"True there are TONS and TONS of horribly dubbed anime but there are some really good dubbed animes.

Can you think of any animes that are better dubbed than subbed? AD Police, ANGELIC LAYER and Steel Angel Kurumi comes to mind. Mainly because they all have the killer trio Kira Vincent Davis, Kelli Cousins, and Monica Rial

Please dont post "english dubs sux!!" threads please, its already painfully obvious and we get the idea... (read the first sentence) This is for people to post animes that they think are real good dubs so others can get a foothold on what is a good anime to watch "if we're too lazy to read" like me...I'm more able to do other things better."

Fullmetal Alchemist and Cowboy Bebop

and maybe Evangelion

those above are good, equal but not better. i'm of the opinion that no dub is better than sub though. except DBZ, probably only cuz i saw that dubbed first and Goku sounds like a kid all the time.

Cowboy Bebop.

Hands down.

wildebeest: Evangelion?! Are you kidding me? Shinji sounds like a 12 year-old GIRL! I tried it for 3 minutes and turned it to Japanese immediately.

Neon Genesis Evangelion was pretty good dubbed, they did a great job considering how difficult it must've been >_<"

Kiddy Grade's dub was excellent, sometimes they got a bit strained especially towards the end but overall it was great. Hopefully they have the same cast for KG2.

I'll agree that Rurouni Kenshin has a very good dub too. I really don't like the Japanese voices and I was so relieved that the American dub was much better. =3

These are the anime that have great dubbed
-Ranma 1/2 (I prefer Shampoo's English voice to the Japanese)
-Slayers (Love everyone's voices especially Lina's voice)
-Sailor Moon (Great voice actors and great English OSTs)
-Bakuretsu Hunters (Carrot's voice is awesome, really fits his personality)
-Fruits Basket
-Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu
-Witch Hunter Robin
-And all of Miyazaki's anime movie that was dubbed by Disney

Yu Yu Hakusho was great dubbed, as were Fruits Basket and Chrno Crusade. Fma and FMP had great english casts as well. Though it should be noted that for all of these I saw the dubs first....

After watching about 30 episodes of YYH dubbed I still can't decide if I like it or not. Kuwabara's voice is definitely "unique", the first time I heard him speak I thought it was a joke. Now I'm getting used to it and I intend to watch the rest of the series dubbed (only because I don't have the patience to watch long series dubbed). Personally I don't think it was an impressive dub, but it definitely captures the characters well - sometimes the voices make them seem like caricatures though.

Half the time i watch it dubbed, the other half subbed. It really depends.

The ones i enjoyed the most dubbed were Fruits Basket and Full Metal Panic. Cowboy Bebop is great too, maybe Samurai Champloo as well? Meh, i sort of watched most of that in Japanese.

Chrono Crusade dubbed it ok, but i despise Remington's voice! I prefer the characters in Japanese though.

FLCL is pretty good too. And Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040, if only because they fitted the characters personality well.

Everything else is pretty much crap./rant

Yea, Kuwabara is.....interesting. But YYH was one of the first anime I'd ever watched, so I still love the dub :P

*Best* dubed anime ? I don't know...

But I would like to give a shot to:
Noir => French dub
Gunslinger Girl => Italian dub
Monster => German dub
Chrno Crusade => English/US dub
R.O.D => English/UK dub
etc..

Doesn't matter if the original voice acting is good or not, but something feel *wrong* when peoples in US/UK/Italy/France/Germany are speaking Japanese.

When in Rome do like the Romans...

I agree so much. I watched it in Japanese, and then I watch it in English. I hate Yuki/Ayame/Ritsu in English, in particular.
I don't like when they translate theme songs either, it was terrible.

On a GOOD note, I usually prefer dubs. I'm too lazy to read. I loved the dubs of Fushigi Yuugi, and Magic Knight Rayearth. I can't watch MKR in Japanese, it's hard for me XD FY is probably better in Japanese, but the English is well done too.

I find that older anime generally has better English work.

Oh yes! Slayers, and Ranma 1/2 too!

Well, since I hate the dubs, I try not to watch them. Plus, where I live there are no English dubs, so... But from what a friend of mine has told me, Inuyasha is a very good dub. It's accurate and doesn't have any cut scenes. I haven't watched it myself, so I don't know...

I've seen a few dubbed series. My favorite dub though (although this may be a biased judgment) is Fruits Basket. All of the characters were so wonderfully done. If I had to complain about any of the voices, the only one I could complain about would be Tohru's.
The english dubs seemed to suit the characters so well.

I went back, once I discovered how great subbing was, and tried to watch it in Japanese. I just could NOT take the japanese voices. It was VERY apparent that Yuki was voiced by a girl, and Aya's japanese voice was faarrr too macho for his character. Their English voices were spot on.
