This week they are playing their own unique version of Japanese-style chess
( 将棋 / Shōgi ) in the gym.

Too bad the fan-subbed versions aren't out yet. I wanted to follow it to the end :/.

Welp, patience is a virtue I guess.

Hmm, I actually liked it this time. Both the analytical and the improvised conversations were entertaining, and I found the idea of combining shogi and twister pretty funny. Also, this time I actually bothered to listen to the lyrics of the opening song, and it's actually hilarious. Reminds me of that "Every anime opening ever" (or something) video. I think the show is starting to grow on me. 4/5 this time.

I agree with vonPeterhof that the lyrics to the OP are hilarious. I couldn't
believe what I was reading. I won't say more because it is best for people
to see them without prior warning.

Here is the OP with English lyrics:

Here is the OP with Chinese lyrics:

These are extremely talented people and they have limitless imagination.

I don't know whether this is what vonPeterhof had in mind, but here is

It is notable how little interest there has been in this series. For the discussion of
Episode 1, there have been only 17 replies on the thread so far. By comparison,
the discussion of Episode 1 of Aku no Hana has gotten 1703 replies to date. I
believe that a number of people checked around MAL and found that 1703 was
apparently a record for the most replies to a discussion thread for Episode 1 for
any anime series. Aku no Hana was quite controversial.

By Googling, I can see that there are at least some fans in Japan who are talking
online about the series. One fan found it cute to refer to the Shougi pieces as
"ema" ( Shinto prayer plaques / 絵馬 ) rather than "koma" ( 駒* ). I also learned
that the Japanese name for the party game "Twister" is "tsuisutaageemu"
(ツイスターゲーム). That fan's comments were posted two days ago here:

This is by no means just a routine anime series following an oft-repeated formula.
It is groundbreaking in several ways at the same time. Furthermore, they have
been able to pull it off amazingly well in terms of entertainment. So I don't see
why the series has not attracted more curiosity as both a historical and technical
milestone, let alone the fact that it is enjoyable to watch.

A CD of music from "Tesabu" (the official abbreviation) goes on sale today in
Japan. I wonder if we can get any information about how well it is selling, since
that would provide an indication of whether anybody is watching it or not. It
includes the OP, the ED and character songs. See here:

* Thanks to vonPeterhof for teaching me this word while we were
discussing "Non Non Biyori".

The Shogi strategies mentioned by the characters in this episode are real strategy used by Shogi pros. Amazing.
So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

Likely it's the 3DCG, that turns a lot of people away from shows I've noticed.

As for myself, I am enjoying this immensely!

Based on the pre-orders for Blu-ray/DVDs, this series is not doing so, so well.
Here are the numbers that I got just now from Amazon Stalker. But please
note that I am not confident with my ability to correctly use that website, so
corrections would be appreciated. In each case, the number is in "points"
(累積pt), the definition of which I don't quite understand.

Tesabure!Bukatsumono:
Volume 1 Blu-ray (Dec 25) 360
Volume 1 DVD.... (Dec 25) 75
Volume 2 Blu-ray (Jan 29) 367
Volume 2 DVD.... (Jan 29) 63
Volume 3 Blu-ray (Feb 26) 375
Volume 3 DVD.... (Feb 26) 63

Hint: To get the results shown you have to search for the title as
てさぐれ 部活もの and not as てさぐれ!部活もの or てさぐれ部活もの.

In order for you to get a sense for what these numbers mean, a good
comparison is Kill La Kill (キルラキル), which is one of the more popular
series at the moment. Their Volume 1 comes out on January 8th, and their
total "points" are 2770 + 562 + 50 = 3382. So, nearly ten times as much.

Having said that, the low numbers for "Tesabu" do not imply that it is not
excellent. At the moment, it is the series that I look forward to the most.

See here if you want detailed instructions on how to use Amazon Stalker:

Unfortunately, real life high school is not the same as most anime ones. No matter how much you may pretend it is.

Poor Koharun getting steadily more and more lost.

It's slightly embarrassing that I used to do that eating with the wrong hand stuff. I used to think it was training in case I broke my arm or something.

That shogi/twister game looked fun.

The ED dance gets a bit more added every time.
There is no such thing as shit taste. Only idiots who think everyone should have the same taste as they do.
