I'm very happy that Chihayafuru have a nice sales. It would be awesome if the manga is licensed in my country, but that is not gonna happen.

And also the JoJoveller, I'm definitely going to buy this artbook!

More than anything else I'm glad to see Rin getting some recognition and some popularity. For those who don't know it's the new manga of the author of Beck and in my honest opinion it shows a lot of potential - even if we have no idea where the story's headed considering the developments so far.

Also quite happy to see that Wagatsuma-san sells fairly well, same for Shigatsu wa kimi no uso.

Three manga that so far remain quite unpopular here.

Date a Live with a strong first week makes me really happy.

Plus, Asterisk beat Infinite Stratos, proving they should really reconsider another illustrator for it.
Please overlap, find a way to bring okiura back !!

Well, I think visuals are very important for this series, So...
They changed this :

Into this:

Meanwhile, the novel the former artist of IS is doing looks like this:
http://dalian.7thstyle.com/2013/09/mf-bunko-j-september-2013-light-novel-series-pinup-art-seventhstyle-008.jpg

I know liking a art/design is totally subjective, but if the Japanese IS fans think the way I do, those new illustrations aren't enough to buy the volume re-release. It is common knowlodge that story isn't the strongest point of these shows.

Why did they let go of the previous illustrator? Was there a contract dispute?

If I remember correctly, there was a contract dispute with Haganai's illustrator, over BD illustrations, that delayed the release date of the BD and potentially damaged sales as well.

Yamada-kun to 7-nin no Majo

Volume 2: 22,560
Volume 3: 33,827
Volume 4: 36,904
Volume 5 to 7: 35k < x < 40k
Volume 8: 37,947
Volume 9: 69,183 ( this week )

A result of live action and anime combination. Decent bump perhaps.

Magi: Sinbad no Bouken

Volume 1: 145,212

is pretty good for a Magi Spin Off manga.

15. *48,230 *,*48,230 Rin Vol.9
26. *34,592 *,*34,592 Wagatsuma-san wa Ore no Yome Vol.7

That is only 2 days of sales. But still, WataMote has the unusual and unenviable distinction of having its sales drop in line with the airing of the anime.

After 2 days the last volume had sold 38.5k, and that in turn got about 5% fewer sales than the previous (and pre-anime) volume got.

Mainly because this is not a new volume. It is a Overlap edition as the series moves to a new publisher named Overlap. Given most of those who already bought the old edition of vol.7 are unlikely to buy the new version just for the new illustration art, the sales figure itself is actually quite good I'd say. For how strong this franchise currently may be, you should look at the sales of a truly new volume from Overlap, which is vol.8 published in April this year:

*2, 53,581 *,*53,581 IS: Infinite Stratos Vol.8
*3, 29,803 *,*29,803 IS: Infinite Stratos Vol.8 Special Edition

A LOT more than the couple of thousands sold for the new edition of vol.7 last week. So unfortunately you seem to have celebrated a bit prematurely for its "doing bad".

As much as what you said about illustration being a key selling point for LN in Japan. In this case, the "poor" sales of IS vol.7 does not really have to do with that.

So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

Many of you may not know what they are, as high as they are ranked. But the first (title translated as "the night robbed by father- and brother-in-law") is an otome porn LN and the other two are related works for a long-running BL franchise. Just goes to show the strength of hardcore female consumers....

Many of you may not know what they are, as high as they are ranked. But the first (title translated as "the night robbed by father- and brother-in-law") is an otome porn LN and the other two are related works for a long-running BL franchise. Just goes to show the strength of hardcore female consumers....
It seems the female otaku have really come out with their wallets this year for both discs and novels! Where were they all this time???

I guessed they were female targeted by looking at the links you posted.
But, I'm surprised to know these are "hardcore" stuff.

I was surprised too. Particularly the one ranked no.9 the sample text on the page of the novel http://www.tiarabunko.jp/c/item/6667.html-00001 is full-blown hardcore porn with sadomasochism and menage-a-trois. I actually gasped in startle when I found such work coming so high in the LN ranking.

Nice to see Chihayafuru ding good, I'm one of those who hope for 3rd season as well.

Also happy for Yamada-kun to 7-nin no Majo doing well.

As for SnK i'm curious how anime ending will affect sales. I expect few week sales rush and then drop from rankings. Anyway during all half year of anime airing there was always all volumes in rankings.
Year end chart should be quite attacked by titans :) There is big chance of all volumes being in top 25 bestsellers for the year.

Let me translate some dialogue for you, LOL:
「あ、あぁ……っ!」
"Ah, ahhh....!"...
「はぁ……、あ、あ、あ、あ、あぁっ!!」
"Ha...., ah, ah, ah, ah, ahhhh!!"
「いぁ、いぁ……っ、も、も……だめ、だめぇ……」
"Eah, eah, ...., mo, mo.... no, nooo...."
「ひ……ぁ……っ、あ、あぁっ」
"He....ah..., ah, ahhhh"
「……ん……あ、あぁ……っ、はぁ……、はぁ……」
"....n....ah, ahhhh.... haa..... ha....."
