According to ANN there was meant to be 4 episodes. Looks like it got cancelled halfway through.

Out of interest do you know what the music was they were "singing" to during Shoko's first pray in Episode 1. It could be a classical piece I'm sure I've heard it before maybe in an Ali Project song that's gonna bug me like crazy.
