Biggest laugh I had was that he was reading Shingeki no Kyojin to her. Lots of really fun references in this show.

Oh wow...I think I'm enjoying this way more than I should. It's seriously becoming one of my favorites this season. I really, really hope this doesn't disappoint with the story...though it looks like the novels are still ongoing so we shouldn't expect a true ending.

A great episode ! I'm loving this series !
Petrarca does piss me off and the part where Shinichi stood up for Miusel is just :')

The room is a heaven , and the preview of next episode ; a school for the kids ?! NICE !
"Children of Japan. And those who were once children. Listen! This is not a dream. This is not fiction. In reality, your superheroes were always fighting. To teach viewers courage and the meaning of justice! No matter how many enemies there are. No matter how strong evil is. Just remember. Does any another country have so many heroes? Has any another country been protected by multiple superheroes? Stand with me, friends! Remember when you used to watch your superheroes!
Once you may have given up this dream. But today, you can be a hero!"

I was a bit skeptical after episode one, but I think I will continue this anime because it got like several folds better just after this episode.

I loved this episode: More Miusel + More Petrarca + Those references = WIN

About Petrarca: She was raised in that culture as a Ruler so its not a big surprise (I dont say she must have handle it right this but it had a high chance) she did that, and I think the hinted she is able to accept those new moral values and she can change.

Before the fall season started I expected the less from this 1 on my plan to watch list but it turned out to be something great and actually it is on the top in the fall on my list.

I've gotta admit, this is the show I look forward to the most every week.

Miusel is the best.

Only thing this episode was lacking was the DA DA DA.

The show heads straight to the direction which I wanted to. More about conflicts in culture and the differences in thoughts as well as society. Glad to see the show isn't focusing just on moe and comedy or harem like normal would do.
Miusel route FTW!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow this show just completely surprised me. I didn't expect it to be this funny. Lol at all the references and Bluk blowing on the game cartridge and the Famicom, brought back fond memories :D

Well well, I gotta commend some who really understand the situation that Petrarca is in, rather than going the tactless route and blurt out that she's really bitchy and whatnot. Thumbs up for ya from me!

Wow, all those references!! And it didn't take me to wait for the subs to know that the 'kyo' kanji character that Miusel wrote was for one of the characters in the title of Shingeki no Kyojin! Not to mention that what Kanou gave out to the children was a copy of SnK! Oh well, that kind of story might be fascinating to their society...XD

That room! Aah, I could live there and not go out for months, provided I've got my own bathroom and food.

Bluk blowing the cartridge!!! BWAHAHAHAHA!! First time in a long time since I saw anyone, fiction or not, do this! How nostalgic...

Awesome episode....and yeah, this is how second episodes of any anime series should play out: eventful as well as presenting some serious issues that may be resolved in future episodes to keep the audience coming back for more.

That loli is rather annoying at this point..pretty good episode, so otaku culture is going to teach that world equality and whatnot? I like.

Ah so many parodies!

Oh God someone please murder Petrarca, she is seriously killing all the fun I could be having with this show. Liked the scenes with Myuseru and the anime titles. Straight Witches...how terrifying even to type out something blasphemous as this. 3/5.

Lol at Petrarca cringing at that Shingeki scene in chapter 1... just wait till she reads the newest chapter (50). Of course, there's plenty of cringe-worthy scenes between then and there but... I'm sure someone gets my meaning.

I'm gonna need to check out Bastard!!... somehow that scene sounded appealing to me. Gotta say this second episode was much better than I expected, this went from low priority to high priority for me now.

I'd much rather see this show go down the line of him facing the various difficulties of making this fantasy world a more civilized place where people can enjoy manga and anime than have some sort of evil stirring in the background :/
It'd be nice if things could be that simple... but in reality (though of course, this is not) it wouldn't be very believable for him to simply change an entire country's culture without having some rebels and other problems. With a country that trains their kids to be warriors, it'd probably be pretty hard for everyone to adjust to a sudden change like this. Also, I'd be almost surprised if we don't see other countries in this world who discover what's going on and want some involvement... but, unless they make a second season that would probably be hard to do in 12 episodes.

LOL AT THE HUGE AMOUNT OF REFERENCE.

Even without the comedy, the anime is still enjoyable. I'm looking forward for further development. I wonder if there will be any romance conclusion in this series...Hmm..

well, from the looks of it, Her Highness, Queen Laploli the first, eats from his hand. The right place to start a cultural revolution.
I want Rambo in a mecha-suit with a laser-chainsaw gun that fires nuclear warheads, fighting the love-child of Predator, Alien, a group of Bangladeshi terrorists, and Satan. (Actually that would be a pretty sick show) - StopDropAndBowl

Geeezz, that Petrarca is really a bitch, and it looks like Shinichi is gonna be teaching them people there how to read and write.....in Japanese.

Man, that JSDF babe ought to have some fanservice.

Uh oh, loli confirmed to be tsundere! All of those anime references - the Hataraku Maou-sama poster and Attack on Iron Giant. Looks like two very different cultures are going to be clashing soon. Poor Miusel, I wonder if she's starting to fall for Shinichi and related to that manga.

Main character badmouthed worst girl™ and helps best girl™.
Comedy was great, plot is meh. Main character is acting all badass but only Chuck Norris can change the world.

It was a really awkward moment when MC was doing stuff with the lizard, and the lizard gave him his stick.
And then MC says: "T-This isn't what it looks like!"
Can someone please add yaoi genre?

P.S. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

What are you going on about yaoi for? he said "This isn't what it looks like!" to Myuseru because he did not want her to think he was like others and abusively punishing his servants.

This was actually a really good episode.
On top of the references it just flat out went all morals and shit on us, where before I assumed it was just going to be 'spreading MOE WITH LOTS OF CUTE GIRLS AND LAUGHS' This episode really pulled one over on me, making our MC deal with the different ideals they have and such, plus being able to stand up for others and what he believes in.

Digging it.

There are a similar relationship in Inuyasha if I remember correct.
I also thought it was Inuyasha, but that image made it obvious it is Bastard.

The Maou reference was even better than described above since the listed name on the paper he gave to the soldier had "Hataraku Maouyuu-sama".

Also, there was a reference to Yotsubato!, the big paper figure with an exclamation mark in the back next to the female knight (anyone knows who that was supposed to be?).

Liking this series more and more. Didn't expect it to start to tackle societal issues.

Better than my mediocre expectation, but it's walking on a death line between "decent potential which run out of gas and turn into normal pebble instead" and "surprisingly good series". I guess I need to see episode 3 or till the end of the first arc until I can decide to watch/drop.

Also, what's with the gap of quality (and derpy faces) between original character design and LN character design? For series such as this it's pretty important :/
