Romance anime/manga with shy guy?

Been on a kick for some romance anime/manga lately. I prefer the story to focus on the relationship between the boy and the girl. Some action, fantasy and side stuff is fine, but I want romance to be the main focus.

What I'm looking for:
-Shy guy
-Popular girl or normal girl
-Boy protects girl

No love triangles or harem, just romance between the two.
