Joking aside, I have no idea what to expect.

Dude this is way way way different than SAO and much more awesome. I am not a SAO-hater and i actually liked the show but Mahouka is in a league of it's own.

Just a light joke. It all depends on how it's executed. If they try to cram a lot into 26 episodes, that will just be sad because this looks pretty good. I feel a weirdly hazardous vibe coming from this, still, because execution is everything for this sort of thing. Look at Sword Art Online. The light novels are obviously (in my opinion) superior, thanks to pacing, etc.

Seems like they insert bits of the MB scene in the beginning when Tatsuya was talking about his secret. I hope they would keep it like that and not include the whole reminiscence arc in this season.

Those 3 minutes really look good. I agree with you about the MB scene, it will give the viewers a feel that there is more to the MC than meets the eye. Btw the activation with the sniper looks pretty cool, not only that but also the rest of the magic activations we have seen from the pvs. I hope Madhouse does a good job explaining stuff. The short were fun and informative so hopefully things will go well.

Mahouka doesn't really focus on romance. It has very little romance in it.

By that, he meant that romance is not the focus of this anime. There is romance, but the romance in this LN is quite subtle compared to other LNs and there's not really much development of it even up to the 12th volume which is the latest one currently out. As for the reasons, you might want to watch it for yourself or search for the MC, Shiba Tatsuya on the wiki.
