to pull me in. It probably helps that the background art was absolutely gorgeous at times.

The opening scene that depicted the historically correct version of events makes me wonder if these characters are supposed to be reincarnations of their historical namesakes in the future with that being an important plot point rather than them simply being poorly thought out reimaginations.

I wanna know what they were smoking when they came up with this setting because its just batshit crazy. Now all it has to do is make sure action is not a CG eyesore that I'm fearing it will be and it might turn out a decent over-the top mecha series a la Valvrave minus angtsy high school protagonist.

Pfft, da Vinci was a ham in his first appearance. More please.

This looks to be interesting. Haven't really watched historical anime that I can think of, but it seems to have a bit of a fantasy feel to it. Going to be pretty interesting how they do the two stories of East and West. The scenery was really nice to look at, though the character designs aren't bad (nothing too memorable just yet, need to spend more time with them). That's one epic-looking mecha at the end. Here's to hoping it lives up to its appearance.

So yeah, picked it up randomly and so it looks like I'm here to stay. It better surprise me this season, because so far from what I can tell, the season's started out nicely.

Didn't really make much sense and it was weird seeing people named Magellan, Da Vinci, King Arthur, etc all in the same time period. The animation was really good and really bad at times. The techonology is all over the place (very rural setting and some tuba microphone -> space ships and mechs).

Eh, this episode wasn't very good. Unique setting but the plot seems like it is gonna be pretty predictable and uninteresting.

Backgrounds look really nice but the character designs are awful, it is like they put every bad anime trope into one character in the cases of Jeanne and Nobunaga.

Soundtrack is great it seems which I feel will be this shows saving grace, Haven't heard the OP yet but the ED was a pretty standard J-Pop track.

I will give this show three episodes due to the soundtrack and Miyano Mamoru's performance. At best we may have another G Gundam on our hands, at worst we may have another shitty shounen mecha.

This show is fucking bananas. I mean... I know these characters are only incredibly loosely based on the historical figures for whom they're named, but... why is Jeanne d'Arc cooperating with a man who says he works for the King of England? And why is the Italian Da Vinci affiliated with the King of England in the first place? And then there's Ferdinand Magellan, a Portuguese man who worked for the Spanish. What's he doing reporting to King Arthur?

None of these people even lived in the same eras anyway. The character list also includes Julius Caesar and Alexander the Great. I mean, Jesus Christ (don't tell me he's making an appearance too), at least all the Japanese characters are from the Sengoku era (as far as I can tell).

I'm going to turn off my brain now.

Well... at least it wasn't boring. I hope it makes more sense in future episodes.

With a premise this ridiculous this might turn really bad or good. I'll probably watch this until the end.

With that said, Jeanne's character design is really boring. Not that the others are any better but at least they were distinctive enough.
