I watched it like this.
Entire TV Series -> End of Evangelion -> 1.0 -> 2.0 -> 3.0
The TV series and End of Evangelion are different than 1.0-3.0.
They may have repeated/similar scenes, especially 1.0, but they are different stories.
You can replace the entire TV series with Death & Rebirth, but I chose to spend mroe time watching the series than watch a summary of it.
End of Evangelion is the movie that sorta ends the TV series (theories exist on how End of Evangelion is connected to 1.0) and is a different perspective of the last two episodes (25 & 26) of the TV series

And then you can watch the rebuilds in chronological order. Or you can ignore the original series and watch the rebuilds instead. Or the recommended order:

''Start with Death and Rebirth, then watch the TV series backwards from episode 24 until you get to episode 12. Then watch 1, 4, 5, 9, 6, 2, 10, 3, 11, 7, and finally 8. Episodes 25 and 26 don't matter.
After you finish the TV series, watch The End of Evangelion in reverse.

Disregard the Rebuild movies, they're a scam perpetrated by the accountant that did the budgeting for the original show to cash in on the latent popularity of the franchise.''

Why not just watch the original series and wrap it up with End of Evangelion? That's what I did, and it seems like the obvious choice to me. No need to overcomplicate things.

I would argue that 25 and 26 are important in their own way... perhaps vaguely similar to the star wars christmas specials. Them stills.

watch the original series all the way through, then watch EoE. if you like it and want to see it again, try watching it this way:

watch episodes 1 - 20
watch the director's cut versions of 21 - 24
skip right to the end of evangelion and watch until you hit the last 15 minutes of the movie
watch episodes 25 & 26
watch the rest of end of evangelion

don't bother watching Death & Rebirth and believe it or not, the show became a little easier to understand when viewed in that order. as for the rebuild series, only bother with those once you finish the original.

now I'm on episode 22, and I realized that there is a movie as a sequel. Saw also that there are several movies, Evangelion 1.0, 2.0 ...
my question is, what is the ordel to see the series? Can someone explain

Watch the show through to completion, then watch End of Evangelion. Death & Rebirth is a recap of the series and the literal first 30 minutes of End of Evangelion, so it is 100% pointless.

Then you can go into the Rebuild films in the numbered order.

You should watch the series first (which you already did), watch the The End of Eva, and read explanations of EoE. I wouldn't bother watching Death & Rebirth considering it's a recap of the series and has a small part of the opening on EoE which you'll see anyway.

You should also read the comments on this after you finish watching EoE. Don't read it before you do, it has a lot of spoilers!

Watch the series all the way through, then watch "End of Evangelion"; that's it. Death and Rebirth is completely pointless and Evangelions 1.0 and on are the "rebuilds", which is a remake of the series.

basically after the series was made they made 'death and rebirth', these two movies aren't really worth watching though since they just retell the series in a shorter time with slightly better animation.

then there is 'the end of evangelion', this is an alternative telling of what could have happened in the last few episodes of the series and if you liked NGE then you'll probably like this since it keeps to the same themes and such

then there's the 'rebuild' movies, and as they are numbered these should be watched in number order, the first movie is very similar to the original series but the other movies (and presumably the fourth one which has not come out yet) keep similar characters and themes but make a lot of changes and add in some new characters and make ig changes so it'll be your opinions here to judge whether you like or dislike something similar and and yet very different (it's hard to describe without spoilers)

You will never find an anime similar to NGE; it's one of a kind, and since your only at episode 22, you haven't seen nothing yet.
Judging by your list though, I'd recommend Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom and Darker then Black

RahXephon is very close to being an exact replica of Evangelion - only with a better story, better cast, some pretty cool mechanics added into the story, and angel-equivalents that attack through singing.

Neon Genesis Evangelion, then End of Evangelion (the 1997 movie)

There's the Death and Rebirth movie, but you don't have to see it if you watched the Director's Cut version of the original TV series. So watch the director's cut version of the TV series.

There's a group of idiots that say you can skip the last 2 episodes of the TV series and watch the movie since it "replaces the ending". Don't do that. The TV series has one of the most creative endings ever, so watch it. Whether you prefer the series or movie end is up to you, but don't skip the TV series ending on your first watch.

Then you can watch the rebuilds. A lot of people are retarded about the rebuilds, so just keep what I have to say in mind.

The rebuilds are (NOT) exactly Evangelion. They tell the story of Evangelion differently, with the third rebuild being the most deviant out of them all, so just keep that in mind when you watch it.

Have fun.

Here's what you do, watch the rebuilds first to get a basic idea of what Eva is about; prepubescent kids fighting inside of robots for the fate of the world. Then you should check out End of Evangelion (the movie) as it's the best part of the show. From there you watch every episode backwards starting from 26 to episode 12 (all in English dub). From there if you have withstood this, take a break and watch all 700 episodes of Naruto Shipuuden, before checking out shows that have been inspired from Eva - Utena, Rahxephon, Argento Soma, etc. and then you go back to watch episode 1 all the way to episode 26. At this point you will be fully immersed in Anno's style to take on the biggest challenge: Watching End of Eva backwards.
