| I was not expecting a happy ending. Like, at all. Both the chief and Rin live. The pirates all die. And Isago is free with her children. Didn't think she was gonna be a mermaid. The story about her being stuck as a pregnant woman forever by becoming immortal would've been crazy though. Feel bad about Rin. I guess Yuta didn't wanna repeat what he did with his first wife. Yuta's main goal (so far) is to find a way to go back to being a human. He won't go outside of Japan to seek alternatives especially if he's unsure if there are any mermaids or 'ningyo' outside. Some people would rejoice to be immortal but Yuta's different. Dude just wants a normal life. The animation in this anime is disappointing. I get it's a 2003 anime but it noticeably lacks the budget of other shows that came out around the same time. Next two episodes is the remake of the Mermaid Forest story. Hope it has higher production value than this episode. |
| Rin honestly make a better partner for Yuta than Mana, Great ending for this chapter, I hope we see Isago again, she's really interesting and also a more explanation to this mermaid stuff along the way.  |
