| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Today I learned the word 総受け (sō-uke), first from Outbreak Company and then again fom this show. Its literal meaning is something like "general receiver" and it apparently refers to the character in BL (or, as in this case, yuri) settings who becomes the object of desire for all the other characters. Probably the most useless word I've learned this week, at least as far as the upcoming winter JLPT is concerned :) Looks like the conversation went so long they ran out of time for actual activities. Or maybe they just couldn't come up with anything visually interesting for the tea ceremony club. I did like the quip about the hair colours (apparently their hair looks more "protagonist-like" in the ED than it does in the actual show) and the yuri conversation. I wonder if the stomach rumble was for real. |

Fortunately, what I see always excedes my expectations. I hope that this show will somehow attract more attention and gain a broad following. "Tesabu" has breathed new life into the venerable Cute Girls Doing Cute Things genre. - - - - - - - There is some information about Episode 4 in Japanese here: http://www.ntv.co.jp/tesabu/story/ I'll attempt a rough translation: The first important point is that we learn for the first time that Yua is actually then Vice-President of the Student Council. Koharun is somewhat taken aback by this. The question is, what is the nature of the relationship between the Tesagure Club and the Student Council? For Koharun, the mystery about this club is deepening. Next, they describe the scene where the other three girls tell Koharun that, from now on, they expect her to call them "Older Sister". And then after that they continuously brainstorm for new ideas for activities for the club. There is no mention of the tea ceremony. |

Let's hope that this is the dawn of a new anime genre. I missed "Outbreak Company" this week, so I'm going to watch it right now. In Episode 4 at 08:02, the teacher Minori-san explains to the class that "sou-uke" means "total bottom" or "unequivocally a bottom". vonPeterhof said: I wonder if the stomach rumble was for real. Me too. Yua has a stomach rumble at 07:30. After listening to it several times, it sounds real to me. It would have had to be picked up on the same microphone that the voice actress for Yua was using. So it would be a matter of luck for it to be clearly audible. The timing and Yua's reaction seemed completely natural. One possibility is that they had to turn up the sound level just for a half second to properly get a sufficiently loud rumbling sound. No doubt we will find out the full story some day. There is another important stomach rumble in anime, in Maria-sama ga Miteru. One time Yumi didn't have her breakfast before coming to the student council room, and everybody heard her stomach grumbling. Everybody then burst out laughing. | Don't forget "sou-uke" 「総受け」 also got highlighted in Genshiken Nidaime. The fact that so many anime mentioned this word means BL theme is getting more recognition now. Overall, this is one of the more otaku-themed episodes as we see quite a bit of those otaku jargons used here. |
| So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old? I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them? I wonder how long people would put up with this. As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series. |

So I was quite surprised at the subbed version of Episode 4 of Tesagure!Bukatsumono that they uploaded yesterday. This particular website always immediately posts the raw episodes, and then they follow with the dubbed versions as soon as they are available. Warning: It is very, very offensive. So I advise you not to read the rest of my post. |

| I checked, and found that quite a number of websites which provide streamed anime are showing Episode 4 with the malicious subtitles. There are some other websites which are not showing it or else still showing the raw version. Slightly more than half of the websites are now showing the malicious version. is this the first time that this kind of thing has happened on a large scale? |
| Doesn't anyone in the anime hosting websites listen to the videos a little and realize that what they are saying is completely different from the subs? :/ If anyone finds it with normal subs could you please send a link on my profile? I give up for now, the fake subs are everywhere :( |

| It's because the team subbing it is making two tracks of subs, and from what you're saying seems like anime hosting websites are going with the default track which happens to be the joke one. |

| They did offensive subs for Episode 5 and 6 as well. I didn't realize that there are two tracks. I looked at many anime hosting websites and all of them were using the offensive subs. |
| Foo. It took me a minute to realize I was being trolled by the subs, and I'm more annoyed it took me that long to realize it than I was by what I was reading. (and I understand now why episodes 4+ are not available on the sites I usually use...and my Japanese is not good enough to follow this particular show without the subs...sigh). |

| Thanks for this explanation. I remember in Fall 2012 that "Commie" subbed "Girls und Panzer". There were two tracks. The first track had a lot of words in German, for no apparent reason. The second track was reasonable. In Girls und Panzer, the story did include a few words that were German, based on tank terminology. But "Commie" was going far beyond that. When I was watching the series on a streaming website, I was only able to access the first track, which meant that I missed certain parts of the story. I don't object to subbing groups making Track 1 defective in some way, for whatever purposes they have. After all, I am receiving their services for free. But I don't see why they have to make the content so offensive by any reasonable standard. |
