Nadeko was referring to Hanekawa, where as Tsukihi was referring to Senjougahara. This is confirmed by Nadeko's reaction to the Hanekawa-esque porn mags. She thought it was natural. If she had been referring to Senjougahara, she would probably have been confused.

I rarely notice voice acting since im often focused in stories but this episode i noticed it well. Perhaps because of the high contrast.

Dat was some serious voice acting. I have a new found respect for Nadeko's seiyuu.

Anyone else thinking that she was referirng to Hanekawa as the perfect girl for Araragi while tsukihi was referring to Senjougahara?

6/5 would Yuri, this arc is really shaping up to be amazing. Might have to wait 2 weeks due to going on holiday!

Thanks, I was trying to remember where I'd heard her let loose and I even own Mouretsu Pirates and am in the middle of re-watching it! Chiaki-chan "...chan ja nai!" I guess Chiaki-chan (oops, even I say it) is like this role, different enough from her usual quiet cute roles that I sometimes forget it is her. Love that show too!

From how much they covered here, three chapters or so, it looks like they will easily finish the 25 chapters available. In fact as I was worried at first, they can take 3-4 chapters for a single match which probably just takes 1 episode to do so they might even need some filler if this has 12 episodes. I hope not but in the magazine last month they actually did the first chapter of Elena's side story so it looks liike they just have 25 chapters to do for the season unless they somehow end it with her side story.

Yeah, and I recommend to do so. Reading with Nadeko as narrator was great. The novel had a slight creepy feeling in my opinion. And my fascination about Kanbaru mostly comes from (all) of her appearances and mono- and dialogues in them.
This season (including Neko Kuro) are the first time I had read them beforehand. As of Bake and Nise I didn't know about the novels enough to read them yet. I love reading the novels but at this point I'm not sure if it is better to read them before or after I watch. I think the anime has been ruined a bit for me by reading it beforehand and then going, "awww, why did they skip that part? I was looking forward to it! Aww, why did they change that part?" I think this one might work better to read afterward and fill in the pieces but often that ruins things the other way round... Damned if you read it first, damned if you read it after...

I know that feels.
I did the same as you do. I started out serious with Koi, then jumping backwards to Neko Shiro and Kabuki, followed by Oni, thus, leaving Otori and Hana yet to be read. I didn't care much about Neko Kuro though and I read Kizu beforehand (the fan-translated one) and stopped at the brim of the climax. Now catching up with Tsuki and Koyomi.

Oh, skipping less important scenes is okay but skipping relevant conversations that are actually important to the upcoming plot is just bad and disappointing.

The novels and anime deliver different kind of moods and feels. It also feels like the mystery genre is stronger in the novel by the way they are written. I always preferred the novels over the anime, but mainly because of the author. The anime is literally fanservice for me, but I am glad (more or less) that Shaft and team Shinbo adapted it. Reading them before or after the anime doesn't really matter to me but I usually try to read them as soon as possible after the release. The only one I didn't read was Oni because I got spoiled and thought maybe I'll let this one be an anime first.

Lol.
Please.
Read Oni.

Playing armchair series composition director is fun but as you say it can also be disappointing when it doesn't go the way you would hope. I agree editing for time is fine but crucial stuff like parts of the letter are very frustrating when you know they are missing.

I need to read Hana and Tsuki still. Oni is going to be... shouldn't say anything!

The letter. Exactly. Also, the scene that supposedly shown, where Araragi and Shinobu lingering around before they meet with Hachikuji-shi. That is one point where the residents would see them and make stories out of them, as what Oshino is referring to in his letter.

And... Oni should be awesome, or else I'll lose hope for the climax Koi.

She doesn't refer to Hanekawa at that point in the novel when she is looking at the magazines but she absolutely does refer to her earlier several times but most importantly on page 177 where Tsuhiki says under her breath someone else being most suitable... but Senjougahara is not actually mentioned out loud so since it is narrated by Nadeko she does not actually hear it at that point. Actually I may need to flip through the whole book again to see if Senjougahara's name is ever actually mentioned. She is who I was thinking of when I replied to this above and said obviously Senjougahara but now I'm trying to remember if Nadeko actually met her? I read and watch too much and am getting confused so I may need to read/watch Nadeko Snake again.

In the Otori book too, since Hanekawa is class prez and so is Nadeko she compares herself to her earlier.

But it's important to remember that a movie review is subjective;it only gives you one person's opinion.

She met Hanekawa with Koyomi during Bakemonogatari. But I'm not saying she's referring to her as Koyomi's GF.

Yeah, I remember that part. And I also remember that Nadeko "ran away" from Hanekawa, but IIRC, she ran because of some other weird reason, right?

The link in the source seems to be broken though.

Anyway I know what it is. It will be something like the trailer made after a Bake episode with Karen and Tsukihi (or some other characters) making announcements that is pretty unrelated to the next episode (until the last moment). They even have come up with the caricature version of Homua and Kyubei in the same style as those Bake trailer shorts. Not sure if it is worth its own news thread though.

EDIT: pikeman1's post has the link that works. So it is indeed what I am talking above.

So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

"Flying" Tsukihi seems interesting though. Koyomi Rider seems like irrelevant, so they can ditch that scene.
Only if they use that budget and time left to make the arc longer as it should be instead of wasting tv slots with recaps with different POVs...

I am not sure if you read what I wrote before, but that is not Wasting because Shimbo said in an interview that the recap is NECESSARY for his studio to recuperate in the animation work. So the question is either not coming with anything AT ALL for one week, or at least have something for the watchers on that week. So I'd say at least they put in some effort to edit and come up with the recaps, even though most fans would have understandably preferred a brand new episode.

I agree with some (most?) of you that she isn't best girl material, but her voice actor this episode was ace.
I couldn't believe that the voices were coming out of the same person, especially after the school scene and then the return to the cutesy narrator voice.

I know. I have read that stuff somewhere else.
I didn't mind those recaps though because they are indeed good.
Either way, I still think that Shinbo used this as an excuse though. 2 cours are pretty much compact anyways to cover all the 5 volumes. Also, as much as those recaps are meant to keep his staff steady, those recaps are also meant to recover the delayed Hanamonogatari slots.

My opinions anyway. Sorry if my words are a bit rude.
